Black Ops 6 Double XP Weekend Schedule (Start & End Times)

Double XP weekends in Black Ops 6 are Treyarch’s way of hitting the progression accelerator and rewarding players who show up during limited-time windows. When active, every meaningful action you take feeds into faster leveling, letting you unlock weapons, perks, attachments, and seasonal rewards at a pace that normally takes weeks of grinding. If you’ve ever felt stuck one level short of a prestige, Double XP is the event designed to erase that frustration.

At its core, Double XP simply means the game multiplies specific experience gains by two, but the real value depends on which XP pools are active. Black Ops 6 continues the modern Call of Duty model with multiple, parallel progression tracks, and not all Double XP events boost everything equally. Understanding the differences is the key to planning your playtime efficiently, especially if you only have a few hours before the timer runs out.

Player XP (Rank Progression)

Player XP affects your overall account level, prestige progression, and access to core unlocks. During a standard Double XP weekend, this is the most consistently boosted XP type across Multiplayer and Zombies. Every kill, objective capture, contract completion, and match bonus feeds into faster ranks, making objective-based modes like Hardpoint and Domination absolute goldmines.

In Zombies, Player XP scales heavily with survival time and eliminations, meaning longer sessions pay off exponentially. This is why high-round strategies, efficient training routes, and minimizing downs matter far more during Double XP than during normal weeks.

#1 Best Overall
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6 - PlayStation 5
  • Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.
  • This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
  • The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
  • In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
  • Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.

Weapon XP (Attachments and Camos)

Double Weapon XP is where grinders feel the biggest difference moment to moment. Weapon XP controls how fast guns level up, unlocking attachments, tuning options, and camo challenges. When active, every hitmarker, kill, and assist accelerates your loadout optimization, which directly impacts your DPS and consistency in competitive modes.

This boost is especially powerful early in a season when new weapons drop underleveled. Pairing Double Weapon XP with small-map playlists or high-density Zombies spawns can cut weapon leveling time in half, sometimes even more if you’re playing aggressively and staying alive.

Battle Pass XP (Seasonal Progression)

Battle Pass XP operates on a separate progression track tied to time played and match performance rather than raw kill counts. During Double Battle Pass XP events, tier progression speeds up dramatically, letting you unlock operators, blueprints, and cosmetic rewards without committing to marathon sessions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For players juggling work or school, this is often the most valuable boost. Even average matches move the needle faster, making it easier to finish the pass before the season ends without relying on token stacking or last-minute grinding.

How Double XP Events Are Typically Structured

Most Black Ops 6 Double XP weekends start on Friday morning and end early Tuesday, following the familiar global rollout that aligns North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific with region-adjusted times. Sometimes Treyarch stacks multiple boosts together, like Double XP plus Double Weapon XP, while other events focus on a single progression lane.

Knowing which XP types are live before you queue up determines whether you should chase kills, farm objectives, or simply play longer sessions. That planning is what separates casual participation from truly maximizing a Double XP weekend.

Confirmed Black Ops 6 Double XP Weekend: Global Start & End Times

With the XP systems broken down, the next step is locking in when the boost actually goes live. Treyarch has confirmed that the upcoming Black Ops 6 Double XP weekend follows the franchise’s standard global rollout, meaning everyone gets access at the same moment, adjusted for local time zones.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

As usual, the window runs longer than a typical weekend, giving grinders extra breathing room to plan longer sessions without rushing every match.

Official Start Time (All Regions)

The Double XP weekend begins on Friday at 10:00 AM PT. That start time is consistent across multiplayer and Zombies, with boosts activating the moment the backend flips, not when you relaunch the game.

Here’s how that start time breaks down globally:
– North America: Friday, 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET
– UK: Friday, 6:00 PM GMT
– Europe: Friday, 7:00 PM CET
– Australia: Saturday, 4:00 AM AEDT

If you’re logging in early and don’t see the XP icon immediately, restarting your game usually forces the update to apply.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Official End Time (Don’t Miss the Cutoff)

The event ends early Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM PT, which is where a lot of players get burned. Double XP does not last through all of Monday night in every region, so late grinders need to watch the clock carefully.

End times by region look like this:
– North America: Tuesday, 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET
– UK: Tuesday, 6:00 PM GMT
– Europe: Tuesday, 7:00 PM CET
– Australia: Wednesday, 4:00 AM AEDT

Once that cutoff hits, XP rates instantly revert to normal, even if you’re mid-match.

