For an Indian creator who wants a pre-recorded music channel to stay live without managing a server, StreamNeo is the simplest fit: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud to YouTube, with the same per-slot price at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps and a free first day. A self-managed cloud VM is more flexible if you can operate it; Google Cloud Live Stream API and AWS media services address broader encoding and delivery workflows, not turnkey YouTube playlist broadcasting. No available evidence establishes one provider as universally best, so choose by workload, technical capacity, rights, and total cost.

Which service fits a 24/7 music channel?

These options do different jobs. A continuous-broadcast service takes uploaded videos or a playlist and sends a persistent live feed to YouTube. A virtual machine (VM) gives you a server on which to build and maintain that playout yourself. Managed media services handle parts of a larger encoding and delivery pipeline, but their documented workflows do not necessarily send a playlist directly to YouTube.

Option Best fit What it does and the main trade-off
1. StreamNeo Creators who want to keep an uploaded-video YouTube stream running without leaving a computer on or administering a server. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops it from the cloud, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps is streamed as made, at one flat price per slot; the first day is free. UPI is available in India.
2. Self-managed cloud VM Operators who want control over their playout software, encoder, monitoring, and restart logic and are comfortable maintaining them. You assemble and operate the pipeline. A VM bill cannot be fairly compared without the region, instance, storage, outbound transfer, bitrate, and recovery setup.
3. YtLive Stream Creators considering a hosted continuous-broadcast service with advertised playlist and scheduling features. The vendor advertises cloud broadcasting, looping or shuffling playlists, scheduling, telemetry, and recovery. These are vendor claims, not independently measured reliability results; confirm current features, terms, and prices.
4. Google Cloud Live Stream API Workflows that need managed live encoding to HLS or DASH, including an operator prepared to build a separate path from those outputs to its viewer destination. It accepts SRT or RTMP input, transcodes, and stores HLS/DASH output in Cloud Storage. Its documented output is not a direct YouTube playlist relay.
5. AWS live-media components Broader broadcast systems that need encoding, an origin, and viewer delivery infrastructure. AWS describes workflows using MediaLive, MediaStore or MediaPackage, and CloudFront. This is not evidence that those services directly run an always-on YouTube playlist.

The ordering puts StreamNeo first for the straightforward goal of looping uploaded music on YouTube; it is not a claim that it wins every technical or budget scenario. A self-managed VM can offer more control, while managed encoding and delivery can make sense when the channel is one component of a larger broadcast architecture.

What StreamNeo includes and what it costs

StreamNeo is a cloud service for YouTube only. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. There are no quality tiers: uploads stream as made, up to 4K 60fps, without re-encoding. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes.

HD $0.14 $0.45
UHD $0.85 $1.50

These are Live Stream API component rates, not an all-in monthly cost for a YouTube channel. Storage, network egress, other cloud services, and any VM or playout system may add charges. Google states that the API has no free usage tier. See Google Cloud’s Live Stream API pricing and confirm the current region and rates before estimating a bill.

The API accepts SRT or RTMP input, transcodes to HLS or DASH, and stores generated output in Cloud Storage. Google names FFmpeg as an example encoder. That architecture can support managed live encoding, but the documented output is not itself a direct YouTube playout endpoint. Google recommends SRT where possible when the encoder supports it, citing packet-drop recovery, forward error correction, multiple audio elementary streams, and higher bandwidth than RTMP. Its published bitrate guidance is a starting point, not a guarantee of a particular YouTube configuration; consult the API overview and its best practices.

A VM: flexible, but the bill and operations are yours

A VM-based stream can be assembled around playout software and an encoder that sends RTMP or another supported input to YouTube. You must select and maintain the software, storage, networking, monitoring, and restart behavior. No complete current VM bill for an Indian region is established here; compare actual configurations rather than treating compute alone as the total. Include instance compute, persistent storage, outbound transfer, IP or networking charges, and any encoding or monitoring service.

