Best overall for an unattended YouTube loop: StreamNeo. It runs uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer does not have to stay on; every slot supports the video as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free. If you prefer a free, hands-on setup and can keep a computer and reliable connection running, OBS Studio is the local alternative. No independent head-to-head uptime tests establish one provider as universally most reliable, so compare services by their documented workflow and terms.
How to choose a 24/7 service for an animated loop
A 24/7 YouTube stream can show a prepared animated video repeatedly, but “best” depends on whether you want to maintain the encoder yourself or leave it to a cloud service. Use these criteria before choosing:
- Unattended operation and recovery: Can the stream keep running without your personal computer, and what does the provider say happens after a disconnect?
- Playback: Does it handle a single looping file, playlists, or both?
- Media limits: Check accepted formats, resolution and frame rate against your actual animation.
- Billing and storage: Compare the billing period, trial terms and storage limits.
- Account control: Understand how the YouTube stream key is handled and how you revoke or replace it.
- Monitoring and support: Look for documented status information, recovery behavior and support channels.
Cloud services describe their own features; their claims should not be mistaken for independent uptime measurements or comparable service-level guarantees.

2. OBS Studio — free local encoder
OBS Studio is open source and free for any use, including commercial use. You keep control of the local playback and encoder, but your computer, OBS and internet connection need to remain available. OBS says it does not operate streaming servers; the connection goes directly to the destination. That makes OBS suitable when you can maintain the setup, not when the stream must continue independently of your home equipment.
3. Other cloud-loop services to evaluate
Looping Stream says it configures broadcasts in a browser, runs them on managed servers and supports playlists that repeat continuously: Looping Stream. - Confirm channel access. Verify that the channel is eligible for live streaming and that YouTube Studio allows you to create a broadcast. Review YouTube’s current live-stream setup guidance before scheduling a continuous session.
- Prepare the animation file. Export a finished video in a format OBS can play, and check that its picture and sound are intentional at the loop point. If the animation includes music or other third-party material, clear the rights for live broadcast as well as for the recording.
- Create a YouTube broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the stream. Copy the stream URL and stream key using YouTube’s displayed workflow; treat the key like a password.
- Configure OBS. Add the prepared video as a media source, enable looping for a single-file loop, and set the canvas/output to the intended resolution and frame rate. In OBS stream settings, select the YouTube service and enter the stream key (or configure the server URL and key if using a custom ingest option). Choose encoder settings that your computer and upload connection can sustain; YouTube’s current guidance should take precedence for supported ingest settings.
- Start the encoder and confirm the live state. Start streaming in OBS, then verify the incoming signal and go-live state in Live Control Room as required by YouTube’s setup path. Check the public watch page and audio before leaving the session unattended.
- Keep the local setup available. Leave the computer awake, OBS running, the media file accessible and the internet connection stable. OBS’s dropped-frame indicator can increase when the connection is unstable or cannot keep up with the selected bitrate; reduce the load or fix the network before relying on the stream.
YouTube’s source cited here does not establish one universal bitrate, resolution or keyframe interval for every encoder and stream configuration. Use the current YouTube encoder guidance and the capabilities of your connection and machine rather than assuming a single setting fits all cases.

Rules, rights and replay limits to plan around
Live access and platform rules
YouTube says live content must follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Technical acceptance by an encoder or hosting service does not establish that the content is allowed. YouTube’s overview lists limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key; these are operational limits, not a reason to run duplicate copies of a loop. Check YouTube’s current guidance for your channel and setup: live-stream overview.
Music, animation and other rights
YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for the live content, including music. Make sure you own or have permission to broadcast every visual and audio element in the loop, including background music and material included in a commissioned animation. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.
Monetization and repetitive content
A stream that is technically live is not guaranteed to qualify for monetization. YouTube’s monetization policy says repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible and expects original material to offer creative, educational or other viewer value. Assessment can be channel-wide, including its theme, videos and metadata. A loop should not rely on repetition alone as its value proposition; review YouTube channel monetization policies.
Do not rely on a 24/7 broadcast as a complete replay
YouTube’s archive guidance says streams under 12 hours can be archived automatically, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving the animation as a replay matters, record a local archive or divide the broadcast into shorter sessions. YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup. See Archive live streams.

Troubleshooting common failures
OBS reports dropped frames or the live feed stutters
- Likely cause: The connection is unstable or cannot sustain the selected bitrate.
- What to do: Check the upload connection, reduce encoder load or bitrate to a sustainable setting, and verify the stream again in Live Control Room. OBS documents dropped-frame behavior at its Help Portal.
YouTube does not receive the encoder signal
- Likely cause: A mismatched stream key or URL, an inactive broadcast setup, or an encoder that has not started sending.
- What to do: Compare OBS’s configured destination and key with the current stream details in YouTube Studio, then restart the encoder and follow the Live Control Room status. If a key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
The loop stops when the computer sleeps or restarts
- Likely cause: A local OBS stream depends on the machine and its network remaining available.
- What to do: Prevent sleep and interruptions, keep the media file available, and monitor the session—or move the prepared-video workflow to a cloud service.
The broadcast ends or its replay is missing
- Likely cause: The stream exceeded YouTube’s archive capture window, or the broadcast was interrupted.
- What to do: Keep a local recording and use shorter sessions when a dependable replay is important; do not assume a continuous stream will become a complete archive.
The stream works, but monetization is unavailable
- Likely cause: YouTube evaluates monetization under its channel policies, including concerns about repetitive or mass-produced content.
- What to do: Review the channel and loop for distinct original value and consult YouTube’s current monetization policy; successful ingest alone is not proof of eligibility.
