For a pre-recorded YouTube channel that should stay live continuously, StreamNeo is the clearest fit for creators who want a hosted service: upload a video or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and start the stream. It loops from the cloud, so your computer can be off. Gyre is another purpose-built cloud option listed in YouTube’s verified encoder directory; Vimeo suits scheduled prerecorded events and promotes continuous playlist streams; AWS is a toolkit for teams building their own video infrastructure rather than a ready-made YouTube channel manager.
Which platform should you choose?
| Platform | Best fit | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Creators who want an always-on prerecorded YouTube stream managed in the cloud. | Upload a recording or create a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos, recovers automatically if YouTube drops the stream, and supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot. |
| Gyre | Creators looking for a dedicated cloud tool for continuous prerecorded YouTube streams. | YouTube’s verified encoder directory describes Gyre as a cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded-streaming tool. Gyre describes looping, playlist automation, scheduled starts and ends, and automatic restarts. Its growth and viewing-duration figures are vendor claims, not independently established outcomes in the available materials. |
| Vimeo | Teams that need scheduled prerecorded events or a playlist-based continuous channel, potentially simulcast to YouTube. | Prerecorded event playback has workflow and plan conditions. Vimeo promotes 24/7 playlist streams, but check current availability and entitlement for your account before relying on the feature. |
| AWS MediaLive and CloudFront | Technical teams building a custom live-video system. | AWS documents components for ingest, encoding, packaging, and delivery. The cited architecture is not an out-of-the-box service for looping a video library directly to YouTube. |
Choose by workflow, not just by the promise of “24/7.” Check whether the service actually loops and restarts your material, how much setup and monitoring it leaves to you, whether it supports your destinations and schedule, how it handles concurrent streams and archives, and whether you can operate custom cloud infrastructure.
1. StreamNeo: hosted looping for YouTube
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, enter your YouTube stream key once, and start the stream; the cloud service continues playback without a computer or OBS session running at home. It is YouTube-only and plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a live camera feed.
- One always-on stream per slot, with 24/7 looping and playlists.
- Uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality-based plan tiers.
- 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots.
- Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream and support from the StreamNeo team.
Every plan includes the same product; only the billing period changes. There is a one-day free trial per account with no card required. Billing options are:

2. Gyre: a dedicated cloud automation option
YouTube’s verified encoder directory identifies Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streams and describes it as usable without a dedicated PC or camera. Its listing also mentions content conversion. That makes Gyre a relevant option to compare when the main need is automated prerecorded streaming.

Gyre’s own product description covers cloud looping, playlists, scheduled start and end times, and automatic stream restarts. Treat claims about audience growth or longer viewing as Gyre’s marketing claims: the available evidence does not establish them through an independently identified study. Compare the actual workflow, current plan limits, and support terms directly before choosing.
3. Vimeo: scheduled events and playlist channels
Scheduled prerecorded events
Vimeo Help documents automatic playback of prerecorded material in a scheduled event using Vimeo’s web-based production tool. The documented workflow is not available with external encoders, and eligibility depends on the plan, event type, required lead time, and concurrent-event availability. If a live segment follows prerecorded scenes, the event switches to manual mode at that live scene.

Continuous playlist streams
Vimeo promotes 24/7 scheduled streams assembled from prerecorded playlists, with simulcasting to YouTube and other destinations. Treat that as a description of Vimeo’s promoted capabilities, not a guarantee that a particular account includes them. Vimeo Help says simulcasting requires an Advanced or Premium plan, or Enterprise with Events; its live-event FAQ also sets plan-based concurrency and duration limits. Confirm the current entitlement and limits for your plan before building a channel around them.
4. AWS: flexible infrastructure, not a finished channel manager
AWS documentation describes live-video building blocks for real-time content and 24×7 channels. Its reference architecture uses MediaLive for ingest and encoding, MediaPackage for packaging, and CloudFront for delivery; related guidance also discusses MediaStore as an origin option. This can suit an organization that needs a custom broadcast stack and has the engineering capacity to operate it.

Those components do not, by themselves, provide a finished workflow for rotating an existing video library to YouTube. A custom implementation must account for YouTube stream URL and key handling, channel scheduling, playlist rotation, restart and stream-health logic, rights management, and YouTube archive behavior. YouTube’s Live Streaming API can manage broadcast and stream resources programmatically, but it does not supply the application logic or a ready-to-use always-on manager.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How the YouTube connection and archive affect your choice
An encoder sends video to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key associated with the broadcast. YouTube says scheduling a stream helps promote it. Whether a service handles those steps for you or you configure them in a custom workflow, protect the stream key as a credential and use the key for the intended channel and stream.

YouTube Help states: “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” Do not assume that an always-on broadcast lasting longer than 12 hours will be archived as one uninterrupted video. If a replay matters, plan how you will create and retain suitable shorter broadcasts or otherwise preserve the source recordings.
Practical checks before committing
- Confirm the exact playback mode. A scheduled simulive event, an automatically looping 24/7 playlist, and a custom live-video delivery stack are different workflows.
- Verify YouTube support. Check whether the product connects to YouTube directly or leaves stream URL, key, scheduling, and recovery to you.
- Check operational behavior. Find out how playlists rotate, what happens after a dropped stream, and whether restart behavior is automatic or manual.
- Check account limits. For Vimeo in particular, verify current plan eligibility, concurrent-event limits, and duration limits. For any provider, confirm how many simultaneous streams your account supports.
- Plan for archives. A continuous stream longer than YouTube’s stated under-12-hour archive window should not be treated as one guaranteed replay.
- Clear rights and monetization expectations. You remain responsible for having rights to the music and video you stream and for following YouTube’s copyright and monetization policies. Continuous playback does not itself guarantee monetization, audience growth, or a particular recommendation outcome.
- Price the whole workflow. Compare the hosted plan with any infrastructure, engineering, monitoring, storage, and recovery work required by a custom build. Do not compare AWS components to a managed creator service as if they were equivalent products.
