For an always-on YouTube channel that plays uploaded videos while your computer is off, a cloud playout service is the simplest fit. StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. Other cloud tools specialize in scheduling, live edits, or combining a playlist with a live show. A home PC or server gives you more hands-on control but has to be maintained.
Which kind of playlist automation fits your channel?
Choose based on what the channel needs to do, not just whether a service says it can loop videos. A simple continuous loop, a calendar of scheduled programmes, changes made without stopping the broadcast, and switching from prerecorded video to a live studio are different workflows.
| Option | Hosting and playlist workflow | Scheduling or live changes | Recovery and destinations | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud service; upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and start the loop. Streams to YouTube. | 24/7 looping and playlists; scheduling details are not stated here. | Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. No independent reliability test is established here. | Creators who want a YouTube-only loop running without keeping a computer on, with any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot and a free first day. |
| Upstream | Cloud playback of uploaded videos, in order or shuffled, on a loop. | Scheduling details are not stated here. | The vendor claims automatic restarts after platform time limits and up to ten destinations from one stream. These are vendor claims, not independent test results. | Creators who want ordered or shuffled loops and may need multiple destinations. |
| Playout.video | Cloud channels with drag-and-drop playlists and per-slot fallback. | Vendor describes recurring calendar schedules, inline playlist changes, and a hybrid mode that switches from a loop to a live studio segment and back without stopping the broadcast. | Vendor claims automatic recovery and multistreaming to 20+ platforms; verify current plan limits and availability directly. | Channels with schedules, fallback content, or transitions between prerecorded programming and a live show. |
| Livepush | Cloud playlist playback on its servers, without a local computer or OBS. | Vendor says videos can be added, removed, swapped, and reordered while live. | Continuous looping requires the Creators plan or above, according to the product page. Other recovery details are not stated here. | Creators who expect to adjust their playlist while it is on air. |
| LiveGoLive | Vendor describes a cloud encoder that turns uploaded media into a continuous YouTube broadcast. | Not stated here. | Vendor says it reconnects after transient interruptions. Its page presents a waitlist, so availability and current terms need confirmation. | Worth checking only if its waitlist and operating terms suit your plans. |
| Self-managed OBS PC or server | Run OBS on a home computer or install and operate playout software on a server. | Direct operator control; scheduling and playlist features depend on the software and setup you choose. | You manage hardware, software, connectivity, and recovery yourself. | Operators willing to maintain the equipment and troubleshoot interruptions in exchange for hands-on control. |
Cloud services remove the need to leave your own computer running, according to their product descriptions. That does not establish uninterrupted uptime or stream quality: vendor feature claims are not independent reliability tests. Similarly, claims about discoverability, watch time, or other audience outcomes do not establish that automation will grow a channel.
Cloud tools: where their workflows differ
StreamNeo: a straightforward YouTube loop
StreamNeo keeps uploaded videos looping from the cloud, so your computer and home internet connection do not have to remain on. Each slot includes one always-on YouTube stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. Uploaded video is streamed as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode and no quality tiers. All plans include the same product; only the billing length changes. See StreamNeo for current details.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Upstream: ordered or shuffled loops
Upstream describes uploading videos once and playing them in order or shuffled while your computer is off. Its product page also claims automatic restarts after platform time limits and up to ten destinations from one stream. Treat those as vendor-described features, not verified uptime or performance results. Check its current plan terms to confirm that the exact workflow and destinations you need are available.
Playout.video: schedules and a live-show hybrid
Playout.video describes continuous cloud channels, drag-and-drop playlists, recurring calendar schedules, per-slot fallback, and inline playlist changes. Its hybrid mode is designed to switch from a loop into a live studio segment and back without stopping the broadcast. The vendor also claims automatic recovery and multistreaming to 20+ platforms. Confirm present plan availability and limits with the provider; the listed capabilities and performance claims are not independently verified here.
Livepush: edit a playlist while it is live
Livepush says its servers run playlists without a local computer or OBS and allow videos to be added, removed, swapped, or reordered during playback. Its product page says continuous looping requires the Creators plan or above. Check the plan details before relying on that mode; promotional claims about discoverability or watch time are not evidence of a particular channel outcome.

