If you just want a YouTube video or playlist to repeat while you watch, use YouTube’s built-in Loop control—no streaming software is needed. If you want to broadcast prepared videos as a YouTube Live stream, OBS Studio is the strongest documented desktop alternative to Streamlabs Desktop; a cloud service is the better fit when your own computer must stay off.
First decide: repeat playback or broadcast a live stream?
“Looping YouTube videos” can mean two different things. Viewer-side looping repeats a video on its YouTube watch page. A YouTube Live loop sends prepared video files out as a live broadcast to viewers. YouTube’s watch-page Loop control does not rebroadcast a video as a live stream.
Repeat a video or playlist while watching
On a computer or mobile device, open the video’s watch screen, right-click in the player, and select Loop. To repeat a playlist, open the playlist box and select Loop. On a TV or console, use the Repeat control while the video or playlist is playing. See YouTube Help’s instructions for looping videos or playlists.
Broadcast prepared video as YouTube Live
For a live broadcast, you need an encoder running on your computer or a hosted service that sends the prepared video to YouTube. The choices below concern this creator workflow, not ordinary playback.

Best alternatives for broadcasting looping videos
1. StreamNeo — cloud broadcasting without keeping a computer on
StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the videos from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It is the first choice for a computer-off workflow: any quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with the first day free.
Each slot includes one always-on YouTube stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. The uploaded video streams as made, without re-encoding or quality tiers. Plans differ by duration; UPI and cards are available in India, card checkout worldwide, and five or more slots can be discussed with support.

2. OBS Studio — best documented desktop alternative
OBS Studio is a free local production option whose official documentation describes looping local media. Its Media Source accepts local video and audio and has a Loop option. For a playlist, OBS’s VLC Video source supports multiple local files; Loop Playlist is on by default and Shuffle Playlist is off by default. VLC must be installed for this source to appear, and 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. The documentation covers Windows, macOS, and Linux. See the OBS Project Media Sources guide.
With a desktop encoder, your computer and network need to remain available while you broadcast. The documented loop controls do not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation; plan to monitor the stream and recover it if the computer, connection, or YouTube ingest fails.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
3. Streamlabs Desktop — capable streaming app, but playlist-loop setup is not documented in the reviewed guides
Streamlabs describes Desktop as a computer streaming and recording app and lists YouTube Live as a destination. Its YouTube page also describes account authorization and other ways to go live. The official pages reviewed do not explain a specific workflow for looping a local-media playlist. That documentation gap does not prove that no feature or workaround exists in every version. See Streamlabs’ YouTube page and Streamlabs’ getting-started guide.
4. Other cloud playlist broadcasters
Streamloop says it can broadcast uploaded pre-recorded playlists continuously to YouTube and other RTMP platforms, with ordered or shuffled playback, scheduling, and credit-based usage. Looping Stream describes uploading media to cloud storage, creating a playlist, and streaming continuously using cloud workers; it says the creator’s computer need not remain online. These are vendor descriptions, not independent reliability or value tests. Verify current prices, limits, platform support, and terms directly before choosing either service: Streamloop and Looping Stream.

Which option fits your setup?
| Option | What it does | Computer needed during playback? | Playlist behavior documented |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube Loop | Repeats playback for you on YouTube; does not create a live broadcast | Yes, to watch | Playlist repeat is available |
| StreamNeo | Cloud service for uploaded videos broadcast live on YouTube | No | Looping and playlists |
| OBS Studio | Local desktop production with looping media sources | Yes | VLC Video source supports playlists; loop on by default, shuffle off by default |

| Streamloop or Looping Stream | Vendor-described cloud broadcasting of uploaded media | No, according to vendor descriptions | Both describe playlist workflows; verify current details with each service |
Choose by the job, not by the app name: YouTube’s control is simplest for watching; OBS is the best-supported local option here; cloud hosting suits a stream that must continue while your computer is off.

Copyright, YouTube rules, and stream continuity
Looping a file does not grant permission to broadcast it. Before streaming, confirm that you have the necessary rights to the video, music, and other material, and follow YouTube’s applicable rules. Repeating the same content is not a way around copyright or platform policies. Hosted services do not remove your responsibility for YouTube configuration and policy compliance; Looping Stream explicitly notes that responsibility.
For a desktop setup, continuity also depends on the encoder computer and network staying available. For any option, check the stream in YouTube Live Control Room after starting and make sure the intended video is reaching the broadcast before relying on a long-running stream.
Costs and practical checks
OBS Studio is described as a free software option. Streamlabs’ cited pages describe its app and YouTube access, but do not establish a specific cost for the looping workflow. Cloud-service prices and limits can change; check each provider’s current terms before committing. Streamloop describes credit-based usage, while Looping Stream has described a new-user trial of seven days, 24 total streaming hours, 1 GB of storage, and one simultaneous stream; confirm those terms directly because they may change.
- For local OBS playlists, install VLC and match its bitness to OBS; 64-bit OBS needs 64-bit VLC.
- Check whether the playlist should play in order or shuffle. OBS VLC Video defaults to ordered playback because shuffle is off.
- Confirm the correct YouTube stream key and destination in your streaming setup, and verify the live preview before leaving a stream unattended.
- For cloud providers, verify current storage, stream limits, billing model, recovery behavior, and supported destination rather than assuming all services work alike.
StreamNeo offers a video upload-time calculator, a cloud vs. PC cost calculator, and a copyright safety checklist.