Which XP Boosts Are Live This Weekend

This confirmed event includes standard Double XP and Double Weapon XP. Player level progression and weapon leveling are both accelerated, making this the ideal window for prestige pushes and attachment unlocks.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Double Battle Pass XP is not part of this specific weekend, so tier progression remains tied to normal playtime rates. If your priority is Battle Pass completion, longer matches help, but this event is clearly tuned for leveling efficiency rather than seasonal cosmetics.

Best Modes to Exploit the Time Window

Given the limited runtime, high-action playlists offer the best XP per minute. Small-map rotations in multiplayer generate constant engagements, which feeds weapon XP through raw hit volume and kill frequency.

Zombies players should focus on high-density spawn strategies rather than long survival runs. Faster rounds, controlled aggro, and minimizing downs keep XP flowing consistently, especially when farming camo challenges alongside weapon levels.

How to Plan Your Sessions Before the Event Ends

If your schedule is tight, front-load your playtime on Friday and Saturday. Server population is higher, matchmaking is faster, and you’re less likely to waste boosted time sitting in queues or lobbies.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Save experimental loadouts and low-level weapons for this window. Double XP weekends are where inefficiency gets forgiven, letting you brute-force progression that would feel painfully slow during a normal week.

Regional Time Zone Breakdown (NA, UK, EU, Asia, Oceania)

Because Double XP flips on and off globally at the same backend moment, regional time zones are where most planning mistakes happen. The event goes live Friday at 10:00 AM PT and shuts off early Tuesday morning at that same PT reset, regardless of where you’re playing from. If you miss the window by even a minute, the XP multiplier is gone instantly, mid-match or not.

North America (NA)

For West Coast players, Double XP starts Friday at 10:00 AM PT and ends Tuesday at 10:00 AM PT. That gives you three full daytime sessions plus a chunk of Monday morning before the cutoff hits.

East Coast grinders are looking at a 1:00 PM ET start on Friday and a 1:00 PM ET shutdown on Tuesday. The key trap here is Monday night; you do not get boosted XP past early Tuesday afternoon, so late-night prestige pushes will fall back to normal rates.

United Kingdom (UK)

In the UK, Double XP goes live Friday at 6:00 PM GMT and ends Tuesday at 6:00 PM GMT. That timing actually favors evening players, especially on Friday when you can jump straight into boosted matches after work or school.

The danger zone is Tuesday afternoon. Once the clock hits 6:00 PM, XP instantly normalizes, even if you’re deep into a Zombies run or finishing a high-kill multiplayer match.

Europe (EU)

Central European players see the event start Friday at 7:00 PM CET and end Tuesday at 7:00 PM CET. Like the UK, this lines up cleanly with evening sessions, making short, efficient play blocks extremely valuable.

If you’re planning long sessions, prioritize Sunday and early Monday. Tuesday night grinding will not be boosted, which is where a lot of camo and attachment farming plans fall apart.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Asia

For most of Asia, including Japan and Korea, Double XP kicks in early Saturday morning at 3:00 AM JST. The event ends Wednesday at 3:00 AM JST, meaning you technically get part of Tuesday evening, but lose the boost overnight.

This region benefits heavily from weekend daytime sessions. If you wait until late Tuesday night, you’ll be playing at standard XP without realizing the switch already happened.

Oceania (Australia & NZ)

In Australia, Double XP starts Saturday at 4:00 AM AEDT and ends Wednesday at 4:00 AM AEDT. That makes Saturday and Sunday the prime farming days, especially for extended Zombies or camo-focused multiplayer sessions.

Tuesday night is the biggest pitfall. Once the early-morning cutoff hits, XP drops back to normal immediately, so wrap your progression pushes before heading into late-night queues.

Is It 2XP, 2WXP, or 2XP + 2WXP + 2BP? How to Tell Each Event Apart

Now that you know exactly when the clock starts and stops in your region, the next trap is assuming all Double XP weekends are created equal. In Black Ops 6, Treyarch and Activision rotate multiple XP formats, and misreading the event type can completely derail your grind plan.

Sometimes you’re getting pure level XP. Other times it’s weapon-only, and on rare weekends, everything is boosted at once. Knowing which version is live determines whether you should be spamming Zombies, hard-focusing camo challenges, or pushing Battle Pass tiers.

Standard Double XP (2XP)

This is the most common version and the one casual players recognize immediately. Standard Double XP only affects your player level and Prestige progression, not weapon levels or Battle Pass tiers.

You’ll see this reflected in the lobby XP banner showing a single “2XP” icon. If this is the active boost, your best plays are high-score-per-minute modes like Hardpoint, Domination, or long Zombies runs where raw XP stacks fast.

