Neither guide establishes the October 2026 multiplayer meta, so treat these as dated starting builds and check current in-game Gunsmith details.
Five-attachment AK-74 build: the flexible starting point
CODMunity’s Black Ops 6 multiplayer build, marked updated April 9, 2025, uses five attachments:

CODMunity characterizes the AK-74 as having strong time to kill but difficult recoil control. It also displays modeled average TTK figures of 276 ms at 10–40 m and 399 ms at 40–80 m for this setup. Those are database estimates, not independently verified match results, and should not be treated as a guarantee of how quickly a target will be eliminated in a live match. Eight-attachment option for recoil and handling
If you prefer to devote a wildcard to a more fully equipped rifle, Beebom’s May 8, 2025 build uses Gunfighter to add attachments beyond the standard five:

This is Beebom’s recommendation, not a verified current meta build. It trades the wildcard slot for more ways to tune recoil and handling; compare it with the five-attachment setup in the range rather than assuming the extra attachments are automatically better. How to choose between the builds
- Choose the five-slot build if you want a straightforward setup that does not require Gunfighter. Start there if the rifle’s recoil is the main obstacle, then adjust the optic to your preference.
- Try the Gunfighter build if recoil control is worth using your wildcard and you want the additional barrel, laser, and fire-mod slots.
- Compare in a private match or practice setting by firing at the same range with each setup. Pay attention to recoil consistency, whether you can track a target while aiming, and how the sight picture feels. This is a practical comparison method, not a claim that either guide’s build has been tested here.
The two published builds differ in both date and attachment priorities. The older beta-era Charlie INTEL configuration used Merlin Reflex, Reinforced Barrel, Vertical Foregrip, Quickdraw Grip, and Extended Mag I; it is historical context, not a current recommendation. Beebom’s class setup—and a perk discrepancy
Beebom lists this accompanying class:
- Secondary: Grekhova
- Perks: Ghost, Forward Intel, and Birdseye
- Wildcard: Gunfighter
- Lethal: Semtex
- Tactical: Smoke Grenade
There is an inconsistency in the guide: its listed third perk is Birdseye, but its accompanying description says Double Time. The source does not resolve which one it intends, so treat the listed perk set as one option and check the in-game descriptions and your preferred playstyle before locking in a class.

Blizzard’s Black Ops 6 systems article says most primary weapons have 40–50 weapon levels, with levels unlocking weapon-specific attachments or a class optic. Once a class optic is unlocked, it can be used on another weapon of that class from weapon level 1. Blizzard also describes Global Weapon Builds as a way to carry a build across Black Ops 6, Zombies, and Warzone. These are system details, not confirmation of the AK-74’s current balance or the present unlock level for every attachment above. Read Blizzard’s Global Systems overview.

Beebom reported that Season 3 Reloaded reduced the AK-74’s damage multipliers and ADS speeds. That is a dated account of a past update, not evidence of how the weapon is tuned in October 2026. The available build guides are from 2025, and the official systems article does not provide current weapon-balance data; check the current Gunsmith and official patch notes before treating either configuration as optimal.
