Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 added 13 cinematic conclusions for evil playthroughs and introduced an in-game Mod Manager for supported community mods. Those are separate features: the endings respond to story choices, while the Mod Manager helps players install and manage mods. Larian also released a separate, PC-only Toolkit for creating mods.
What Patch 7 added to evil playthroughs
Patch 7 introduced 13 new ending cinematics with different conclusions for evil runs. Larian said the scenes depend on choices made during the playthrough and can appear in either a new game or an existing save. Larian’s Xbox and PlayStation announcements specify that the set includes a unique ending for each Origin Character.
The 13 scenes are one part of the update, not the entirety of its story or gameplay changes. Larian also highlighted Honour Mode combat improvements and dynamic split-screen: the view can merge when the player characters approach one another and split again when they move apart.
Viewing the scenes
The new endings are covered by the game’s “Show Sexual and Violent Cinematics” setting. According to Larian, switching this setting on or off does not change story choices or access to romances. It does control whether sexual content with nudity and particularly violent scenes with gore are shown. See Larian’s Patch 7 announcement for the update’s description.

Using mods and creating mods are different
Patch 7 added an in-game Mod Manager for browsing, installing, and managing supported community mods. Mods created and uploaded through Larian’s Toolkit can be found there, and players can choose which installed mods are enabled. This is the route for players who want to use mods, not author them.
For creation, Larian offers the Baldur’s Gate 3 Toolkit as a separate, free Steam application for PC. Larian says the game officially supports some scripted mods using its Osiris language. The Toolkit is not a console or Mac creation tool.

What to check before playing with mods
Multiplayer needs matching mod lists
Larian’s support FAQ says every player in a modded multiplayer session needs the exact same mods at the same version. If someone cannot join, compare the active mods and versions across the party rather than assuming that owning the same game is enough.
Cross-saves depend on versions and mod availability
A cross-save may not work when the PC and console copies are on different game versions. Mods can also be a barrier if one or more selected mods are unavailable on the destination platform. Larian recommends choosing mods available on console when planning to move a save between PC and console. Check the current version and the mod list on both ends before relying on a cross-platform save.

Update installed mods through the manager
Larian’s FAQ says the Mod Manager displays an Update button when a mod needs updating. Use the manager’s Installed tab to update it.

Larian’s support FAQ lists the Toolkit as PC-only, requiring a 64-bit system and 160GB of available storage. Its recommended specifications are Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel i7 8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB RAM, and an Nvidia 2060 Super or AMD RX 5700 XT with at least 8GB VRAM. These are Larian’s stated recommendations, not a guarantee that every other system configuration will work.

Patch 7 released on PC on September 5, 2024. Larian’s rollout posts documented its later arrival on PS5 on October 1 and Xbox Series X|S on October 2, 2024, with the October update also reporting the console and Mac rollout. Those dates describe the 2024 release schedule; they do not establish current platform availability or version status.