This is not the weekend to level neglected weapons. You’ll unlock ranks quickly, but your gun progression will crawl at normal speed.

Double Weapon XP (2WXP)

Double Weapon XP weekends are the holy grail for camo grinders and attachment hunters. This boost only applies to weapon leveling, meaning each kill, assist, and objective action pumps far more XP into the gun you’re holding.

In-game, you’ll see a “2WXP” indicator, often stacked separately from player XP icons. This is when you should abandon maxed weapons entirely and rotate through low-level guns, even if it tanks your KD.

Zombies shines here, especially high-density maps where you can farm critical kills safely. Multiplayer players should lean into small-map playlists and objective modes that force constant engagements.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Double XP + Double Weapon XP (2XP + 2WXP)

This combo weekend is where efficiency skyrockets. Both your account level and weapon progression are boosted simultaneously, letting you Prestige while also finishing camo requirements.

The UI will clearly show two active icons: one for XP and one for WXP. If you see both, it’s an all-hands-on-deck event, and skipping playtime is a straight-up loss.

This is the ideal window for long Zombies sessions, especially with squad play where revive XP, medal stacking, and high-round bonuses compound insanely fast. Multiplayer grinders should focus on objective-heavy modes to double-dip on score and kill-based weapon XP.

Triple Boost Events (2XP + 2WXP + 2BP)

These are rare, usually tied to major seasonal launches, Reloaded updates, or anniversary-style events. When active, player XP, weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression are all doubled.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

You’ll know immediately because the lobby UI lights up with all three indicators, and the Battle Pass page will explicitly call out boosted tier progression. If you see this live, every mode is viable, but time efficiency matters more than ever.

Short, repeatable matches with consistent score output become king. Zombies players should balance round depth with extraction timing, while multiplayer players should favor playlists that end quickly but reward objective play.

How to Confirm the Active Boost Before You Queue

Never rely on social media chatter alone. Always check the in-game lobby banners, the XP tokens menu, and the event tile on the main menu before committing to a long session.

If the boost doesn’t appear on the after-action report, it’s not active, even if you started the match during the event window. XP type and multiplier are locked at match start, which is why timing your queues before regional cutoff matters as much as the mode you pick.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Knowing exactly which XP type is live lets you plan your grind instead of reacting mid-session. That awareness is the difference between wasting a weekend and walking away with maxed weapons, finished tiers, and a clean Prestige climb.

Best Multiplayer Playlists to Grind During Double XP

Once you’ve confirmed the boost is live and locked in at match start, playlist selection becomes the single biggest factor in how much value you squeeze out of the weekend. During Double XP, you’re not just chasing kills; you’re farming score-per-minute, objective bonuses, and medal chains that scale faster than raw slaying ever will.

The goal is simple: fast match flow, constant engagements, and objectives that reward aggressive play. These playlists consistently outperform standard Team Deathmatch when player XP, weapon XP, and even Battle Pass progression are all in play.

Hardpoint

Hardpoint is the gold standard for Double XP efficiency in Black Ops 6. Rotating hills force nonstop action, which means a steady stream of kills, assists, objective ticks, and score bonuses stacking on top of each other.

Free tools Windows power users keep installed

One-click scans. No signup required.

Even average players rack up massive XP just by holding the point, clearing lanes, and rotating early. Weapon XP skyrockets here because engagement frequency is high, and you’re rarely wasting time sprinting without shooting. If you’re leveling mid-tier or off-meta weapons, Hardpoint smooths out their weaknesses through sheer volume.

Domination

Domination remains a top-tier grind mode because it rewards both map control and sustained pressure. Captures, defends, and killstreaks all contribute to score, making it ideal during 2XP weekends where score-based scaling matters.

The key is avoiding stalemates. Actively flip objectives, push B hard, and farm defend medals instead of anchoring spawn lanes. Matches that go the full time limit generate more XP than quick blowouts, especially when weapon XP is doubled alongside player XP.

Kill Confirmed

Kill Confirmed quietly becomes one of the most efficient XP modes during Double XP events. Every confirmed tag is bonus score, and when multiplied, those pickups add up fast.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

This mode rewards aggressive movement and close-range gunfights, making it perfect for SMGs, shotguns, and leveling weapons that struggle at long range. Smart routing through tag-heavy lanes can outperform pure slaying, especially in matches where both teams stay active instead of turtling.

