For a typical 1080p30 replay, start with H.264 at 10 Mbps CBR, progressive 1920×1080 video, a two-second keyframe interval, Rec. 709 SDR at 8-bit, and stereo AAC at 128 kbps/44.1 kHz. Use YouTube’s 12 Mbps H.264 recommendation instead for 1080p60. Hindi does not call for a separate bitrate or encoding profile; the source frame rate and codec determine the relevant settings.

Recommended settings at a glance

Setting Starting choice Notes
Ingest protocol RTMPS YouTube recommends RTMPS for encoder delivery. YouTube encoder settings.
Video codec H.264 This table and the command below use H.264. YouTube also lists live recommendations for H.265 and AV1; use the row for your actual codec if your workflow supports one. YouTube encoder settings.
Resolution and scan 1920×1080 progressive Keep square pixels and match the source cadence where practical.
Frame rate and H.264 bitrate 30 fps: 10 Mbps recommended, 5 Mbps minimum; 60 fps: 12 Mbps recommended, 6 Mbps minimum These are YouTube’s H.264 live-ingest figures, not a guarantee of stream quality. Choose based on the source frame rate and motion. YouTube encoder settings.
Rate control CBR YouTube lists CBR for live encoding.
Keyframes Every 2 seconds YouTube recommends a two-second interval and says not to exceed four seconds.
Color Rec. 709 SDR, 8-bit YouTube’s recommended SDR advanced settings.
Audio AAC stereo, 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz YouTube lists AAC or MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS; its stereo guidance is 128 kbps at 44.1 kHz.

All platform settings in the table are YouTube recommendations, not promises that every source file, FFmpeg build, or internet connection will produce a clean stream. For current guidance, see YouTube’s encoder settings.

FFmpeg command for a 1080p30 replay

This is an illustrative starting point for a 30 fps H.264 replay with stereo audio:

ffmpeg -re -i replay.mp4
  -vf "scale=1920:1080,fps=30"
  -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p
  -b:v 10M -minrate 10M -maxrate 10M -bufsize 20M
  -g 60 -keyint_min 60 -sc_threshold 0
  -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
  -f flv 'rtmps://<YouTube-ingest-url>/<stream-key>'

The command combines FFmpeg’s documented options with YouTube’s live recommendations; it has not been tested here and does not guarantee strict constant-rate output on every encoder build. Confirm that your FFmpeg build includes libx264. Replace the output placeholder with the RTMPS URL and stream key shown in YouTube Live Control Room. The -b:v option sets video bitrate; the GOP settings make a 60-frame interval, or two seconds at 30 fps. See the FFmpeg command documentation and libx264 options.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Adjust it for the source

  • For 1080p60: use 12 Mbps for H.264 and change the GOP interval to 120 frames (for example, -g 120 -keyint_min 120) to retain a two-second keyframe interval.
  • For 25 fps or another cadence: avoid converting to 30 fps automatically just to match the example. The reviewed YouTube bitrate table specifies 30 and 60 fps, not 25 fps. Preserve the source cadence where feasible and verify the resulting ingest in Live Control Room.
  • For lower-resolution or unusual source files: check the input’s properties before forcing 1920×1080. Scaling can enlarge a smaller image but cannot restore detail that was not in the source.

The example’s fps=30 filter converts the input to 30 fps, so remove or adjust it if preserving a different source cadence is the goal. Do not add -tune zerolatency by default for a prerecorded replay; the settings here do not establish a need for interactive low latency.

Why these settings fit a replay

Bitrate follows frame rate and codec, not language

At 1080p, YouTube’s H.264 live recommendation is 10 Mbps for 30 fps and 12 Mbps for 60 fps; its listed minimums are 5 Mbps and 6 Mbps. The separate YouTube recommendations for 1080p30 AV1/H.265 are 10 Mbps recommended and 4 Mbps minimum, and for 1080p60 they are 12 Mbps recommended and 4 Mbps minimum. These figures apply to live ingestion with the named codec. Do not substitute YouTube’s upload guidance: its separate recommendation for 1080p SDR uploads is 8 Mbps at standard frame rates and 12 Mbps at high frame rates. A Hindi news replay has no special encoding requirement in the cited YouTube guidance. Choose settings for the video’s actual resolution, frame cadence, codec, audio, and delivery connection rather than its spoken language.

