For PvE farming, Wizard and Lahn lead the latest cited test, with Maegu, Tamer, and Witch also in the top tier. PvP and World Boss choices differ, though, and there is no dependable post-Transcendent consensus ranking for Arena or mass PvP. This guide reflects balance information available through Pearl Abyss’s September 8, 2026 notes; treat the tiers as a dated snapshot, not an official ranking.
What changed: Ascended and Awakened classes became Transcendent
On July 7, 2026, Pearl Abyss converted existing Ascended and Awakened classes into Transcendent Classes. The weapon selected on a character’s Skill page determines the kit you use, so older guides that show branch names as separate class choices may describe the same post-update class in legacy terms. The official update also raised non-passive skill levels to 20, retained the ability to equip up to 10 skills, and introduced Skill Sigils. See Pearl Abyss’s July 7 Transcendent Class update.
Some examples of the merged naming in the September guide: Berserker/Gladiator became Warrior, Invoker/Archmage became Witch, Lancer/Paladin became Valkyrie, Destroyer/Titan became Giant, and Nova absorbed Eclipse. For additional old-name conversions, use the official conversion table in the July update. This article is about Black Desert Mobile; Black Desert Online has a different class roster and class kits.
Best classes for PvE farming
The following is the September 14, 2026 third-party guide’s practical PvE tier list. It prioritizes grinding speed, then boss damage and ease of use at mid gear. These are the guide’s editorial tiers, not Pearl Abyss labels.

The guide reports that AuroraAura_BDM’s 2026 five-minute farming test recorded 394 kills for the leading class and 387 for the other leader; the guide identifies Wizard and Lahn as those leaders. It places Maegu, Tamer, and Witch next among the strong farming picks. The slowest group reportedly managed roughly 306–327 kills in the same test, compared with about 390 for the leaders. These are figures reported secondhand by FinalBoss.io from the creator’s test, not an independent or official measurement. For the guide’s method and interpretation, see FinalBoss.io’s September 2026 class tier list.
Which farming class should you choose?
- Wizard or Lahn: Start here if your main goal is fast field clearing; both led the reported five-minute test.
- Maegu, Tamer, or Witch: Choose among these if you want another S-tier farming recommendation rather than treating the leaders as the only viable options.
- Look beyond the tier if you value another mode: The guide places Maehwa and Nova low for farming while naming them among creator-recommended PvP candidates. A slow farming rank is not an overall class verdict.
Farming rankings reward quick kills against dense packs and efficient movement between pulls. Your comfort with the class and the investment you intend to make also matter; a theoretical tier advantage is of little use if you dislike the kit or play another mode most of the time.
Best classes for PvP
The September guide relays a Korean creator’s top-five Arena and small-scale PvP recommendations: Maehwa, Sorceress, Valkyrie, Nova, and Archer. Treat these as creator picks, not a settled order. The guide says it did not find a post-Transcendent ranking with enough sample size to establish PvP consensus. Official balance changes can shift the picture quickly: for example, Pearl Abyss adjusted Archer in its September 8 notes, and the guide reports recent PvP adjustments to Maehwa.
Archer is a useful example of why PvE and PvP advice should not be collapsed into one list. In its September 8, 2026 balance notes, Pearl Abyss said Archer’s combination of quick activation, mobility, defensive effects, and close-range damage made it too consistent in close engagements. The patch removed Bolt Storm’s instant activation, reduced Lambent Smash charges, redistributed Crossbow close-range bonus damage across its hits, and increased PvE damage for Circle of Thorns and Luminous Barrage. Those changes affect different situations in opposite ways: a PvE adjustment does not by itself establish an Arena ranking.
World Boss choices
World Boss damage can diverge from field-clearing performance because boss multipliers and sustained damage matter more than moving quickly between packs. In its September assessment, the guide recommends Warrior, Seraph, Valkyrie, Guardian, and Mystic as practical options for high multipliers and stable uptime.

Do not treat old multiplier figures as current. The guide says Pearl Abyss initially listed July 2026 World Boss multipliers of 146% for Wizard, 131% for Warrior and Seraph, and 125% for Archer, then retuned multipliers between August and September. It also reports Wizard’s multiplier falling from 146% to roughly 100% or below after the July update. These are patch-history figures as summarized by the guide, not verified live values. Check the newest official patch notes before choosing a boss class on the basis of a particular multiplier.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Mass PvP: choose cautiously, not by a definitive tier list
The September guide found no trustworthy post-July Node War or mass-PvP ranking to support a confident tier order. Its cautious candidates are Valkyrie, Nova, Warrior, and Guardian, with durability as a practical consideration. That is provisional advice, not evidence of community consensus or a guarantee of performance in every team composition.
Why these rankings can go stale
Pearl Abyss’s September 8 Archer changes are a concrete reminder that class strength is patch-dependent. The company said player feedback and live gameplay data will continue to inform balance work in its July 7 update notes. A later adjustment can change one mode without moving a class equally in every other mode.

Pocket Gamer’s page says it was updated October 6, 2026 and provides separate lists for PvE, PvP, mass PvP, and World Boss, but it retains several Awakening and Ascension branch labels and describes 26 base options. That does not line up cleanly with the post-July Transcendent system or the September guide’s 30-class count. Use it as a secondary comparison, not as a list to merge silently with the post-update tiers: Pocket Gamer’s Black Desert Mobile tier list.
Quick Recap
How to pick when no single class is best everywhere
- Mostly grinding: Begin with Wizard or Lahn, then consider Maegu, Tamer, and Witch.
- Arena or small-scale PvP: Consider the creator-recommended Maehwa, Sorceress, Valkyrie, Nova, or Archer, while remembering that the evidence does not establish a universal ranking.
- World Boss: Compare current boss-specific balance information and sustained-damage fit; do not rely on an old multiplier copied from a prior patch.
- Mass PvP: Treat Valkyrie, Nova, Warrior, and Guardian as cautious durability-oriented options, not proven top tiers.
- New or returning player: Confirm the current Transcendent name and selected weapon kit in-game before following a guide that uses old branch labels. Then weigh the mode you play most against class comfort and the investment you plan to make.
