Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 AMD with RTX 5070
The strongest default choice is the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 AMD in the configuration with a Ryzen 9 9955HX, RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, 32GB DDR5, 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD and a 16-inch 2560×1600 OLED 165Hz display.
Lenovo’s RTX 5070 Laptop GPU has 8GB of GDDR7 memory. That gives this model considerably more headroom than the game’s official minimum, while 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD avoid the most common compromises in cheaper systems. The 16-inch chassis is also better suited to sustained plugged-in gaming than an especially thin 14-inch design.
Lenovo listings observed for this class were approximately $2,185–$2,345 in the United States. That is a time-sensitive listing range, not a guaranteed permanent price. Verify the exact GPU, display and memory configuration before ordering, because the same Legion Pro 5 family also includes RTX 5060 versions.

Best portable choice: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14
ASUS lists the 2026 ROG Zephyrus G14 with a 14-inch 2880×1800 OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 coverage and configurations up to an RTX 5070 Ti. ASUS announced US availability from May 22, 2026, with a $3,599.99 MSRP for the stated RTX 5070 Ti configuration; retail pricing can differ.

This is the right alternative when portability, display quality and everyday work matter more than cost per frame. Its thin chassis generally leaves less room for sustained cooling, ports and upgrades than a larger performance laptop, and its 2880×1800 native resolution makes upscaling more useful in demanding scenes.
Best premium alternative: Legion Pro 7i Gen 10
Lenovo’s Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 listings include RTX 5080 configurations priced above $3,000. It is sensible for demanding future releases, content creation or an external high-resolution monitor, but it is overkill when RE4 is the principal game.

What laptop specifications do you actually need?
GPU and VRAM
Make the GPU your first priority after establishing a modern CPU baseline. The practical new-laptop floor is an RTX 4060 Laptop GPU, RTX 5060 Laptop GPU or equivalent, preferably with 8GB of VRAM. Six gigabytes can work in a value machine, but leaves less room for future games and high-resolution textures. An RTX 5070 is a stronger match for 1600p, while RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5080 hardware is justified mainly by other workloads.
Power limits and cooling
Two laptops carrying the same GPU name can perform differently because of wattage, firmware and cooling. Check the manufacturer’s specified GPU power limit and independent configuration details rather than comparing “RTX 5070” labels alone. A 15- or 16-inch chassis is usually the safer choice for sustained performance than an ultrathin design.

CPU, RAM and storage
- CPU: a modern Ryzen 7, Core Ultra 7, Core i7 H/HX or comparable processor is ample. Do not trade a stronger GPU for an unnecessarily expensive CPU.
- RAM: 16GB is the baseline for a new purchase; 32GB is preferable for recording, browsers, mods, multitasking and newer games. Avoid 8GB unless the memory is clearly upgradeable and the price is unusually low.
- SSD: choose a 1TB NVMe drive where possible. A 512GB drive becomes cramped quickly once Windows, updates, shader caches and several large games are installed.
Screen resolution and refresh rate
- 1080p: RTX 4060/5060 class is the sensible target.
- 1600p: RTX 5070 or better is a more comfortable match for high settings.
- 2880×1800: premium RTX 5070 Ti-class hardware may be appropriate, with upscaling likely in demanding scenes.
- External 4K: consider RTX 5070 Ti/5080 or higher if high settings and stable performance are priorities.
A 165Hz or 240Hz panel is useful for general responsiveness, but it does not mean RE4 must run at that frame rate. Stable frame pacing and image quality matter more for this cinematic game.
Ray tracing: treat it as an option
Capcom identifies RTX 2060 or RX 6700 XT desktop-class hardware for ray tracing. Ray tracing can reduce performance and is not required to enjoy the game. Prioritize raster performance and VRAM, then enable ray tracing cautiously and use DLSS or another supported upscaler if needed. See Capcom’s guidance at Capcom support.
How to set up RE4 on a gaming laptop
- Install Windows, laptop firmware and manufacturer updates.
- Install the latest graphics driver and plug in the AC adapter.
- Select the manufacturer’s performance mode.
- Confirm that the game uses the discrete GPU rather than integrated graphics.
- Start at 1080p or the panel’s native resolution, with ray tracing disabled.
- Use the in-game benchmark or a repeatable scene while changing one setting at a time.
If a dual-GPU laptop has launch or performance problems, Capcom lists disabling integrated graphics in the BIOS as a troubleshooting option. BIOS menus vary, and doing so can affect battery life and display routing, so it is not a universal first step: Capcom’s troubleshooting guide.

- Want maximum future headroom: RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5080, especially for an external high-resolution monitor.
- Already own an RTX 3060-class laptop: upgrade only if you need a better display, ray-tracing performance, higher resolution or stronger results in other games; the official minimum alone is not a reason to replace a working system.
