When did Avowed come out?
Avowed’s final release date was February 18, 2025. Xbox confirmed the launch in its February 18, 2025 launch-day announcement, while Obsidian’s official game page also lists February 18, 2025.
The title’s “delayed to 2025” wording is historical: the game has already launched. The official sources cited here confirm the final date but do not establish why the schedule changed, so a specific reason for the delay should not be assumed.
Where can you play Avowed?
At launch, Xbox listed Avowed for Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app on Windows PC, Battle.net, Steam, and cloud. Xbox also described it as available on Game Pass from day one. Obsidian’s current game page lists Windows, Steam, Xbox, and Battle.net.

Xbox describes Avowed as a first-person fantasy action RPG set in the Living Lands, a region of Eora. You play as an envoy sent to investigate a spreading plague. Those details frame the game’s premise; they do not explain the release delay.
