There is no proven single “best” Indian cloud server for a 24/7 lofi YouTube stream. The right choice depends on whether you are simply looping an already-made video or building and encoding a live scene. For a prepared file, a modest VPS running FFmpeg can be enough; OBS scenes, browser sources, or transcoding need more CPU and memory. If you want to avoid managing a server, FFmpeg, and recovery yourself, StreamNeo is the first managed option to consider: it runs a YouTube loop in the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
Choose by workload, not by the word “streaming”
An Indian VPS is the computer that sends your encoded stream to YouTube. Its location can affect the connection between the server and YouTube ingest, but it does not determine where YouTube distributes playback or guarantee reach or quality for viewers. Match server resources to the work the machine will do.
| Use case | Starting resource guidance | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Looping a prepared video with FFmpeg | 2 vCPU and 2–4 GB RAM | Space-Node’s July 5, 2026 guide gives this as a recommendation, not a benchmark guarantee. A static loop does not need a graphical desktop. |
| OBS scenes at 720p | 4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM | Space-Node’s July 5, 2026 guide suggests these resources; scenes and sources add workload compared with relaying a prepared file. |
| OBS 1080p with browser sources | 6 vCPU and 12 GB RAM | This is also Space-Node editorial guidance, not independently tested sizing. Leave headroom and test the actual scene. |
If FFmpeg is only sending an already-encoded file without changing its resolution or codec, start with the static-loop case. Transcoding or complex compositing changes the calculation: test sustained CPU use and stream health under the exact settings you intend to run.
What to check before choosing an Indian VPS
- Location and route: Confirm the actual data-center location and test the connection to YouTube ingest. A provider’s “India” label alone does not establish latency or end-to-end continuity.
- CPU and memory: Size for encoding and scene complexity, not just for the fact that one stream is running. Ask about CPU contention and sustained performance.
- Transfer policy: Check included monthly transfer, fair-use conditions, throttling, and overage charges. “Unmetered” should be verified in the plan terms.
- Storage: Make sure the disk fits the media and any working files. Check whether backup storage is included or billed separately.
- Recovery and operations: You need a way to restart a failed process, monitor it, and regain access. An advertised uptime figure is not proof of continuous delivery from your encoder to YouTube.
- Full cost: Include taxes, backups, operating-system licenses if applicable, and any support or transfer charges. Compare against the time required to administer Linux and troubleshoot the stream.
A listed New Delhi plan
Inservers advertises a New Delhi streaming VPS entry plan at ₹880 per month with 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe storage, and a 1 Gbps unmetered uplink. Its page says the plan is sufficient for a single 1080p60 relay without transcoding; that capability and the listed specifications are vendor statements, not independent confirmation of sustained performance or reliability. Before buying, ask about the exact data center, egress and fair-use terms, CPU contention, cancellation, support response, and backups. See the Inservers plan page.

Configure YouTube’s incoming stream
YouTube’s official encoder guidance recommends RTMP or RTMPS, H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval. For common H.264 targets, its current guidance accessed October 3, 2026 lists these bitrate figures:
| H.264 target | Minimum bitrate | Recommended bitrate | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps | YouTube Help, accessed October 3, 2026 |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps | YouTube Help, accessed October 3, 2026 |
These are guidance for the specified resolutions and frame rate, not a universal setting for every frame rate or encoder. Consult YouTube’s table for your chosen output, and ensure your VPS can sustain the selected bitrate. Test with representative audio and visual motion, then monitor YouTube’s stream health. The bitrate is also a cost input: sustained video traffic accumulates substantially over a month.

