The pricing page says text-to-speech uses approximately 1 credit per character, while voice changer uses approximately 1,000 credits per minute. Credits are shared across products. These are the vendor’s stated usage figures, not a guarantee of the credits a particular project will consume.

How to choose for your streaming setup
- You want your own live mic to sound different: Start with Voicemod’s documented OBS workflow and confirm that your streaming software is receiving the virtual microphone.
- You want character lines, intros, or narration made from text: Consider ElevenLabs text-to-speech, then bring the finished audio into your editing or streaming workflow.
- You want to transform a recorded performance: ElevenLabs documents uploading audio or recording within its app; account for its stated per-minute credit use.
- You need both live effects and prepared speech: Treat them as separate workflows. The reviewed documentation supports Voicemod for live input and ElevenLabs for generated or prepared audio; it does not establish that one replaces the other.
Sound quality, latency, and licensing: what is established
The reviewed official pages do not establish an independently tested winner for sound quality or latency. Voicemod’s low-resource and minimal-latency descriptions are vendor claims, not comparative measurements. Results can vary with the microphone, computer, audio routing, network and stream settings.