- Hosting model: Confirm whether playback runs in the provider’s cloud, on your own computer, or on a server you operate. Cloud hosting avoids leaving your own machine online but does not guarantee uninterrupted service.
- Playlist behavior: Check whether the service supports ordered playback, shuffle, looping, fallback video, or edits while live. Do not assume that “playlist” includes every control.
- Scheduling and show transitions: If the channel needs recurring calendar slots or a change from prerecorded programming to a live studio, verify that exact workflow and whether it is included in the plan you would use.
- Recovery: Ask what happens after a dropped YouTube connection or a platform time limit, and whether recovery is automatic. A provider’s description is a feature claim, not proof of reliability.
- Destinations: Confirm that YouTube is supported and check any destination limit if you also need other platforms. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only.
- Plan and channel limits: Verify the plan needed for continuous looping, number of channels or slots, storage, and any scheduling or multistreaming limits. These can change; rely on the provider’s current terms.
- Rights and originality: Make sure you have rights to all video and music, and consider whether the programming is sufficiently original and valuable for YouTube’s policies.
- Recording: Decide how you will keep an archive if the live stream is too long for YouTube to capture or the stream ends unexpectedly.
YouTube rules and archive limits to plan around
Get live-stream access ready in advance
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days to start streaming. Google’s live-streaming guide advises enabling live streaming at least 24 hours ahead, verifying the account, testing the full setup, and scheduling the stream. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements and the live-streaming guide before your planned start.
Do not rely on YouTube as the only archive
YouTube Help says a stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If keeping a recording matters, maintain a local archive or another recording plan rather than relying on YouTube alone. See YouTube’s archive live streams guidance.

Automation does not make repetitive content monetizable
YouTube’s monetization guidance applies to livestreams and expects original, authentic content. Generic, repetitive, or mass-produced material can be ineligible. A continuous playlist is not, by itself, proof that content meets monetization rules; review YouTube’s channel monetization policies for how they apply to your programming.
Secure the rights to everything you broadcast
YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights to the content, including applicable music licensing rights. A track or video being available online does not establish that you may rebroadcast it. Check YouTube’s Terms of Service and obtain the permissions your content requires.

Do not budget around guaranteed live-stream ad delivery
YouTube lists ads, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and memberships as possible live-stream revenue features, but says ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Neither continuous airtime nor an automation feature guarantees revenue, audience growth, or ad delivery. See YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance.

DIY alternative: run OBS or a server yourself
A self-managed setup avoids relying on a cloud playlist provider, but you take responsibility for keeping the system running. The available vendor comparison describes a home PC with OBS scenes and a loop plugin, or a playout server that requires installing and maintaining software. Specific OBS settings and server software requirements depend on the media and tools you select; no particular bitrate, encoding configuration, or machine is established here.
- Choose where playback will run. For a home setup, use a computer you can leave on and keep connected. For a server, confirm that you can install and maintain the playout software there.
- Prepare and test your playlist. Confirm that every file plays as intended in your chosen software and decide whether the order should repeat or shuffle. Test the complete loop before relying on it for a long broadcast.
- Connect the broadcast to YouTube. Use YouTube’s live-stream setup and the streaming software’s documented connection process. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Test the full path before leaving it unattended. Check playback, sound, network stability, and what happens if the software or connection stops. Arrange a way to notice and recover from a failure.
- Plan for heat, power, and records. A continuously running computer or server needs suitable cooling, power, network access, and maintenance. Keep a separate archive if the broadcast needs to be preserved.
A mini PC is one possible DIY search path, but there is no particular model validated here. Compare encoding support, cooling, network connectivity, storage, and replacement or support terms before choosing hardware.
