Game News 24’s 27 February 2023 report relays player accounts, including one describing the ground disappearing when trying to jump down toward the mirror section. That is a player-reported description, not an independently verified account or developer statement. Game Voyagers’ troubleshooting guide also covers both the elevator sequence and falling after loading a save.
If you fall through the floor in “A Glass, Darkly”
Try to land in the elevator center
- As you enter the elevator section, use jump and air dash to aim for the center of the elevator area.
- Once you land, avoid moving while the elevator travels to the surface.
This is the workaround suggested by Game Voyagers; it is not established as a guaranteed fix.

Replay from an earlier save if the fall repeats
Both guides mention reloading an earlier save and attempting the section again. Game Voyagers notes that it may take multiple attempts. Because reloading can discard progress made since that save, preserve a separate save first if the game allows it.
If the fall starts after loading a save
Both guides mention repeatedly pressing jump as a possible way to escape a fall immediately after loading. Treat this as a speculative, low-confidence attempt: Game Voyagers says it is highly unlikely to work. The sources do not establish a dependable save-load workaround beyond trying an earlier save where appropriate.

Is there an official fix, and which platforms are affected?
The available guides do not verify whether a later update fixed either issue, and they do not establish a reliable platform or game-version range. Game Voyagers describes the problem as prevalent in the Game Pass edition on the Xbox Series lineup, but that is a claim from one secondary guide—not official confirmation or a current assessment across platforms. Check current official Atomic Heart patch notes or support information for your platform before assuming the bug is either fixed or still present.
Neither guide reports controlled testing. The suggested actions should therefore be treated as player-facing workarounds rather than confirmed fixes.
