For a conventional Hindi music stream with a persistent visual, a sensible starting profile is H.264 at 1080p30, CBR video at 14 Mbps, a two-second keyframe interval, and stereo AAC at 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps. That follows YouTube’s published encoder guidance; it is not a ready-made MediaLive preset or a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming. MediaLive needs a continuous source, a compatible output path to YouTube, and an operating plan for failures. The settings are the same for Hindi music as for other programming; the important choices are source, output, capacity, redundancy, rights, and monitoring.
What MediaLive does—and what it does not do
AWS Elemental MediaLive receives audio and video from an upstream source, transcodes that feed, and sends an output to a downstream destination. For this channel, that means arranging a source that can provide the Hindi music program continuously, configuring a MediaLive channel to process it, and sending a compatible output to YouTube Live.
MediaLive is not, by itself, a music library or a playlist player. A schedule can switch between attached inputs, but the channel processes one input at a time. If the program is a playlist or a continuous HLS feed rather than a live encoder, the source still needs to remain available and deliver usable segments. A MediaLive channel that is configured to run continuously does not guarantee that the source, output connection, or YouTube ingest will remain available.
Choose a starting video and audio profile
Use the output profile that fits the source, audience connections, and actual delivery architecture. YouTube’s published figures below are recommended ingest settings, not measured results or a promise of picture quality.

YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. It accepts H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 for its listed RTMP/RTMPS ingest settings, up to 60 fps. That broader YouTube list does not mean every codec is available on every MediaLive path: for a MediaLive RTMP input, AWS lists H.264 video and AAC audio. Check codec compatibility for the exact input, output group, and destination you select rather than assuming YouTube’s full list applies end to end.
A static visual may not need a high frame rate, but the choice should reflect the program and audience. Match the output to the source rather than expecting a higher-resolution encode to create detail that is not present. If the channel is intended to be audio-only, select an output arrangement that supports audio-only delivery; do not assume a video profile with a still image is equivalent to an audio-only output.
Plan the source, channel, and YouTube connection
1. Decide how the Hindi program reaches MediaLive
Choose an upstream source first. A live push encoder, or a pull source such as HLS, has different protocol and availability requirements. AWS documents HLS input; it classifies an HTTP or HTTPS HLS source as live when its buffer segments setting is 3–10. AWS does not recommend Amazon S3 as a live source. Confirm the source type and its continuity before choosing the channel configuration.

2. Create the MediaLive input and channel around that source
AWS describes the workflow as a MediaLive channel that ingests and transcodes, one or more upstream systems that supply the program, and downstream systems that receive the result. The input settings describe the source-to-MediaLive side; they are not where the YouTube stream key belongs. For a public RTMP push input, AWS creates two input destinations for a standard-class input and one for a single-class input. AWS requires a MediaLive input security group attached to a public RTMP push input; it filters which source IP ranges can push to it.
The exact console or API fields depend on the input type, output group, and current AWS interface. Before building, verify the currently supported codecs and protocols for the selected path. In particular, AWS documents that MediaLive RTMP input does not support RTMPS. This is a limitation of that input path, not a statement about every MediaLive output. YouTube recommends RTMPS, so do not paste a YouTube RTMPS endpoint into an AWS RTMP input field. Choose and verify an output path that supports the protocol expected by YouTube.
3. Get the YouTube ingest details and protect the key
YouTube Live Control Room provides a stream URL and stream key. Configure those on the MediaLive output/encoder side for the selected destination, not as source-input settings. YouTube describes the key as similar to the stream’s password and address: it directs the encoder feed and allows YouTube to accept it. Keep it private; reset it if it is exposed or compromised.

For a 24/7 channel, also decide how the YouTube broadcast is started, monitored, and recovered. A working encoder configuration alone does not define the YouTube-side stream lifecycle or ensure a continuous public broadcast.
Choose one or two MediaLive pipelines deliberately
AWS recommends a standard channel’s two-pipeline design for resiliency, but enabling a two-pipeline channel is not enough on its own. Both pipelines process independently, so the upstream system must be able to provide two sources and the downstream side must be able to receive two outputs.

Choose based on whether you can supply redundant feeds, whether the destination can receive them, and what you can monitor and recover. The channel class alone does not establish end-to-end availability.

Check capacity and test the complete path
YouTube advises sufficient upload capacity for the primary stream, backup stream, and 20% headroom. That guidance refers to the capacity needed for those streams. For a cloud-to-cloud MediaLive output, calculate capacity for the actual architecture and destination rather than applying an on-premises encoder assumption without checking it.
- Measure the real program path. Test the actual source, MediaLive input and output configuration, and YouTube destination—not only a short local encode.
- Use representative content. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement representative of the real stream. Include the actual Hindi recordings and visual format you plan to broadcast.
- Check stream health and capacity. Monitor the stream and confirm the network or cloud path has sufficient capacity for the selected profile.
- Exercise redundancy if configured. Test both input feeds, both pipeline paths, downstream receipt, and any failover behavior before relying on them.
- Write down recovery ownership. Decide who receives alerts, who can restore a source or output, and what happens if YouTube drops the ingest connection.
Continuous availability depends on source continuity, input recovery, channel operation, output connectivity, YouTube ingest, monitoring, and intervention procedures. AWS and YouTube’s technical settings guidance does not certify a particular 24/7 Hindi music configuration.

Also review YouTube’s applicable copyright and channel policies for the specific material and format. The MediaLive and encoder settings described here do not determine whether a particular stream will receive a claim, remain available in every territory, or qualify under YouTube’s rules about reused content or monetization.
Cost and operating choices
No defensible AWS cost estimate follows from the output bitrate alone. The estimate depends on AWS region, channel class, output profile, run hours, destination, and supporting services. Price the selected architecture using current AWS pricing for the relevant region and services before committing to continuous operation.
Also account for the operating work: keeping the source available, checking YouTube stream health, securing the key, and responding to failures. A continuous schedule does not replace those responsibilities.
