1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe best fit depends on what you mean by “screen recording.” To capture gameplay or another phone display, choose a screen-broadcasting app such as PRISM Live Studio; to save a local copy of a camera-based IRL livestream, PRISM documents a save-after-streaming option, while Streamlabs Mobile is built for mobile camera streaming and overlays. There is no independently tested universal winner in the available documentation, so choose by capture mode, recording needs, and controls—not unsupported claims about image quality or reliability.
First decide what you need to record
- Phone-screen capture: You want to show mobile gameplay or another app on the phone. PRISM’s ScreenCast documentation covers smartphone screen broadcasting and its controls: PRISM’s Using Screencast guide.
- Camera-based IRL stream: You want to broadcast the phone camera while you are out and about, perhaps with overlays or chat.
- Local recording: You want a file saved on the phone, either instead of streaming or as a copy of a livestream. Confirm that the app supports saving for your specific mode; screen broadcasting and camera-stream recording are not interchangeable features.
These are different workflows. An app that can broadcast a phone screen is not automatically the right choice for recording a camera stream, and a camera-streaming app may not provide the screen-capture controls you need.
Apps to consider
PRISM Live Studio: useful when you need screen capture or a saved camera stream
PRISM’s mobile overview describes camera-live, screen-live, video, and photo modes, along with overlays and chat assets: PRISM Live Studio Mobile Overview. Its ScreenCast guide describes combining scene sources, adjusting device and microphone volume independently, and enabling a screensaver to help protect private information during a screen broadcast.
For camera and VTuber livestreams, PRISM’s FAQ documents a local-save workflow: select “Save video after streaming” to download the stream to the device. The FAQ also describes recording without an active stream. Check the FAQ for the current details and confirm the behavior for the mode you intend to use: PRISM Live Studio FAQ.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
PRISM also says mobile users can connect 3.5 mm, USB, or Bluetooth microphones. Whether a microphone works depends on the phone, its connector or adapter, and the app’s compatibility.
Streamlabs Mobile: a camera-streaming option with overlays and widgets
Streamlabs explicitly includes mobile IRL creators among its intended users and describes camera and game streaming, overlays, widgets, privacy features, and stability-related features on its Streamlabs Mobile page. Its support guide distinguishes “Stream your camera” for IRL from “Stream your games” for phone gameplay: Mobile Live Streaming Guide.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Some capabilities are plan-dependent, according to Streamlabs’ product information. The documentation establishes the app’s intended features, not comparative test results for stream quality, battery use, performance, or reliability.
IRL Pro and Moblin: other mobile options
OBS Project’s mobile-app overview lists IRL Pro, described there as streaming device cameras with overlays, and Moblin, described as supporting device-camera or screen streaming with overlays and streaming-service integrations. OBS Studio: for a desktop workflow, not native phone capture
OBS Studio is desktop software. OBS Project’s page, dated December 10, 2023, says mobile development is outside the project’s current scope and notes that most mobile hardware cannot run the desktop feature set without significant compromises. The page lists mobile apps, including PRISM Live Studio, IRL Pro, Moblin, and Streamlabs Mobile. Use OBS when your production or recording setup is based on a desktop; do not mistake it for an OBS phone app.

Prepare your phone before going live
For a Streamlabs mobile stream
- Close other apps before starting, as Streamlabs recommends in its mobile streaming guide.
- Disable notifications to reduce the chance that private information appears during a stream.
- Reduce ambient noise and keep the phone close enough for clearer voice capture. These are setup suggestions, not guarantees of stream reliability or a saved recording.
- Choose “Stream your camera” for an IRL camera stream or “Stream your games” for phone gameplay in the guide’s workflow.
For a PRISM screen broadcast
- Set up the scene sources you want to include in ScreenCast.
- Check device and microphone levels separately so that game or device audio and voice are balanced for your use.
- Enable the microphone through the device controls if you want voice audio.
- Turn on the screensaver when you want to reduce exposure of private information while broadcasting the phone screen.
For clearer mobile audio
PRISM lists 3.5 mm, USB, and Bluetooth microphones as options for mobile streaming or recording. A USB-C lavalier microphone is only a possibility if your particular phone supports the connector and the operating system, adapter, and app work with it. An external microphone is optional; confirm compatibility before buying.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common problems and what to check
- Your app is capturing the wrong thing: Check whether you selected camera streaming or screen/game streaming. These are separate modes in the documented Streamlabs workflow.
- You expected a local file but cannot find one: Verify that local saving is supported in the chosen mode and, for PRISM camera or VTuber streams, check whether “Save video after streaming” is selected. Do not assume every broadcast mode saves automatically.
- Your voice is hard to hear: Reduce background noise, keep the phone nearby, check the app and device microphone controls, and test any external mic connection for compatibility.
- Private notifications might appear: Disable notifications before streaming; for PRISM ScreenCast, consider enabling its screensaver privacy control.
- A feature or app is unavailable on your phone: Check current platform, device, and plan availability directly with the app provider. The cited overview of mobile alternatives does not establish compatibility for every phone.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a YouTube channel live with uploaded videos rather than broadcast a live phone camera, StreamNeo is a different kind of tool: upload a recording or make a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the uploaded video looping, so nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. It streams to YouTube and plays uploaded videos; it is not a camera livestream app. Start your free day on StreamNeo.
