Best overall for competitive Fortnite: the Razer Viper V3 Pro, if you prefer a light, symmetrical mouse and use a fingertip or claw grip. The Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 is the leading alternative for players who prefer its shape or Logitech’s ecosystem. Neither is automatically right for every hand: fit, grip and price matter more than a headline DPI figure.
This guide keeps the 2025 shortlist in view while reflecting the current market as of September 2026. Newer models exist, so the recommendations below are not a claim that every product was available during 2025.
Best Fortnite mice at a glance
| Mouse | Best for | What stands out | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Razer Viper V3 Pro | Competitive fingertip or claw grip | Light symmetrical shell; up to 8,000 Hz polling | Premium price; may not suit palm grip |
| Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 | Players who prefer Logitech’s Pro shape and ecosystem | Lightweight LIGHTSPEED wireless design | Heavier than the Viper V3 Pro in RTINGS’ comparison |
| Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT | Buyers who find it substantially discounted | Still widely used by tracked Fortnite professionals | Older generation; value depends on sale price |
| Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX | Right-handed players seeking a larger ergonomic shape | More sculpted right-handed fit | Choose for shape, not as a universal performance upgrade |
| Razer Basilisk V3 Pro | Players who want extra controls | More programmable buttons for customized layouts | Bulkier and less focused on minimum weight |
No current prices are listed here: they vary by retailer, region, color and promotion, and a meaningful value recommendation requires comparing the actual prices available to you.
Our top picks
Razer Viper V3 Pro: best overall for competitive play
The Viper V3 Pro is the strongest default pick for a player who wants a light wireless mouse with a symmetrical shape. In RTINGS’ direct comparison, it weighs about 53.8 g, versus about 59.4 g for the SUPERLIGHT 2; RTINGS also favors the Razer for build quality and stock feet. Those are comparison results, not a guarantee that it will feel better in your hand. See RTINGS’ Viper V3 Pro vs. SUPERLIGHT 2 comparison.
#1 Best Overall
- HERO Gaming Sensor: Next generation HERO mouse sensor delivers precision tracking up to 25600 DPI with zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration
- 11 programmable buttons and dual mode hyper-fast scroll wheel: The Logitech wired gaming mouse gives you fully customizable control over your gameplay
- Adjustable weights: Match your playing style. Arrange up to five 3.6 g weights for a personalized weight and balance configuration
- LIGHTSYNC technology: Logitech G LIGHTSYNC technology provides fully customizable RGB lighting that can also synchronize with your gaming (requires Logitech Gaming Software)
- Mechanical Switch Button Tensioning: A metal spring tensioning system and metal pivot hinges are built into left and right computer gaming mouse buttons for a crisp, clean click feel with rapid click feedback
Razer specifies HyperSpeed wireless, a Focus Pro 35K-class sensor and support for up to 8,000 Hz HyperPolling with a compatible setup. The maximum polling rate is an option, not the rate every Fortnite player should use. Check the Viper V3 Pro’s official specifications.
- Choose it if: you use fingertip or claw grip, want a light symmetrical shell, and value smooth stock glide.
- Skip it if: you need a tall, sculpted palm-rest shape, want many side buttons, or a competing mouse fits your hand better at a lower price.
Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2: best alternative
The SUPERLIGHT 2 is a sensible alternative if you know you like the Pro-style shape or prefer Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED system and software ecosystem. RTINGS’ comparison identifies both it and the Viper V3 Pro as high-performance wireless mice, with the Logitech weighing about 59.4 g in that comparison. View Logitech’s PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 product page.
- Choose it if: its shape suits your hand, you already use Logitech gear, or its current price is better than the Razer’s.
- Skip it if: you are paying a similar premium for a shape you have not tried and your priority is minimizing weight.
Check the full model name before ordering. The original G Pro Wireless, G PRO X SUPERLIGHT, G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2, G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX and G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE are different products, not interchangeable names.
Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT: buy when the discount is substantial
The original SUPERLIGHT remains a reasonable option when it costs meaningfully less than current alternatives. ProSettings’ current Fortnite tracking lists the original ahead of the SUPERLIGHT 2 by player usage, but popularity is not a controlled test and does not prove the older mouse performs better. Compare the exact model and sale price rather than treating the usage ranking as a technical verdict. See ProSettings’ Fortnite mouse usage snapshot.