AWS: a broadcast and viewer-delivery building block

AWS describes a live workflow in which an encoder such as MediaLive compresses and formats content, MediaStore or MediaPackage acts as origin, and CloudFront distributes it. AWS notes that live content can be a 24×7 channel, but that describes a broader broadcast and viewer-delivery architecture—not proof that the components directly maintain a YouTube playlist. See AWS’s CloudFront streaming overview.

Set up the YouTube destination before choosing a playout service

  1. Enable live streaming on the channel. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. Check YouTube’s live-stream setup requirements.
  2. Create or select the live stream in YouTube Studio. Use the stream URL and stream key provided by YouTube in the encoder or service configuration. YouTube describes the key as functioning like the stream’s password and address, so store it as a secret and do not post or share it.
  3. Choose an input and quality supported by the entire path. The encoder, service plan, account quotas, network, and YouTube configuration all matter. For Google Cloud, use its published bitrate guidance as a starting point and verify regional quota capacity; do not assume an API configuration equals a YouTube ingest configuration.
  4. Test the stream and monitor YouTube Studio. Confirm that the intended video and audio reach YouTube, that the stream appears as expected, and that the service’s recovery or restart process works for your chosen setup.

For Google Cloud Live Stream API specifically, plan around session lifecycle: its quota documentation says that after 24 hours in an active state, a channel may be restarted. It also lists HD output up to 1080p/15 Mbps and UHD up to 2160p/25 Mbps, and notes regional resource quotas. The documentation was last updated 2026-09-30 UTC. An unattended workflow therefore needs to account for session lifecycle and restart handling rather than assuming a channel will run indefinitely without intervention. See Google Cloud’s quotas and limits.

Music rights and monetization are separate from cloud reliability

Clear rights for the actual live use

Using a cloud service does not grant permission to broadcast music. YouTube places responsibility on the provider to have the necessary worldwide rights for live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses), and other royalty participants. Check that the license covers the territories, live broadcast, and any archive or replay use you intend. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions set out that responsibility.

Expect Content ID interruptions unless rights are recognized

YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content matches. A match can trigger a warning and placeholder image, followed by interruption or termination if the material remains. Even if you have a license, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to prevent an interruption. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

A continuous loop is not automatic monetization approval

YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams. Monetized content must be original and authentic; mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative content may be ineligible. A repeating playlist should not be treated as automatically eligible for monetization. YouTube’s current help page describes the general YouTube Partner Program ad-revenue threshold as 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in 365 days or 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days; meeting that threshold does not guarantee a repetitive live channel will pass channel review. YouTube also says Creator Music tracks are for long-form videos, not live streams. Read YouTube channel monetization policies and Creator Music usage details.

What can go wrong, and what to check first

  • YouTube receives no signal: Check that live streaming is enabled, the configured stream URL and key are current, and the encoder or hosted service is actually sending. Regenerate or re-enter the key if it may have been exposed or changed.
  • The broadcast is interrupted after a music match: Check YouTube Studio for a copyright notice. Confirm rights for the specific live use and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting; a license alone may not stop automated interruption.
  • A managed Google Cloud session needs restarting: Check whether the channel has reached the documented 24-hour active-session lifecycle, then implement and monitor a restart workflow. Also verify that the region has the required quota.
  • The live output quality or stability is not as expected: Check the selected input/output tiers, encoder settings, available bandwidth, and service or regional limits against the provider’s guidance. Do not assume a published bitrate recommendation proves your complete end-to-end configuration.
  • The cloud bill exceeds the estimate: Reconcile active channel hours and configured tiers, then add storage, egress, VM compute, and supporting services. For a VM estimate, price the actual region and workload rather than compute alone.
  • A playlist stream stops when no one is watching: Confirm the selected service is designed to keep an encoder feed running continuously and that its restart/recovery behavior is configured. Managed encoding infrastructure and a viewer-delivery CDN are not, by themselves, evidence of a YouTube playlist broadcaster.

Or let it run in the cloud

For a YouTube music loop without a server to maintain, upload a recording or build a playlist in StreamNeo, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. It streams at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Indian creators can pay by UPI. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
