For a hands-off 24/7 YouTube story channel, StreamNeo is the first service to consider: upload your videos, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; it loops them from the cloud, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Its first day is free with no card. For a documented third-party option, Gyre is the closest fit: YouTube lists it for continuous streams of prerecorded videos. AWS is a more configurable, technical architecture, while the available evidence does not establish Restream as an automated 24/7 prerecorded-video playout service.
What to check before choosing a service
A 24/7 story channel is a continuous live broadcast made from prerecorded videos. The service needs to play and loop your files without relying on a computer in your home, and it must send the stream to YouTube using your channel’s stream key. Before committing, check:
- Whether it automatically loops prerecorded videos and can keep the broadcast running unattended.
- How many simultaneous streams are included, and what storage, resolution, and frame-rate limits apply.
- How scheduling, restarting, and recovery work if the connection to YouTube drops.
- The full cost for your intended number of channels and audience—not just the cost of encoding.
- YouTube’s current requirements for children’s content, including audience designation and any live-chat or advertising restrictions.
YouTube’s encoder setup requires enabling live streaming, selecting or creating a stream, and supplying the YouTube server URL and stream key to the encoder. First-time live streaming can take up to 24 hours to become available. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions before scheduling a launch.
Cloud services compared
| Service | Best fit | What is established | Main tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Creators who want uploaded videos to run continuously on YouTube without keeping a local computer on | Cloud looping and playlists, one always-on stream per slot, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot | It streams uploaded videos to YouTube; it is not a camera-based live production service |
| Gyre | Creators seeking a dedicated cloud service for looping prerecorded videos | YouTube lists Gyre for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. Gyre describes cloud looping and offers plans that vary by simultaneous streams, storage, and resolution | Paid plan limits and recurring cost; confirm that the selected tier supports your needs |
| AWS Elemental MediaLive with MediaPackage and CloudFront | Technical teams building a custom broadcast workflow | AWS documents a 24/7 live-channel architecture with encoding, packaging or origination, and viewer distribution components | Multiple services to configure and variable consumption costs; not the simplest route for a creator who only needs to loop stories |
| Restream | Creators who need a cloud studio or multistreaming as part of a live-production workflow | YouTube lists Restream among verified encoders | The available evidence does not establish it as an automated 24/7 prerecorded-video playout system |

3. AWS: a customizable architecture for technical teams
AWS describes a workflow in which MediaLive encodes, MediaPackage or MediaStore prepares or originates content, and CloudFront distributes it to viewers. The live-streaming solution supports HLS, DASH, and CMAF outputs. AWS’s deployment guide is aimed at infrastructure practitioners, so this is a better fit when you need a custom broadcast workflow and have the expertise to configure and operate its components—not simply because the channel needs to run overnight.
AWS’s published deployment examples are event estimates, not forecasts for a 24/7 kids’ channel. Retrieved October 3, 2026, the guide estimated $69.74 for a one-hour 540p event to approximately 1,000 viewers, including about $2.50 for encoding and packaging and $67.24 for distribution in US East (N. Virginia). Its estimate for a one-hour 1080p event to approximately 10,000 viewers was $1,505.60. Both figures depend on stated audience and bitrate assumptions; viewer count, bitrate, cache-hit ratio, region, and configuration affect costs. They should not be multiplied into a channel budget without modeling the actual service configuration and viewing pattern.

It also describes reserved pricing with a 12-month commitment and savings of up to 75% compared with on-demand rates. Confirm current rates and terms at AWS Elemental MediaLive pricing. YouTube lists Restream among verified encoders, and Restream is positioned as a cloud studio and multistreaming service. That is relevant if your workflow includes live production or distribution to multiple destinations. The available information does not establish it as an automated system for continuously looping prerecorded story files, so do not assume it is interchangeable with a dedicated playout service.

Plan the YouTube broadcast around its archive limit
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. A broadcast that runs continuously for more than 12 hours should not be treated as one automatically archived replay. If you need an accessible replay, plan separate sessions under the limit or make a separate recording, and verify YouTube’s current guidance before launch. YouTube explains its live workflow in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Children’s content: verify current channel settings and policies
Before going live, check YouTube’s current rules for made-for-kids content and livestreams. Confirm the correct audience designation for each video or stream and review any effects on live chat, advertising, and age-related restrictions. The service comparison here does not establish which designation applies to a particular story, nor does it settle YouTube’s current policy details; use YouTube’s up-to-date official policy materials and account controls.
Or let it run in the cloud
Upload your story videos to StreamNeo, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay powered on at home; videos stream at their uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. Start your free StreamNeo day.
