For an education channel that needs a pre-recorded library to play as a 24/7 YouTube stream, use a hosted streaming service; choose native YouTube playlists if you only need to order videos for viewers, and consider a browser-based live studio if you also produce live sessions.
Playlist management is not the same as 24/7 broadcasting
YouTube Studio lets channel owners create and manage playlists, choose visibility, and reorder videos. That is useful for arranging lessons, revision videos, or a course series on a channel. It does not mean YouTube will turn that playlist into a continuous live stream.
A 24/7 education stream needs a separate broadcast workflow: a service or streaming setup must take the chosen media, play it in order, and send an ongoing live feed to YouTube. The playlist controls and the broadcast engine solve different problems.
Compare the options by workflow
| Option | What it does | Playlist and media workflow | Computer and destinations | Limits or best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo | Hosted service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. | Upload recordings or build a playlist; add the YouTube stream key once, then go live. Includes 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots. | Runs in the cloud, so a personal computer need not stay on. YouTube only. | For a continuously looping education library. One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; first day is free, with no card required. |
| YouTube Studio playlists | Native organization of videos on a YouTube channel. | Create playlists, set visibility, and reorder items in YouTube Studio. | Does not itself broadcast a continuous live stream. | Best when the goal is an ordered, on-demand course playlist rather than a live channel. |
| OneStream Live | Hosted 24/7 streaming feature. | Its help page says content can come from a device or cloud storage. | The documented 24/7 feature is YouTube-only and does not require the creator’s computer to remain online. | OneStream Live’s Help Center, last updated September 3, 2026, says 24/7 streaming requires Enterprise and has a maximum duration of 30 days. Confirm current terms before choosing a plan. |
| Looping Stream | Cloud service for continuous playback of media to a streaming destination. | Arrange one or more files into a playlist and send them to a destination. | The vendor says its cloud workers stream without the creator’s computer online; supports YouTube or another RTMP destination. | Worth evaluating when playlist order and cloud playback are the central needs. Its landing page does not establish independent uptime or reliability results. |
| Playout.video | Browser-based live production with always-on streaming and multistreaming features advertised by the vendor. | Potential fit for teams combining scheduled or continuous playback with live production. | Vendor page advertises multistreaming; specific destination limits are not established here. | Consider it when a live studio matters alongside an always-on stream. The cited material does not establish a specific education workflow or comparative reliability. |
| OBS Studio | Local software route for producing a YouTube broadcast. | Can be used as part of a broadcast workflow, but you must manage the media playback and stream operation yourself. | Runs on your own computer; that machine and its connection must remain available for a continuous stream. | Useful for hands-on production control, but it is not a hosted playlist manager. The available OBS forum guide is from 2015, so check current OBS documentation for interface details. |
Choose the setup that matches your teaching channel
Use YouTube Studio when you want an on-demand course sequence
If learners should choose when to watch lessons, a standard playlist is the simplest option. Organize videos in the intended order, set the appropriate visibility, and share the playlist. There is no reason to operate a live broadcast merely to make an ordered set of videos available.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use a hosted broadcaster for a channel that should stay live
If the goal is a continuous channel—such as a rotating library of recorded lessons, exam preparation, or subject explainers—evaluate hosted services that explicitly support 24/7 streaming. Compare whether they accept files from your device or cloud storage, let you edit order, keep running without your computer, and impose a maximum duration or plan gate. Do not infer reliability from a feature page: the vendor descriptions available here are not independent uptime tests.
Use a live studio if the stream includes live teaching
A browser-based production tool may suit a team that alternates recorded material with live lessons or needs a live production workflow. Check the service’s current destination and multistreaming support rather than assuming every advertised feature applies to YouTube or to every plan.

Use OBS when local control is worth the operational burden
OBS is a do-it-yourself route, not a cloud playlist service. A local setup can provide direct control over a broadcast, but an always-on channel depends on the streaming computer, playback process, power, and network continuing to work. The cited OBS guide is dated, so verify current account-linking and broadcast controls in current OBS materials rather than relying on old screenshots.
Check channel access and content rights before launch
Confirm YouTube live-stream eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days to enable live streaming. YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as ways to go live. Confirm access in YouTube Studio and select the method appropriate to the broadcast workflow.

Clear the rights for every video in the rotation
Live content must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Having a video in a YouTube playlist does not, by itself, establish permission to rebroadcast it in a live stream. Confirm that your school, organization, or channel has the necessary rights for each lesson, music track, image, and other included material; the rights question depends on the specific library.
Account for made-for-kids playlist behavior
YouTube Help describes a limitation when adding a made-for-kids video to a playlist from a homepage: that route does not allow the addition, while adding the video from search results remains possible. If a lesson is marked made for kids, use the supported route when assembling the playlist.

Operational checks for an education stream
- Order: Decide whether lessons should repeat in a fixed sequence or whether learners need an on-demand playlist. Confirm that the broadcaster lets the team revise the sequence after launch.
- Visibility: Set YouTube playlist visibility intentionally; a public course, an unlisted classroom resource, and a private internal library have different access needs.
- Editing ownership: Identify who can add, remove, or reorder lessons, and who can access the streaming service and YouTube stream key.
- Duration: Check any maximum broadcast duration and whether the service’s 24/7 feature is restricted to a particular plan. OneStream Live’s documented maximum is 30 days on its Enterprise-gated feature; terms may change.
- Recovery: Ask how the service behaves if YouTube disconnects or a file fails. Feature listings are not a substitute for published or independently measured reliability data.
- Content review: Recheck rights and platform policies whenever the playlist changes, not only when the stream first launches.
Or let it run in the cloud

The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, and support from the StreamNeo team. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes. Start the free first day on StreamNeo.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a YouTube playlist itself keep a channel live all day?
No. A playlist organizes videos; continuous live broadcasting requires a separate broadcast workflow or service.