Objective Moshpit Playlists

When Black Ops 6 rolls out an Objective Moshpit or Featured Playlist with Hardpoint, Domination, and similar modes bundled together, that’s usually the optimal queue. These playlists are tuned for engagement density and often attract players actively chasing XP, not padding KD.

The variety also helps prevent burnout during long sessions, which matters when you’re planning around regional start and end times. Staying sharp through multiple matches keeps your score-per-minute high, especially as fatigue starts to set in late in the event window.

What to Avoid During Double XP

Traditional Team Deathmatch and slower tactical modes tend to underperform during Double XP weekends. The score ceiling is lower, matches can end too quickly, and there’s less room for objective-based bonuses to multiply your gains.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Sniper-only or gimmick playlists might be fun, but they’re inefficient if your goal is progression before the boost ends. With Double XP windows typically ending midday Monday across most regions, every low-yield match is lost value you won’t get back once the timer hits zero.

Best Zombies Strategies for Fast Levels & Weapon XP

If Multiplayer is about score-per-minute, Zombies is all about kill density and control. During Double XP weekends, Zombies becomes one of the safest ways to stack both player levels and weapon XP without relying on match pacing or lobby quality. This is especially valuable if your play window is tight around the regional start and end times, since Zombies sessions aren’t bound by match timers.

High-Round Survival Beats Early Exfils

Exfil bonuses look tempting, but they don’t scale as hard as sustained kill farming once Double XP is active. The real gains come from rounds 15–30, where enemy health ramps up but spawn rates stay aggressive. If the event ends midday Monday in your region, long survival runs Sunday night into Monday morning are the most efficient use of that remaining boost.

Prioritize survivability perks early so you can safely hold a lane without bleeding downs. Every extra round you survive under Double XP multiplies both player XP and weapon XP, making patience more valuable than quick resets.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Spawn Manipulation and Training Over Camping

Training zombies in predictable loops consistently outperforms static camping once you’re past the early rounds. Controlled trains let you line up headshots, maximize critical kill bonuses, and avoid RNG-heavy damage spikes that waste time on revives. The faster you clear full waves, the faster the next one spawns, which directly translates into more XP per hour.

Look for areas with tight circular paths and minimal spawn splits. Clean aggro management keeps zombies grouped, prevents stray hits on your hitbox, and lets you maintain a steady DPS rhythm without panic reloads.

Weapon XP: Focus on One Gun Per Match

Weapon XP in Zombies is tied directly to kills with that weapon, and Double Weapon XP weekends amplify this dramatically. Splitting kills across multiple guns slows progression, even if it feels safer. Commit to one primary weapon per match and build your loadout around keeping it viable into higher rounds.

Use Pack-a-Punch and rarity upgrades as soon as possible rather than spreading resources thin. A fully upgraded gun mowing through round 20 zombies earns more weapon XP than juggling underpowered backups, especially once health scaling kicks in.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Abilities and Field Upgrades That Speed Up XP

Field upgrades that boost crowd control or survivability indirectly increase XP by keeping your kill flow uninterrupted. Anything that reduces downtime from revives, armor breaks, or repositioning is a net gain during Double XP. The goal is to minimize dead time where zombies aren’t actively spawning or dying.

Avoid panic-use abilities that wipe a wave too early if they deny weapon kills. If the XP boost covers player and weapon XP but not battle pass progression, prioritize tools that feed your gun, not ones that steal kills from it.

Solo vs Squad Efficiency During Double XP

Solo play offers tighter spawn control and faster round transitions, which can be ideal for pure weapon leveling. However, coordinated squads can push higher rounds safely, which scales better for player XP if everyone holds their role. The choice comes down to how close you are to the event’s end time and how consistent your team is.

If you’re squeezing in sessions before the regional cutoff, solo runs reduce wipe risk. If you have a full window during the weekend, squads let you stretch runs longer and capitalize on the full duration of Double XP without restarting.

Timing Your Runs Around Event End Times

Double XP weekends typically go live Friday morning PT and end late Sunday or midday Monday depending on region. Plan Zombies sessions so you’re actively in-match when the clock is about to expire, since XP usually counts based on when the match ends. Starting a long run shortly before the cutoff can squeeze extra value out of the boost.

This makes Zombies uniquely efficient compared to Multiplayer playlists that hard-stop at the timer. If you’re watching the clock, Zombies lets you play smarter, not faster, and still walk away with massive progression before Double XP disappears.

How Double XP Stacks With Tokens, Events, and Boosts

Understanding how stacking works is the difference between casually benefiting from Double XP and fully optimizing it. Black Ops titles have historically been strict about how boosts interact, and Black Ops 6 follows that same live-service logic during its scheduled Double XP windows. If you plan around these rules instead of fighting them, you’ll squeeze far more value out of every match before the regional end time hits.

