Atomfall rewards observation more than checklist chasing. Its Leads emerge from conversations, recordings, letters, items, and details in the environment; for players who want to keep discoveries theirs, start with the spoiler-light hints below. The specific Easter egg locations later in this guide are community-reported and marked as spoilers, not officially confirmed by Rebellion.
How Atomfall’s discoveries work
Atomfall does not use a conventional quest or mission list. Rich May, a senior programmer at Rebellion, describes its system as “Leads”: information uncovered through conversations, tape recordings, letters, and items. Each Lead can help you piece together what happened in the Quarantine Zone, while what you do with that information is up to you. Rebellion’s launch tips on Xbox Wire explain the system and its navigation settings.

That structure makes close looking part of the game’s exploration loop. A phone ringing somewhere unexpected, a note left behind, or an object that seems out of place can prompt a new line of investigation. Some discoveries feed into Leads; others are environmental jokes or references that reward noticing the setting.
Hints for finding secrets without spoilers
If you want nudges rather than a location checklist, begin with Rebellion’s own suggestions: after leaving the bunker, pay attention to the ringing phone box in Slatten Dale, talk with Nat and Molly, and explore Wyndham Village. These pointers identify places and people to investigate without spelling out what you will find.

The game’s official presentation also gives useful context for spotting references. Rebellion describes Atomfall as drawing on British folk horror and classic science fiction, specifically naming Doctor Who, The Quatermass Experiment, and The Day of the Triffids. The announcement trailer is set in Casterfell Woods and includes a pyre, a wicker man, bodies, and a ringing phone box; Xbox Wire’s trailer announcement explicitly invites viewers to look for Easter eggs. Those are confirmed influences and trailer details, not confirmation of every in-game reference fans identify.
Choose how much help you want
There are two separate choices: how guided your navigation is, and how much location information you want from outside the game. Use the least assistance that suits your patience for searching; exact maps can reveal discoveries before you reach them.
| Approach | What it offers | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Explore unaided | Follow Leads, conversations, recordings, letters, items, and environmental clues. | More uncertainty about where to go next; discoveries remain less exposed to spoilers. |
| Use in-game markers or settings | On Survivor, map and compass waypoints are not added by default. You can place map markers that appear on the compass and adjust Exploration settings for a more guided experience. | More navigational help, but less of the open-ended search that comes with following clues yourself. |
| Consult a map or database | Community resources organize locations and searchable information about items and journal entries. | Can reveal the position or identity of a secret, and may not reflect later game updates. |
Rebellion lists five modes—Sightseer, Investigator, Brawler, Survivor, and Veteran—and says difficulty settings can be changed in Options. Its guidance specifically notes Survivor’s lack of default waypoints; it does not mean you are barred from placing markers or changing Exploration settings.

Spoilers: community-reported Easter egg locations
The locations and interpretations below are spoilers. They come from Fluff’s community compilation, titled “All (?) Easter Eggs + Map Locations,” rather than official Rebellion confirmation. The question mark is apt: treat these as reported identifications, not a definitive or exhaustive catalogue. Read the community post for its map references and further examples.
Wyndham Village
- The Prisoner: The post interprets a chessboard and chalkboard as references to Number 6, Number Two, the series’ 17 episodes, and the white-ball Rover.
- Monty Python and The Two Ronnies: In the village shop, the post identifies a dead blue parrot in a cage as a nod to the Dead Parrot sketch, and four candles alongside two fork handles as a reference to the “Four Candles” sketch.
Skethermoor
- Doctor Who: Near the Interchange entrance, the post reports a blue box, a TARDIS-like sound effect, and a hat resembling one worn by the Fourth Doctor. This is a community identification, distinct from the game’s officially stated Doctor Who influence.
- The Chronicles of Narnia: In a cottage cellar, interacting with paintings of a lion and a witch reportedly opens wardrobe doors and reveals a hidden room containing a BARD Supply Box.
- Judge Dredd: The post reports a Dredd helmet on shelves in the Protocol Workshop.
Casterfell Woods
- Goldfinger: The post identifies a headless statue and a nearby hat as a reference.
- The Lord of the Rings: It identifies an axe splitting a ring as a nod to the fantasy series.
The same community post also mentions reported references to Mr Bean, Fawlty Towers, Zombie Shark, Broken Sword, The Avengers, Dan Dare, Last of the Summer Wine, Rogue Trooper, The Italian Job, and Sword in the Stone. The post does not establish a complete, officially validated list.

If your goal shifts from noticing references to completing collections, external guides can provide exact routes. Gamer Guides has a visitor-pamphlet location guide with routes and coordinates, including examples in Wyndham Village and Casterfell Woods. Its page metadata says it was released March 23, 2025 and updated April 4, 2025. It describes visitor pamphlets as one collectible type alongside lunchboxes and comics; do not assume that page is a complete inventory of every collectible or later addition.

The Steam Community interactive maps and database by Analogue Noise describe coverage for Slatten Dale, Casterfell Woods, Skethermoor, Wyndham Village, and the Interchange. The guide says it includes collectibles, Leads, findings, key items, training manuals, stimulants, BARD crates, and searchable item and journal databases. It is a community resource, not a developer-maintained service, and its description alone does not establish that it has been updated for every later change. Both options can make cleanup easier, but checking them may reveal discoveries you would otherwise encounter in play.
Do secrets extend beyond the original regions?
Atomfall’s story expansion, Wicked Isle, adds an island region reached by boat from Wyndham, along with characters, enemies, Leads, weapons, skills, items, and multiple possible endings for the main game. Xbox Wire reported on May 30, 2025 that it would be available from June 3, 2025; the article described its purchase options at that time, not current price or availability. See Xbox Wire’s expansion announcement for those details.
