Best Pokémon TCG Pocket Asleep Deck: Two Lists and What the Evidence Shows

The official Mega Manectric ex list uses Igglybuff and Darkrai for disruption; a Darkrai and Wigglytuff ex build is a more sleep-centered alternative, but neither is proven the top October 2026 tournament deck.

For a sleep package that supports a stronger setup plan, start with the official Mega Manectric ex list pairing Igglybuff and Darkrai. If you want sleep to be the deck’s main theme, consider the Darkrai and Wigglytuff ex list published by Pocket Tactics—but neither list is proven to be the best-performing sleep deck in October 2026 tournament play.

Which Pokémon TCG Pocket deck should you try?

“Best” depends on whether sleep is your disruption tool or your whole strategy. The Pokémon Company International’s April 10, 2026 Mega Manectric ex list uses Igglybuff and Darkrai to buy time while Mega Manectric ex gets ready. Pocket Tactics’ September 2026 list puts more emphasis on sleep, pairing Darkrai with Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff ex.

List Role of sleep Evidence

Darkrai and Wigglytuff ex More sleep-centered game plan Secondary guide published September 2026; no tournament-wide performance established. Pocket Tactics

Official support package: Mega Manectric ex with Igglybuff and Darkrai

This is the clearest official starting point if you want sleep to create time for a separate attacker. The published list is:

  • 2 Mega Manectric ex (Mega Shine)
  • 2 Electrike (Mega Shine)
  • 2 Darkrai (Mega Shine)
  • 2 Igglybuff (Secluded Springs)
  • 2 Professor’s Research (Promo)
  • 1 Calem (Mega Shine)
  • 1 Cyrus (Space-Time Smackdown: Palkia)
  • 1 Sabrina (Genetic Apex: Charizard)

The stated plan is to develop Mega Manectric ex on the Bench while Igglybuff and Darkrai apply drowsiness and stall. Igglybuff’s Sleepy Lullaby is described as the opening sleep move. Keep the named expansions in mind when building: card versions matter, and this is a published strategy rather than proof of current competitive dominance. See the official list and strategy.

More dedicated option: Darkrai and Wigglytuff ex

If you prefer a list built more directly around sleep, Pocket Tactics’ September 2026 list is an alternative to try:

  • 2 Darkrai (one entry is not version-qualified in the available list)
  • 1 Igglybuff
  • 2 Jigglypuff
  • 2 Wigglytuff ex
  • 2 Professor’s Research
  • 1 Cyrus
  • 1 Mars
  • 1 Pokémon Center Lady
  • 1 Copycat
  • 1 Leaf
  • 1 Sabrina
  • 2 Giant Cape
  • 2 Poké Ball

Check exact card versions in the in-game deck builder before copying the list. The available guide evidence does not establish a tournament-wide win rate for this build, so treat it as a published deck idea rather than a proven top competitive choice. Read Pocket Tactics’ deck guide.

Is Wigglytuff ex still a good sleep deck?

It remains a reasonable option to explore if you want a sleep-centered deck, but the available meta evidence does not support calling it a leading October 2026 tournament archetype. Pokémon Zone’s tracker shows no Wigglytuff ex appearances in the current meta selection on its page and places its latest listed results in the prior Mega Shine meta. That is a statement about the tracker’s displayed selection, not proof that nobody is playing the card. Check Pokémon Zone’s Wigglytuff ex tracker.

An older GamesRadar+ guide proposed a different idea: Dialga ex and Wigglytuff ex, with Jigglypuff (Sing/Promo-A), building Metal Energy on Dialga ex, charging Wigglytuff ex on the Bench, then moving Energy with Dawn. It is useful as a historical archetype concept, not a current recommendation unless you separately confirm the card pool and legality. See the older guide.

What current tournament data can—and cannot—tell you

PokemonTCGPocket.app’s snapshot covers September 4–October 2, 2026, and was updated October 4. It reports 30 tournaments, 5,053 decklists and 13,744 matches. Its leading listed archetypes are not dedicated sleep lists:

Archetype Meta share Win rate and sample
Mega Altaria ex Espeon 9.0% 52.5% over 2,648 games
Suicune ex Baxcalibur Not stated by the tier page for this figure 52.7% over 1,011 games
Hoopa ex Mega Absol ex Not stated by the tier page for this figure 55.7% over 727 games

These figures describe different archetypes, not sleep decks. The site’s ranking is a relative evidence score based on performance, meta presence and best public result; it is not an official rating or a permanent verdict. View the tier list and the tournament snapshot.

One Dittobase search-result excerpt reported a Mega Altaria ex/Igglybuff list going 8–2–1 at a September 5, 2026 event. That is one list’s result at one event, not an overall record for a sleep archetype. The available tournament information does not establish a complete sleep-only record for the September 4–October 2 window. See Dittobase.

How to choose and play a sleep-focused list

  • Choose by purpose: pick Mega Manectric ex if sleep is there to disrupt while another attacker develops; choose the Wigglytuff ex list if you want a more sleep-centered build.
  • Account for setup: the Wigglytuff version asks you to assemble Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff ex, while the official list’s stated plan is to develop Mega Manectric ex alongside its disruption pieces.
  • Read the exact card text: sleep effects, damage and timing are not interchangeable across cards or versions. Check the specific card text in your list rather than assuming every sleep move works alike.
  • Expect variance: sleep outcomes and coin flips can make match results swing. A disrupted turn can create an opening, but it does not guarantee a win.
  • Track your own games: note whether the deck can establish its attacker and whether sleep buys enough time against the opponents you actually face; published lists alone cannot answer that for your local matchups.