Do Double XP Tokens Stack With Double XP Weekends?

No, Double XP tokens do not stack on top of a global Double XP event. When a weekend is active, tokens are effectively locked out or paused, meaning you won’t get 4x XP by activating one. This is consistent with how recent Call of Duty titles handle progression boosts.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The upside is that unused tokens are not consumed during the event. Save them for the moment Double XP ends in your region, especially if the cutoff is late Sunday or midday Monday and you still have time to grind.

Player XP vs Weapon XP vs Battle Pass XP

Most Black Ops 6 Double XP weekends boost player XP and weapon XP simultaneously, but battle pass progression is not always included. If the event is labeled Double XP instead of Double XP + Double Weapon XP + Double Battle Pass XP, assume the pass is excluded.

This matters when choosing modes late in the event window. Zombies and long-form matches are elite for weapon XP, but if battle pass tiers aren’t boosted, your time is better spent finishing levels or camos instead of chasing passive progression.

Limited-Time Events and Playlist Bonuses

Special events and featured playlists can still layer on top of Double XP, but only if they apply separate modifiers. Examples include playlists with baked-in weapon XP bonuses or event challenges that grant flat XP rewards on completion.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

These bonuses don’t multiply your per-kill XP, but they add chunks on top of it. During a Double XP weekend, completing event challenges mid-match or between games can spike your total gains, especially if you’re racing the event end time.

Boosts That Still Matter During Double XP

Even when tokens are disabled, gameplay-based boosts still matter. Faster match pacing, higher kill density, and reduced downtime all scale harder during Double XP because every action is already worth more.

This is where Zombies shines again near the end of the weekend. If you start a long run shortly before Double XP ends, the boosted XP applies to the entire match payout, letting you bypass the hard stop that Multiplayer hits when the clock runs out.

Planning Around Regional Start and End Times

Double XP weekends typically begin Friday morning Pacific Time and roll through late Sunday or early Monday depending on your region. Stacking doesn’t change at any point during the event, but your strategy should.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Use the early window for raw weapon leveling, save challenge completions for the middle, and finish with long Zombies sessions near the cutoff. When Double XP shuts off, that’s when tokens come back into play, letting you extend the grind without wasting a single boost.

Last-Hour Optimization: What to Do Before Double XP Ends

The final stretch of a Double XP weekend is where smart planning beats raw playtime. Once the countdown starts, your goal shifts from experimenting to locking in guaranteed returns before the global cutoff hits.

Double XP weekends for Black Ops 6 typically end late Sunday night in North America, around 10–11 PM PT, which translates to early Monday morning for EU and later Monday for APAC. When the clock flips, XP rates revert instantly in Multiplayer, so every decision in the last hour matters.

Lock In Long-Form Matches Before the Cutoff

If you have 45–60 minutes left, stop queuing short Multiplayer modes. The safest play is a Zombies session or any mode that pays out XP at match completion rather than per minute.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Zombies is especially clutch here because XP is calculated when the run ends, not when the timer hits zero. Start the match before Double XP expires and you’ll receive the full boosted payout, even if you extract or die after the event officially ends.

Finish Weapons, Don’t Start New Ones

Late in the event is not the time to begin leveling a fresh gun. Instead, push weapons that are one or two levels away from key unlocks like attachments, camos, or prestige challenges.

Weapon XP benefits more from focused kill density than match count. Stick to loadouts you already know, maximize uptime, and avoid experimental builds that lower DPS or force slower engagements.

Avoid Challenge Chasing Unless It’s Guaranteed

Challenges and event objectives can give flat XP rewards, but only pursue them if they’re nearly complete. A half-finished challenge at the buzzer is wasted time compared to raw eliminations or objective score.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If Battle Pass XP is not included in the event, deprioritize passive play entirely. Focus on actions that directly award player or weapon XP, especially modes with predictable pacing and minimal downtime.

Prepare for the Post-Event Transition

As Double XP ends, tokens typically re-enable immediately. Have your next loadout and mode queued so you can pop a token and continue grinding without a dead minute in between.

The best players treat Double XP weekends as accelerators, not crutches. Use the final hour to bank progress that would normally take days, then roll straight into token-based optimization once the event shuts off.

Double XP doesn’t reward panic. It rewards planning, discipline, and knowing exactly when to go all-in. If you play the last hour correctly, you’ll feel the payoff every time you load into your next match.
