What happens between playlists
You may schedule playlists back-to-back, but they do not combine into one seamless broadcast: Restream delivers them as separate streams with a two-minute buffer. You can add, remove, or reorder videos only before a playlist goes live. A playlist cannot mix live and prerecorded content. Restream says a live playlist can be ended from its home screen, while a scheduled playlist can be rescheduled or unscheduled.

3. LiveGoLive: advertised fit, availability unclear
LiveGoLive’s site advertises uploaded video and audio playlists that loop continuously, automatic reconnects after network interruptions, and operation without leaving a PC running. It describes connecting a YouTube channel through a one-click integration marked beta or by pasting a stream key. The site directs visitors to join a waitlist. Those are vendor claims, not independent uptime or performance results; public signup availability, pricing, and reliability commitments are not established. Treat it as an option to verify directly rather than a confirmed buy-now recommendation.
4. Build your own workflow with YouTube’s API
YouTube’s Live Streaming API separates the viewer-facing liveBroadcast event from the liveStream resource that carries the feed. It supports creating and managing events, scheduling broadcasts, associating a stream, and changing a broadcast’s state. Google’s guide also describes a 24/7 feed with a second broadcast resource for an interview that is part of that feed.

That model can represent a continuous feed, but it does not supply a finished playlist scheduler, rotate your files, supervise a media process, or guarantee reliable operation around the clock. A DIY system still needs a media source and rotation logic, process monitoring and recovery, stream-key handling, and a way to observe stream health. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events and advises monitoring stream quality and checking failover behavior; an encoder is optional hardware, not a substitute for playlist management or a cloud service.

Enable live streaming and authorize the right channel
Confirm that live streaming is enabled on the correct YouTube channel and that the Google account you authorize has access to it. Restream’s setup guide says first-time streamers must wait 24 hours after enabling live streaming, so do not schedule a launch assuming immediate access.

Check rights for every video and audio track
YouTube requires creators to have the necessary rights for worldwide use of live content, including music licensing rights, and requires live content to comply with its Community Guidelines. A streaming service does not grant rights to tracks, video, artwork, or other material in your playlist. Confirm that your licenses cover the content and the intended livestream use before making a playlist public.
Plan for long-stream archive and DVR limits
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. For a continuous broadcast, keep your own source files and do not rely on YouTube to preserve a complete archive or provide unlimited rewind for the entire run.
Common decision checks and failure points
