For OBS users who want one upstream feed sent to several platforms, Restream is a documented cloud-relay option; for creators who want a browser-based studio, StreamYard offers multistreaming on paid plans. Neither is universally best: compare destination limits and eligibility, production workflow, and the upload capacity your setup needs. The platform details below come from vendor documentation, not hands-on testing.
Choose your multistreaming workflow
The main decision is whether to encode and send separate outputs from your own computer, or send one feed to a cloud service that distributes it. YouTube describes both approaches in its multistreaming guide.
- Cloud relay: Send one feed to a service such as Restream, which forwards it to selected destinations. This can avoid encoding multiple outputs locally and, as Restream describes it, avoid extra outbound bandwidth for each platform. That is the vendor’s product description, not an independent performance finding.
- Local encoder: Use OBS or another hardware/software encoder and manage the output yourself. You retain control, but your device must handle encoding and your connection needs enough upload capacity for the outputs.
- Browser studio: Produce the show in a browser-based studio such as StreamYard, useful when you want its production workflow rather than bringing an existing OBS setup.
YouTube says local encoding suits creators seeking control with a powerful computer; a cloud service can simplify distribution, particularly for more than two channels. It also says accounts should be active and in good standing on all channels and platforms being used.
Best tools by workflow
1. StreamNeo — for keeping a prerecorded YouTube stream live 24/7
StreamNeo is a different use case from conventional live simulcasting: it keeps a YouTube channel live by looping videos you upload, rather than sending a live camera or OBS production to multiple platforms. 2. Restream — cloud relay for OBS and other encoders
Restream fits creators who already make their show in OBS and want to send one feed to a relay for onward distribution. Its guide covers connecting an OBS account or service integration, or pasting a stream key, then starting the broadcast in OBS: Restream’s OBS multistreaming guide.
Restream’s Help Center article, published February 9, 2026, says its free plan supports two channels and includes browser Studio with up to five guests, third-party software such as OBS, multichat, analytics, and scheduled Events. Free streams include Restream branding, described as a watermark and/or a link in the description. A paid plan is required for three or more channels, Facebook Pages or Groups, and custom RTMP destinations; the article also lists branding removal, Studio Full HD (1080p), and up to nine guests among paid features. The article does not establish an exact current price. Check the Restream free-plan details before choosing a plan.

StreamYard is worth comparing if you prefer producing in a browser studio rather than using an existing local encoder workflow. Its support documentation says multistreaming is available on paid plans, with destination caps of 3 on Core, 8 on Advanced, and 10 on Business. These are documented plan limits; verify them on the provider’s current pages before subscribing.
Its supported-destinations page lists native support for Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Twitch, Kick, and Vimeo, and says custom RTMP may work with platforms that accept an RTMP feed. Platform-specific features differ, and some features are limited with custom RTMP. | Option | Workflow | Documented destinations or limit | Plan and feature caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud playback of uploaded videos to an always-on YouTube stream; not live camera production or multistreaming to other platforms. | One YouTube stream per slot. | One free day per account; duration-based plans. Product details and prices are described above. |
| Restream | Cloud relay for OBS or other encoder feeds; also offers a browser Studio. | Free plan: two channels. Paid plan required for 3+ channels, Facebook Pages/Groups, and custom RTMP. | Free streams carry branding. No exact price established in the cited Help Center article. |
| StreamYard | Browser-based production studio. | Paid-plan caps: Core 3, Advanced 8, Business 10 destinations. | Destination-specific capabilities vary; some features are limited with custom RTMP. |
| Local encoder workflow | Encode and manage outputs on your own device. | Depends on encoder configuration and platforms; no shared service cap stated in YouTube’s guide. | Device capacity and upload bandwidth constrain the setup. |
Do not treat a platform logo or supported-destination list as proof that every feature works in every routing mode. Confirm the account type, destination permissions, orientation, scheduling, comments, and other controls you need—especially when using custom RTMP. StreamYard’s destination table distinguishes these capabilities by platform.
Estimate upload bandwidth for local outputs
YouTube’s guide gives an example in which a 6 Mbps stream plus a 4 Mbps stream produces a 10 Mbps combined upload target, and recommends 15–20 Mbps upload capacity for stability. These are YouTube’s example and recommendation, not a guarantee for every connection or configuration. Test your actual upload capacity and monitor stream health during a real broadcast; variable connections need headroom beyond the nominal combined bitrate.

- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
With a cloud relay, your encoder sends one upstream feed to that service rather than a separate output to every destination. Restream describes this as avoiding additional outbound bandwidth for each platform. The relay still depends on a stable connection from your encoder to the service, and this vendor statement is not a measured comparison of service performance.

OBS through Restream
- Check eligibility first. Confirm that every destination account is active and in good standing, and check whether your chosen destinations require a paid Restream plan. Free Restream supports two channels according to its Help Center article; three or more channels, Facebook Pages/Groups, and custom RTMP require paid access.
- Connect Restream to OBS. Follow the Restream OBS guide to connect through its integration or enter the stream key it provides. Keep stream keys private; anyone with a key may be able to broadcast to that destination.
- Select destinations in Restream. Add only destinations you are authorized to use, then verify each is connected and that the required account permissions are in place.
- Start the broadcast from OBS. Start streaming in OBS and confirm that the feed reaches Restream and the intended destinations. Check each platform’s stream-health indicators and audio/video before promoting the live show.
StreamYard browser production
- Choose a paid plan with enough destinations. Compare the documented caps—3, 8, or 10 for Core, Advanced, or Business—with the number you actually need.
- Connect and validate each destination. Check the destination support table for orientation, scheduling, comments, and other platform controls; confirm whether custom RTMP is required and what functionality may be limited.
- Run a private or otherwise low-risk check where available. Confirm the picture, sound, and destination status before a public event. Plan features and supported-platform details can change, so use the provider’s current documentation.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is prerecorded video looping on YouTube 24/7—not sending a live production to several platforms—StreamNeo handles that job without an always-on home computer. Upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; videos stream as uploaded, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot. If YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo automatically recovers. The first day is free with no card, and the Monthly price is $9.99 per month. Start your StreamNeo free day.
Common problems and fixes
A destination will not connect
- Check that the account is active and in good standing, and that the service supports the destination type you selected.
- For Restream, verify whether the destination requires a paid plan; Facebook Pages/Groups and custom RTMP are not included in its documented free plan.
- For StreamYard, confirm whether the destination is native or custom RTMP and review any feature restrictions for that route.
The local connection struggles when adding platforms
- Recalculate the combined outbound bitrate for separate local outputs, then compare it with tested upload capacity. YouTube’s 15–20 Mbps headroom advice accompanies its own example, not a guarantee.
- Consider a cloud relay if your setup can reliably send one feed but not multiple independent outputs. This changes the distribution route, not the need for a stable upstream connection.
The stream appears on some platforms but not others
- Check each destination’s connection state, account permissions, and platform-specific requirements individually.
- Confirm plan limits and destination eligibility rather than assuming the same service features apply to every platform.
A prerecorded YouTube stream stops
- For an always-on playlist workflow, check the YouTube stream key and service status. StreamNeo includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops its stream.
- For any prerecorded content, make sure you have the rights to stream it and follow YouTube’s copyright rules. Repeated or reused material can also affect channel monetization eligibility; consult YouTube’s current policies rather than assuming that continuous playback is automatically permitted.
How to choose
- Choose Restream if you already produce in OBS and want a documented cloud relay; check its free branding and destination restrictions.
- Choose StreamYard if browser-based production suits you and its paid destination cap and platform controls match your needs.
- Use local outputs if you want direct control over encoding and your computer and upload connection can support the configuration.
- Choose StreamNeo only if your goal is a prerecorded, always-on YouTube channel rather than a live show distributed to other platforms.
There is no independent comparative performance test established for these tools here, and vendor plan pages can change. Compare the exact workflow and destinations you need, then recheck current limits before paying.