Do not create 60 fps without a reason

If the recording was made at 25 or 30 fps, encoding it at 60 fps does not add genuine motion detail. YouTube’s recommendations are frame-rate-specific, so preserve the source rate when practical. Since the cited live table does not give a 25 fps recommendation, test the workflow and confirm what YouTube receives rather than presenting a 30 or 60 fps figure as official guidance for 25 fps.

Keyframes, color, and audio matter too

A two-second keyframe interval is YouTube’s recommendation, with four seconds as the maximum interval. Progressive scan, square pixels, Rec. 709 SDR at 8-bit, and stereo AAC at 128 kbps/44.1 kHz provide a clear baseline for a standard SDR replay. Keep the audio settings appropriate to the source; changing language does not itself require a different sample rate or bitrate.

Set up and validate the live stream

  1. Create or select the broadcast: Open YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the live stream, and copy the encoder’s stream URL and key into your FFmpeg output. Treat the stream key like a password. YouTube’s live streaming setup guidance explains the Live Control Room workflow.
  2. Check upload capacity: Test the connection you will actually use and choose settings it can sustain. YouTube recommends testing before going live and selecting settings appropriate to the connection. Leave practical headroom rather than assuming a speed-test peak will be sustained throughout the broadcast. YouTube encoder settings.
  3. Run a representative test: Use a sample with movement, transitions, and typical audio, not only a static slate. Start the encoder and watch YouTube’s stream health messages while it ingests.
  4. Check the detected stream: Confirm Live Control Room sees the expected resolution and frame rate. YouTube transcodes live streams into formats for viewers’ devices and network conditions; that does not correct a bad input encode or unstable ingest. YouTube live streaming overview.
  5. Choose latency deliberately: Select the latency mode in Live Control Room based on whether audience interaction matters. YouTube cautions that lower latency can increase playback buffering. DVR can allow viewers to pause and resume a live stream. YouTube encoder settings.

Copyright and channel-policy checks for news replays

  • Make sure you have the rights or permission to retransmit the footage, music, graphics, and other material in the recording. Being a news replay or having originally appeared on YouTube does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it.
  • Do not assume that a technically valid FFmpeg stream will avoid copyright claims or channel-policy consequences. Encoding settings affect delivery, not ownership or permission.
  • Review YouTube’s applicable live-streaming and monetization policies for your channel and content before scheduling a recurring replay. The settings guidance cited above addresses encoder delivery, not whether a particular program may be rebroadcast.

Troubleshooting common problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check
FFmpeg reports an unknown encoder or cannot use libx264 The installed build may not include the libx264 encoder. Use a build that includes libx264, or select an encoder available in your build and match the applicable YouTube codec guidance.
YouTube does not receive a stream The output URL or key may be wrong, or the connection may not be reaching the ingest endpoint. Copy the current RTMPS URL and stream key from Live Control Room; verify the key was not truncated or exposed, then check FFmpeg’s output and the connection.
Stream health reports bitrate or connection issues The connection may not sustain the configured bitrate, or the encoder may not be producing the intended rate behavior. Check upload capacity and the stream-health messages. Test at an appropriate lower setting if the connection cannot sustain the recommendation; confirm the actual output rather than relying on command flags alone.
Video looks juddery or motion is uneven The output frame rate may not match the source cadence. Check the input frame rate and remove unintended conversion in the filter chain. Do not convert 25/30 fps material to 60 fps without a production reason.
Audio is missing or out of sync The source audio stream or chosen audio settings may not be suitable. Check that the input contains the expected audio track, then verify AAC encoding and the output sample rate. Test using representative dialogue and transitions before the broadcast.
The stream is technically healthy but viewers report buffering Viewer connections, playback conditions, or an aggressive low-latency choice may contribute. Review Live Control Room’s latency choice; YouTube cautions that lower latency can mean more buffering. A stable ingest does not guarantee identical playback on every viewer connection.
