Change one setting at a time if the game does not feel right on your device. The available post-update report does not establish a best Low or High preset, or a separate ideal setup for LCD and OLED models.
What performance to expect
Steam Deck HQ reported approximately 70–80 FPS using the default Medium settings, including during combat and scenes with many effects and enemies. That is one outlet’s post-update result; it does not establish performance across all Steam Deck hardware revisions, game builds, or play situations. A 60 FPS limit is therefore a sensible target to try, not evidence of guaranteed locked-60 performance.
The cited performance report does not provide a battery-life comparison or establish that a lower frame-rate cap extends play time. Treat battery impact and results on your particular Deck as unknown rather than assuming a benefit.

Steam Deck compatibility and keyboard issues
Mojang’s October 1, 2026 notice says the Steam update should make the game playable on Steam Deck, while warning that issues may remain. It specifically mentions missing on-screen keyboard functionality and says further improvements are planned to bring full Steam Deck verification. Read Mojang’s Steam Deck update notice.
In practice, be prepared for on-screen keyboard functions not to work as expected when you need to enter text. The notice does not say that the issue is fixed, and it does not say that the game has already received full Steam Deck verification. Check Mojang’s notice again after game updates for compatibility changes.

Is Minecraft Dungeons II worth setting up on Deck?
Minecraft Dungeons II is an action RPG set in the Minecraft universe. Its story takes players through the Overworld and into the Sift, a new dimension, against the Illager High Council. You can configure weapons, armor, enchants, talismans, and artifacts to shape your build. The game supports solo play and up to four players in online or couch co-op; Mojang also describes cross-play and mixed co-op. Mojang’s launch information and its Minecraft Dungeons II FAQ provide more details.
The sequel is available on Steam, Windows, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. You do not need to own or play the original Minecraft Dungeons first. Steam’s listing includes the PC version’s features.
