Choose settings for the barrier you face
If you are new to action games
Begin with the less demanding difficulty preset that feels manageable. Turn on Control Reminders or Tutorial Reminders if you want help recalling what actions do. The official PS5 listing confirms these options but does not rank presets or recommend one for beginners.
If timed prompts are difficult
Enable Simplified Quick Time Events on PS5. This assist is aimed at the timing challenge of on-screen prompts, so you can use it without assuming you also need to lower the overall challenge. PlayStation describes the option as reducing the challenge of timed prompts.

If the controller is uncomfortable
Review controller remapping, stick sensitivity, and inversion, then consider disabling motion controls, vibration, or adaptive trigger effects if those features are uncomfortable. PlayStation lists advanced controller remapping, basic stick sensitivity adjustment, advanced horizontal and vertical stick inversion, and the option to play without those controller effects. Check the in-game controls menu for the exact available mappings and labels.
If dialogue is hard to read or hear
On PS5, the PlayStation listing identifies fully subtitled spoken dialogue, advanced and clear subtitles, volume controls, and mono audio. Choose the presentation and audio options that suit you. Other platforms use different labels and feature sets; for example, the official support guide describes Xbox captions with clear/large presentation and Steam subtitle options.

If visuals or camera movement are uncomfortable
Check the platform-specific options for color alternatives, text readability, and camera comfort. The official support guide lists visual comfort features across its platform sections, but does not establish that every option is available on every system.
If you need to pause
PS5 supports pausing during gameplay or cinematics in offline play only. Do not rely on that option being available in online play.

007 First Light is a third-person action-adventure that combines stealth, unarmed and weapon combat, gadgets, and vehicles, according to PlayStation. A player may find one part manageable and another difficult; matching a targeted assist to the specific obstacle is therefore a reasonable approach, rather than assuming one difficulty choice addresses every access need.