- Any Button is Reassignable - 11 programmable buttons are all editable with customizable tactical keybinds in whatever game or work you are engaging. 1 rapid fire + 2 side macro buttons offer you a better gaming and working experience.
- Comfort Grip with Details - The skin-friendly frosted coating is the main comfort grip of the mouse surface, which offers you the most enjoyable fingerprint-free tactility. The left side equipped with rubber texture strengthened the friction and made the mouse easier to control.
- 5 Decent Backlit Modes - Turn the backlit on and make some kills in your gaming battlefield. The hyped dynamic RGB backlit vibe will never let you down when decorating your gaming space, it would be better with other Redragon accessories with lights on.
- Fatigue Killer with Ergonomic Design - Solid frame with a streamlined and general claw-grip design offers a satisfying and comfortable gaming experience with less fatigue even though after hours of use.
Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX: ergonomic Logitech option
The DEX is the shape-first choice for a right-handed player who wants a larger, more sculpted shell instead of a symmetrical one. RTINGS reports performance broadly similar to the Viper V3 Pro in its comparison, while favoring the Viper’s stock feet. The reason to choose the DEX is whether its shape gives you a more comfortable, controlled grip. Read RTINGS’ DEX vs. Viper V3 Pro comparison.
Razer Basilisk V3 Pro: extra controls over minimum weight
Consider the Basilisk V3 Pro if you specifically want additional programmable controls or a fuller ergonomic body for a build-heavy layout. Extra buttons can be useful, but they can also be hit accidentally during a tight claw or fingertip grip. Fortnite-focused coverage has presented it as a build-mode option rather than the default aim-focused lightweight pick. See WePC’s Fortnite mouse guide.
For a palm-grip mouse in the DeathAdder family, confirm the exact model, availability and dimensions in your market before buying. Current broader mouse coverage includes newer models such as the DeathAdder V4 Pro, which should be treated as a later-market option rather than silently folded into a 2025 product list. See TechRadar’s current gaming-mouse coverage.
Viper V3 Pro vs. SUPERLIGHT 2
| Consideration | Razer Viper V3 Pro | Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Weight in RTINGS’ comparison | About 53.8 g | About 59.4 g |
| Shape | Symmetrical, low-profile esports shape | Symmetrical Pro-style shape |
| Wireless system | Razer HyperSpeed | Logitech LIGHTSPEED |
| Polling-rate positioning | Up to 8,000 Hz with compatible setup | Check the exact firmware and receiver configuration for your revision |
| Comparison advantage | Lower weight, build quality and stock feet in RTINGS’ comparison | Choose for preferred shape, ecosystem or better current price |
Pick the Viper if lower weight and its symmetrical shape suit your grip. Pick the SUPERLIGHT 2 if you prefer its feel, are already invested in Logitech’s ecosystem, or find it at a better price. If neither fits your hand, a larger ergonomic model is a better direction than forcing a choice between these two.

How to choose a mouse for Fortnite
Start with shape, grip and hand size
Shape affects how your fingers reach the buttons, how much palm support you get, and whether the mouse feels stable during small corrections. A symmetrical shell is not necessarily truly ambidextrous: the Viper V3 Pro is symmetrical in shape, but that does not mean it has usable buttons on both sides for left-handed operation.
| Your preference | Direction to consider |
|---|---|
| Fingertip or aggressive claw | Light, low symmetrical shell such as the Viper V3 Pro |
| Relaxed claw or mixed grip | Compare the Viper V3 Pro and SUPERLIGHT 2 against your hand dimensions |
| Palm grip or right-handed ergonomic support | Consider a DeathAdder-style shape or the SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX |
| Small hands | Check exact length, width and height; “compact” is not a reliable substitute for dimensions |
| Large hands | Look for adequate shell length and height rather than choosing by weight alone |
| Many mouse-bound actions | Try a model with more buttons, but test for accidental presses |
Measure hand length from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger, then compare the mouse’s published dimensions. If possible, buy from a retailer with a clear return policy: tension, finger overextension, weak micro-adjustments and accidental side-button presses are all signs that a well-reviewed mouse may still be the wrong fit.
Choose weight for control, not as a score
Fortnite involves broad camera turns, quick edits, target flicks and tracking. A lighter mouse can feel easier to move during low- or medium-sensitivity arm aiming and may reduce fatigue for some players. A heavier mouse can feel steadier or more supportive, especially for a player who prefers palm grip. Treat the roughly 5.6 g gap between the two leading mice as a preference to test, not a promised performance gain.
Do not buy on maximum DPI
The Viper V3 Pro’s 35K-class sensor specification does not make it inherently more accurate in ordinary Fortnite play. Most players should choose a comfortable DPI and adjust Fortnite’s X/Y, ADS, build and edit settings to suit their control. These settings interact but are not the same thing; there is no single professional sensitivity that everyone should copy.

