There is no single objectively “best” PS VR2 game: the right pick depends on whether you want a cinematic adventure, rhythm action, quiet exploration, or multiplayer horror. For a practical starting shortlist, consider Horizon Call of the Mountain, Beat Saber, Kayak VR: Mirage, Alien: Rogue Incursion, and Phasmophobia—then confirm each title’s current US availability and PS VR2 edition before buying.
Choose a PS VR2 game by the experience you want
The examples below are based on PlayStation Japan’s Spring 2025 guide, updated April 4, 2025. They illustrate different genres; that Japan-region guide is not confirmation of current US availability, pricing, or store terms.
| What you want to play | Example | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Cinematic action and adventure | Horizon Call of the Mountain | A first-person Horizon adventure built around climbing, bow use, machine hunts, and crafting. PlayStation Japan labels it PS VR2-exclusive. |
| Rhythm and active play | Beat Saber | Slice beats with two sabers in a rhythm-action game. PlayStation Japan labels it PS VR2-exclusive and notes that upgrade and music-pack transfer details apply to prior PS VR owners; check current US terms. |
| Scenic exploration | Kayak VR: Mirage | Explore environments freely or take on timed races. PlayStation Japan labels it PS VR2-exclusive and describes a controller-paddle setup, but check current manufacturer guidance before attaching a controller to any accessory. |
| Horror with action | Alien: Rogue Incursion | An action-horror story set in the Alien universe. PlayStation Japan labels it PS VR2-exclusive; check the target-region store page for age and content information. |
| Cooperative horror | Phasmophobia | Investigate ghosts with online play for one to four players, according to PlayStation Japan’s guide. The guide labels it PS VR2-compatible; verify current matchmaking and cross-play details if those matter to your group. |
How to use recommendations and rankings
Sony’s PS VR2 games catalog is the best starting point for checking the titles Sony currently lists, including multiplayer selections and upcoming games. It is a catalog, not a definitive ranking of what is best for every player.
Editorial roundups can help surface candidates, but their lists reflect their authors’ judgments and may change. UploadVR’s recommendations note that many PS VR2 games are available on other platforms, and that some PS VR2 editions have visual or other upgrades. Compare the specific PS VR2 edition rather than assuming every port is identical. TechRadar’s 2025 selection discusses Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil Village as games that received VR updates, and Horizon: Call of the Mountain as an exclusive; these are editorial picks, not an objective consensus.

Check PS5 compatibility and your existing PS VR library
PS VR2 works with PS5 consoles, not PS4 consoles, according to PlayStation’s compatibility guidance. If you do not already own the headset, a PS5 is also required to use PlayStation VR2.
Do not assume your original PS VR library carries over. PlayStation’s PS VR2 FAQ says, “Due to this new approach to playing games in PS VR2, PS VR games are not compatible with PS VR2.” Some individual games may offer cross-buy or an upgrade, but availability and cost depend on the title and its developer.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- [Sweet spot keeper] The bigger anti-slip rear pad plus the pull of the top strap effectively prevent the front from slipping down and keep the sweet spot stable without the need of ridiculous huge forehead pressure as the stock.
- [Forehead pressure relief] With soft forehead pads and the weight distribution from the top strap, your forehead will feel much less pressure and more comfortable.
- [Sweat solution] 3 different material pads are included in the package, two are sweat-absorbing and washable, and one is sweatproof, and fit different seasons/scenario/user preference.
- [Weight distribution and front-back banalce] stock VR2 front is much heavier than the rear and may cause neck pain for long use, this mod adds some weight on rear and distributes some front weight to the top of the head through the top strap.
- [One stop solution] package includes 3 different forehead pads + 3 different material rear pads + 2 different top straps, a combination at your own choice to fit best for your comfort.

- Use the US PlayStation catalog and the individual US store listing to check current availability and the PS VR2 compatibility label.
- Check the listing for player count, online requirements, and any upgrade terms relevant to your account or prior game ownership.
- PlayStation says games are available digitally and that select titles have physical disc releases. That does not establish that every recommendation has a disc edition, or that one is currently sold in the US.
- Prices and availability in PlayStation Japan’s April 4, 2025 guide are Japan-specific and dated. Do not treat yen prices as current US prices or offers.
