Best software and streaming options
These options use different operating models, so the right choice depends mainly on whether you want to operate the stream yourself or hand off prepared media to a hosted service. YouTube supports encoder-based streaming, and OBS provides official streaming and encoding guidance. The service descriptions below are not independent reliability tests.

Check YouTube eligibility first
YouTube’s live-streaming guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube lists encoder streaming among its available ways to go live. Confirm your channel’s status before preparing a 24/7 broadcast.

A camera or microphone is not established as necessary for a prepared relaxation stream: those are examples of encoder hardware, not requirements for sending an already-produced visual and audio program.

Clear copyright before going live
YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” Its copyright guidance for live streams says a matched stream may display a placeholder image and warns the creator to stop using the third-party content; if it remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream.

If you have permission or a license to use content, that may not by itself prevent an interruption. YouTube says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Check both the scope of your rights and whether allowlisting is required with the rights owner before broadcasting.
- Confirm that your rights cover the actual use you plan, including continuous live streaming on YouTube.
- Check permission for both audio and visual material, including sound recordings, music, and footage made by someone else.
- Do not assume a “royalty-free” label automatically clears a track for continuous live use; review the specific license and ask the rights owner about any allowlisting requirement.
