What happens when The New Denpa Men shuts down?
Genius Sonority’s official end-of-service announcement sets the shutdown for Monday, December 7, 2026, at 11:00 JST. Sales of paid items, including Jewels and packs, ended October 5, 2026, at 11:00 JST. The notice says in-game data, including Jewels and items, will no longer be available after service ends.

The company says unused paid currency will be refunded under Article 20, Paragraph 1 of Japan’s Payment Services Act. It will publish the refund request period and procedure after service ends. If you may be eligible for a refund, note your Support ID and keep the app installed until the process is complete. The ID can be checked in the app’s Support section through March 31, 2027; Genius Sonority advises against deleting the app or reinstalling it on a new device before the refund process is finished.

The announcement does not specify whether any part of the game will remain playable offline after service ends. It confirms that the game’s data will no longer be available, but does not say whether offline play will exist. Treat that detail as unresolved rather than assuming the app will either remain playable or become entirely unusable.

What makes The New Denpa Men hard to replace?
Nintendo describes The New Denpa Men as a free-to-play RPG where players catch mysterious Denpa Men associated with radio waves, make them companions, develop their characters and go on adventures. Nintendo’s official game listing also highlights island decoration, fishing, battles against other players’ parties, voucher collection and “Together Catch,” a local feature for up to four nearby players.
That combination matters when choosing a substitute. A game can offer creature recruitment and party battles without matching radio-wave-linked catching, local group play, island customization or the original’s free-to-play structure. None of the alternatives below is established as a one-for-one replacement for all those features.

DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince — for monster-party building on Switch
Nintendo’s Switch listing says Psaro becomes a Monster Wrangler and creates an army of monsters for battle. That makes the game a reasonable paid Switch choice if the part you most want to preserve is recruiting creatures and assembling a party.
It is a partial match, not a Denpa Men substitute in every respect. The cited listing does not establish radio-wave-based collection, island decoration, fishing or local Together Catch, so do not choose it expecting those specific systems.

THE DENPA MEN: They Came By Wave — for the closest premise
Nintendo UK describes THE DENPA MEN: They Came By Wave as a dungeon-based RPG in which players catch Denpa Men, form a party and go on adventures. Of the two alternatives covered here, it is the closest in theme and basic premise.
The listing identifies it as Nintendo 3DS download software, but does not establish whether it can still be purchased or downloaded now. Check the relevant regional storefront and your access to the 3DS software before counting on it as a playable replacement.

If you play The New Denpa Men on Switch 2, Genius Sonority’s April 6, 2026 release notice says that version supports cross-platform play and save data with the Switch version when both use the same Nintendo Account. The notice describes the game content as identical, with smoother visuals from a higher refresh rate and higher resolution on Switch 2. This explains the version difference; it does not establish whether either version will work after the service ends.