- DURABLE MECHANICAL SWITCHES — Supports up to 10 million clicks
- RIDGED, RUBBERIZED SCROLL WHEEL FOR MAXIMUM ACCURACY — Small, tactile bumps increases grip and allows for more controlled scrolling in high-stakes gaming situations

Use 8,000 Hz only if it suits your setup
A higher polling rate shortens the interval between mouse reports and may make movement look marginally smoother on a high-refresh display. It also raises battery and system demands, and the benefit depends on display refresh, game settings and PC performance. It does not improve aim by itself. Prioritize stable frame rates, a comfortable shape and consistent sensitivity before paying extra for a higher polling-rate feature.
Wireless or wired?
Modern premium wireless implementations are viable for competitive play when the receiver connection is stable and configured properly. Wireless removes cable drag during wide arm movements; wired avoids charging and can cost less. Neither connection type is categorically faster in every setup. Check battery and firmware before long sessions, keep a wired fallback if supported, and place the receiver close to the mouse.
Buttons, feet and software
- Buttons: Two side buttons are enough for many players. Assignments vary by layout; extra controls are useful only if you can reach them reliably without changing your grip.
- Feet and pad: Stock glide depends on both mouse feet and surface. Cloth, hybrid, glass and control pads can feel quite different; do not assume a mouse will glide the same on every pad.
- Software: Check support for button remapping, DPI, polling rate, lift-off distance and firmware updates. Onboard profiles are useful if you want settings to travel with the mouse.
- Platform: Confirm that your PC or console supports the mouse and receiver, and check whether its features work on that platform. Do not assume every mouse function carries over to every console.
What professional-player popularity tells you—and what it does not
ProSettings’ tracked snapshot covers 337 Fortnite professionals and places the Viper V3 Pro first, followed by the original G Pro X Superlight and then the SUPERLIGHT 2. That is evidence of adoption in that tracked group, not a controlled performance result or a guarantee of fit. Player history, sponsorship, availability and personal preference can all shape what professionals use. Check the Fortnite mouse tracking page.
When changing mice will not fix the problem
A new mouse can improve comfort, eliminate cable drag or give you more predictable glide, but it cannot supply aim or consistent edits on its own. If input feels inconsistent, check the full chain before replacing hardware: frame-rate and frame-time stability, display latency, mouse-pad condition, sensitivity consistency, Windows pointer settings, receiver placement, battery and fatigue can all contribute.
Best Value
- ICONIC ERGONOMIC DESIGN WITH THUMB REST — PC gaming mouse favored by millions worldwide with a form factor that perfectly supports the hand while its buttons are optimally positioned for quick and easy access
- 11 PROGRAMMABLE BUTTONS — Assign macros and secondary functions across 11 programmable buttons to execute essential actions like push-to-talk, ping, and more

- OPTICAL MOUSE SWITCHES GEN 2 — With zero unintended misclicks these switches provide crisp, responsive execution at a blistering 0.2ms actuation speed for up to 70 million clicks
If a wireless mouse skips or feels erratic, work through these checks:
- Move the receiver closer to the mouse; use the included extension cable if one is supplied.
- Update the mouse and receiver firmware, then check the battery charge.
- Try another USB port and temporarily reduce nearby wireless interference.
- Test wired operation if the mouse supports it, to help isolate a wireless connection issue.
- Check Fortnite frame-time stability before concluding the mouse is at fault.
Test unfamiliar side-button assignments in Creative mode before relying on them in a competitive match.
How the 2025 shortlist relates to newer mice
The “2025” framing is historical, not a claim that the market stopped there. As of September 2026, broader coverage includes later products such as the Razer Viper V4 Pro and Logitech G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE. The available evidence here does not establish their exact regional pricing, availability, dimensions or comparative Fortnite performance, so they are not ranked against the shortlist above. See Tom’s Guide’s SUPERSTRIKE review.