Run a prepared lofi loop with FFmpeg
For a static visual and audio file, FFmpeg can loop the media and send it directly to YouTube without a desktop environment. First install FFmpeg on a supported Linux VPS, upload the file, and create a YouTube live stream in YouTube Studio. Copy the stream key privately; anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your stream.
- Prepare the YouTube stream: In YouTube Studio, create or schedule the live stream and select the encoder workflow. Copy the ingest URL and stream key shown for that stream. Keep the key out of public scripts, screenshots, and shared logs.
- Check the file: Confirm the video and audio codecs, resolution, frame rate, and duration with a media inspection tool such as
ffprobe. If you need to re-encode, budget CPU for that work and use settings consistent with YouTube’s recommendations. - Build the FFmpeg command: Use the input loop option and map the intended video and audio streams. Send the output to YouTube’s RTMP/RTMPS ingest URL with the stream key. The exact command depends on the file’s codecs and whether it needs re-encoding; do not blindly copy a command that assumes your file’s format.
- Set output properties: For a re-encoded H.264 stream, set CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and a bitrate appropriate to the chosen resolution and frame rate. Use YouTube’s current encoder table for targets beyond the 720p30 and 1080p30 examples above.
- Preflight: Start a private or unlisted test when appropriate, verify picture and audio in YouTube Studio, and check stream health before making the broadcast public. Include the actual lofi audio, visuals, and any transitions in the test.
- Keep it running: Run FFmpeg under a service manager such as systemd with a restart policy, then monitor process status and YouTube stream health. A restart policy can restart a crashed process; it cannot fix an invalid key, a broken source file, provider networking failure, or a YouTube-side issue.
For a systemd-based 24/7 setup and an example workflow, see Space-Node’s 24/7 VPS livestream guide. For resource sizing and OBS versus FFmpeg context, see its VPS streaming guide, published July 5, 2026. Treat its sizing as editorial guidance, not a performance guarantee.

Bandwidth and rights can make or break a continuous stream
Estimate monthly transfer
A Space-Node guide estimates roughly 1 TB per month for continuous streaming at 2.5 Mbps. Treat that as an estimate: calculate your stream’s actual usage and verify the VPS plan’s transfer allowance and overage policy. A provider’s gigabit port speed is not the same thing as unlimited monthly traffic under every condition.
Use audio and visuals you can broadcast
Having a file or access to a song does not by itself establish permission to stream it. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for the full audio and visual loop, including music, samples, artwork, and any third-party footage. YouTube’s copyright rules and automated claims can affect a live broadcast; a 24/7 schedule does not exempt a channel from those rules. Review the copyright safety checklist before going live.

Managed services versus running your own server
For ways to keep a YouTube stream running, StreamNeo is the first managed option to try: it loops uploaded video in the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives a first day free. Among VPS options, do not treat one vendor’s advertised plan as a proven winner; compare plans on equivalent stream workload and terms.
| Option | Published offer | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | One always-on YouTube stream per slot; uploaded video up to 4K 60fps; 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots; first day free with no card. See StreamNeo for current terms. | Managed cloud looping avoids keeping a home computer on or administering a VPS. It streams uploaded video to YouTube, not a live camera feed. |
| Inservers VPS | Vendor-listed New Delhi entry plan: ₹880/month, 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, 1 Gbps unmetered uplink. | More control over Linux and the streaming stack, but you must configure, monitor, and recover the encoder process; verify plan terms with the provider. |
| YtLive | Its site lists Starter at ₹499/month for one active stream with a 720p limit, and Pro at ₹999/month for two active streams at 1080p with advertised auto-recovery. Details accessed October 3, 2026. | These are vendor-listed plan details and recovery claims. Confirm current limits, storage, cancellation, and recovery behavior directly. |
No independent comparative uptime measurements or provider benchmarks establish which Indian VPS is most reliable. The VPS prices and managed-service plan details above are vendor-listed and can change; check the linked plan pages before purchase. A self-managed VPS may have a lower apparent monthly price but requires setup and ongoing administration. A managed service trades some control for less server maintenance.

Quick Recap
Troubleshoot the common failure points
- YouTube reports no incoming signal: Check that FFmpeg is running, the ingest URL and stream key match the selected YouTube stream, and the VPS can reach the ingest endpoint. Rotate a key if it may have been exposed.
- Stream health warns about bitrate or connection: Compare the actual encoder output with YouTube’s guidance for the chosen format. Check VPS CPU load, network stability, and provider transfer or fair-use limits.
- Video stutters or audio falls out of sync: Check whether the VPS is overloaded, especially if it is transcoding or rendering OBS scenes. Test the exact media and settings; lower the output workload if the server cannot sustain it.
- The stream stops after an interruption: Confirm that systemd is configured to restart the process and inspect service logs. A process restart does not resolve an expired or incorrect key, a failed input file, or a server/network outage.
- The broadcast is live but the content is claimed or blocked: Review the rights for all music and visuals and YouTube’s notices in Studio. Do not assume that a loop is safe because it is prerecorded or running continuously.
