When was the February 2026 Best Buy Pokémon event?
Best Buy announced a two-hour Pokémon Trade & Play event for Saturday, February 28, 2026, from noon to 2 p.m. local time at select stores. The announcement was dated February 26, two days before the event. Because it was limited to select locations, it should not be read as an event held at every Best Buy. Best Buy’s February 26 announcement is the source for the date, hours, and event details.
The event is now historical. Best Buy’s current Pokémon page describes a separate October 3 event, not a rescheduled or continuing February event: Best Buy Pokémon page.
What could attendees do?
The February event announcement described hands-on demonstrations of Pokémon games, opportunities to trade cards, and event leaders who could help newcomers learn the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It was presented as an in-store activity for both people who already played and those interested in learning.

Were the Pokémon packs free?
Some items were announced as giveaways, but the release said they were available while supplies lasted. The listed giveaways were three-card Pokémon fun packs, Bandai Pikachu Model Kits, visors, and stickers. The announcement does not establish that every store had every item or that every attendee received one.
Best Buy also listed products for purchase at select stores. These were not described as free event packs:

What comes in the Pokémon Day 2026 Collection?
Best Buy’s product listing for a two-collection set describes each collection as including a stamped foil Pikachu promo card, a metallic 30th-anniversary coin, and three booster packs. That is product packaging information, not a description of the limited free event fun packs. Was this the same as the Pokémon League event?
No. Pokémon’s February 27 Pokémon Day celebrations were a separate program at participating hobby-store Leagues, one day before Best Buy’s event. The Pokémon Company International described activities including card trading and battles, Pokémon GO raids, and social events; specific activities and prizes varied by location and supply. Check Pokémon’s notice about local Pokémon League celebrations for that separate program.

What if you want to play or protect cards now?
The February event has passed, so its announcement does not establish a current Best Buy event schedule or present-day giveaway availability. For future in-person play, check the Pokémon League notice and local store details. If you already collect cards, Best Buy’s Pokémon page lists accessories such as sleeves, binders, deck boxes, playmats, and top loaders; these were not requirements or announced provisions for the February event.
