Those dates are historical; the announcements do not establish whether either mode or map is currently available.
What arrived before Season 1?
In its October 29, 2024 announcement, Activision said Infected was available “right now.” The classic 1950s Nuketown map was scheduled to follow on November 1, ahead of the season launch.
Infected mode
Infected begins with one randomly selected player on the infected team. Infected players eliminate survivors, who join the infected side when caught. The remaining survivors try to stay alive until the match timer expires. The publisher presented it as a party mode, built around the shift in teams as the match progresses.
Classic Nuketown
The returning map was described as a graphically improved version that retained the original layout and 1950s setting. Treyarch map designer Adam Hoggatt said: “The original Nuketown has always been my favorite, mainly because of how it came about and how the studio rallied around it.” He added that many current players had never experienced the original and would get to feel its “Nuketown magic” for the first time. When did Season 1 launch?
The October 29 announcement set Season 1 for November 14, 2024. A follow-up guide published November 7 confirmed a 9 AM PT launch across platforms. The date and time refer to the original 2024 schedule, not a current or upcoming release. The Season 1 guide has the later timing confirmation.
What did Season 1 include?
Activision described the season as a mix of free and premium content. Its plans covered new multiplayer maps and modes, an in-season Zombies map, and the integration of Black Ops 6 weapons and loadout features into Warzone. The November 7 guide listed five multiplayer maps plus a variant, alongside weapons, Zombies content and Warzone integration. The announcements do not support treating every individual item as free.

The October post called the planned update a “Massive Content Drop,” promotional wording rather than a measured description of its size. Its schedule separated the pre-season additions—Infected and Nuketown—from the wider Season 1 launch.

The two announcements document the original release schedule, but do not establish current playlist rotation or map availability. Check the game’s current in-game playlists and update information for what is playable now. These updates were for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6; the cited announcements do not say that owning the game guarantees that a particular limited-time playlist remains active.
