Why Quill Volley is the broadest recommendation
Quill Volley appears in every activity category covered by the roundup: leveling, speed farming, endgame Pit pushing and boss killing. That makes it the most versatile pick among the listed Spiritborn builds if you want one build to take across multiple kinds of content.
The ranking does not report a controlled head-to-head test or a single numeric performance measure. S tier is a placement within that roundup, not a measured margin over another build; the recommendation reflects breadth across activities rather than demonstrated superiority in every situation.

- Embark on the campaign solo or with friends, meeting memorable characters through beautifully dark settings and a gripping story, or explore an expansive end game and shared world where players can meet in towns to trade, team up to battle World Bosses, or descend into PVP zones to test their skills against other players - no lobbies necessary - with cross-play and cross-progression on all available platforms.
When another build may suit you better
For leveling: Stinger
Stinger is another S-tier leveling choice in the Season 7 roundup. The listing supports choosing it as an alternative, but does not establish that it levels faster than Quill Volley.
For speed farming: Razor Wings, Crushing Hand or Rake
These three builds join Quill Volley in the S-tier speed-farming list for lower-tier Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides. The roundup does not establish a single best option among them, so treat them as alternatives rather than a ranked order.

What to know about Quill Volley gear
A Season 7 Quill Volley build result identifies Rod of Kepeleke as a key item interaction. That is useful context when evaluating build variants, but it does not establish a universal gear requirement or a complete best-in-slot setup. The available Season 7 ranking evidence also does not provide a skill-point order, Paragon boards, rotation, drop odds or guaranteed acquisition path.
Mobalytics’ Orange Quill build guide is a build reference, but its page may have moved on from Season 7. For exact skill and gear instructions, use a guide explicitly matched to the game patch and season you are playing; do not assume a currently maintained guide reproduces its Season 7 setup.

Also included is the 'Guise of the Colossi' Unique Armor; a unique transmogrification plan that unlocks six armors that are inspired by 'Shadow of the Colossus' and work for all classes.
- This Ultimate Evil Edition contains both Diablo III and the Reaper of Souls expansion set, together in one definitive volume.
- Play solo or form a party of up to four other heroes.
These rankings are historical, not a current-season build prescription
The recommendations above apply to Season 7. Blizzard’s later official patch notes document additional Spiritborn balance changes: the Patch 2.2 notes changed Spiritborn skills and passives, and Blizzard’s Patch 2.3 notes include further Spiritborn ability adjustments in version 2.3.1, dated July 15, 2025. A Season 7 tier placement should therefore not be read as advice for a later season or patch.
Icy Veins’ current Quill Volley guide has a revision history that notes a Season 7 update, but its present setup is not automatically Season 7-specific. Check the guide’s season and patch labeling before following its build instructions.
