Reach the monastery from the Mountain Pass patrol, descend to the monastery’s lower level, then follow the crèche’s main corridor to the infirmary, Captain’s Quarters, and Inquisitor’s Chamber. Resolve any optional Mountain Pass quests before entering the Shadow-Cursed Lands: that transition starts Act Two and can automatically close unfinished quests.
How to reach the Mountain Pass
From the Risen Road, approach the Mountain Pass patrol. If Lae’zel is with you, she may move toward the githyanki. The encounter introduces Kith’rak Voss and the githyanki’s search for the artefact.
Dialogue checks can resolve the encounter peacefully; failing them can make the patrol hostile. Some dialogue and party outcomes depend on earlier choices. If you defeat the patrol, showing its slate to Lae’zel can advance her quest. For more on this route, see the Mountain Pass reference.
Cross the Rosymorn Monastery Trail
Continue to the Trielta Crags waypoint and head toward Rosymorn Monastery. You can take the cable car after unblocking its wheel, or descend by the stairs and cliffs instead. The route also has an undead encounter on the way toward the Shadow-Cursed Lands, so avoid crossing into that region until you are ready to leave Act One quests behind.

The Rosymorn Monastery Trail reference describes these routes and stops.

Explore the crèche and advance Lae’zel’s quest
The main corridor branches into several key areas. Explore in the order that suits your party; reaching the Inquisitor’s Chamber requires passing through the Captain’s Quarters.
| Area | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Infirmary | The Zaith’isk and Ghustil Stornugoss. The Zaith’isk is part of “Find a Cure” and Lae’zel’s “The Githyanki Warrior.” |
| Hatchery | Related to the githyanki egg quest. |
| Classroom | Story material about the crèche. |
| Trade post | A merchant. |
| Captain’s Quarters | The barrier disruptor that blocks the route to the Inquisitor’s Chamber. |
| Inquisitor’s Chamber | The Inquisitor, a Planecaster, and two statues with turning bases that open a hidden passage. |
Addressing the Zaith’isk is a major step in the cure storyline, but specific checks and consequences can vary with game version and prior choices. The Crèche Y’llek reference covers the area’s principal locations and quest connections.

Continue through the Inquisitor and Vlaakith sequence
Use the barrier disruptor in the Captain’s Quarters to reach the Inquisitor’s Chamber. Speaking with the Inquisitor advances Lae’zel’s quest and “Discover the Artefact’s Secrets.” The ensuing Vlaakith and artefact sequence is central to Lae’zel’s story; make dialogue decisions based on your role-play and prior choices, since outcomes are not universal.
A high-level route through these scenes is to address the Zaith’isk, proceed to the Inquisitor and Vlaakith sequence, then decide whether to complete the optional Blood of Lathander objective. The step order comes from BG3Guides’ Crèche Y’llek guide; its specific checks and benefits may be patch-sensitive.

You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.
Optional: get the Blood of Lathander
The Blood of Lathander is an optional mace in a secret chamber accessed from the Inquisitor’s area. Turning the two statue bases opens the hidden passage. The puzzle steps below are described by the fan guide, not official Larian documentation.
- Collect the four ceremonial weapons in Rosymorn Monastery.
- Place them on the Dawnmaster pedestals to obtain the Dawnmaster’s Crest.
- Enter the secret chamber behind the turning statues in the Inquisitor’s Chamber.
- Insert the Crest before taking the mace. BG3Guides warns that taking the mace without the Crest activates the Solar Lance and destroys the building; consult its walkthrough for its account of this sequence.
The quest’s connection to the secret chamber is also covered by the Blood of Lathander reference. Because detailed puzzle behavior can be patch-sensitive, follow the in-game prompts rather than relying on version-specific checks as universal.
