For a free local setup, use OBS Studio: add one bhajan video as a Media Source and turn on Loop. To rotate several bhajans, install VLC, add an OBS VLC Video Source, and enable Loop Playlist. OBS sends the broadcast to YouTube; the loop setting only repeats your media, so the computer and OBS must remain running.

OBS Studio is free and open source; the OBS Help Portal says it has no watermarks and may be used commercially without restrictions: OBS Help Portal. “Free” describes the software, not your electricity, internet connection, or computer.
Check YouTube eligibility before setting up
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days to enable live streaming. Check eligibility and create or open the intended broadcast in YouTube Studio before configuring OBS. YouTube lists encoder streaming among its ways to go live: YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
Set up one bhajan video in OBS
- Install OBS Studio. Download it from the official OBS Project site.
- Create a scene. In OBS, use the Scenes panel to create or select a scene for the broadcast.
- Add the video. In the Sources panel, select + → Media Source, create a source, and browse to the local bhajan video. OBS documents common formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM.
- Enable looping. In the Media Source properties, turn on Loop. Check that the preview plays and repeats before going live.
- Set up the YouTube encoder connection. In YouTube Studio, open the stream’s encoder settings and copy the stream key. In OBS, open Settings → Stream, select YouTube as the service, and connect using the stream key or the available account connection workflow. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it could send a stream to your channel.
- Check audio and picture. Confirm the video fits the canvas as intended, the audio meter moves during playback, and the sound is not clipping or muted. Monitor the YouTube Studio preview as the encoder connects.
- Test, then go live. OBS’s Quick Start Guide recommends testing settings for a few minutes before the first real stream. Start streaming in OBS and confirm that YouTube Studio receives the broadcast before sharing it with viewers. See the OBS Quick Start Guide.

Make a playlist of several bhajans with VLC
- Install VLC as well as OBS. The VLC Video Source will not appear unless VLC is installed. OBS specifies that 64-bit OBS requires a 64-bit VLC installation.
- Prepare the playlist in VLC. Add the bhajan files in the order you want them to play, and save or keep the playlist available locally.
- Add the source in OBS. In the Sources panel, select + → VLC Video Source and create a source.
- Select the playlist. Add the files or playlist in the source properties, then enable Loop Playlist.
- Preview the transitions. Check that each file plays, the order is correct, and audio is audible. If a file fails, confirm VLC can play it locally and that the OBS and VLC installations have matching 32-bit or 64-bit architecture.
- Connect and start the YouTube broadcast. Use the encoder workflow and monitoring steps above; the playlist source does not itself create a YouTube Live broadcast.

Choose stream settings and test your connection
Use the resolution, frame rate, and bitrate that your computer can encode reliably and your upload connection can sustain. Do not assume a higher setting is better: an unstable upload can cause dropped frames or a stalled broadcast. The right values depend on the source video, encoder, and network, so verify them against YouTube’s current encoder guidance and OBS’s Quick Start Guide rather than copying a setting that may not suit your setup.

- Use the YouTube stream’s encoder settings and current recommendations for resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval.
- In OBS, confirm the selected video and output settings match the intended stream, then watch the OBS status indicators for dropped frames or encoding lag during a test.
- Check the YouTube Studio preview and audio before announcing the stream.
- For a long broadcast, keep the computer plugged in, prevent sleep, and avoid relying on a connection that may change networks or disconnect.
Copyright: devotional music is not automatically cleared
YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in another live broadcast. If it detects third-party content, YouTube may replace the broadcast with a placeholder; if the content continues, the stream may be temporarily interrupted or terminated. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end a stream. Read YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams.
A bhajan’s religious or traditional subject does not establish that a particular recording is free to broadcast. Rights may apply to the recording, arrangement, performance, and accompanying visuals. Use your own material or obtain permission covering live streaming and any archived version. If you have licensed third-party material, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license by itself may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted.
