Blizzard has officially revealed the Demon Hunter as one of the first three classes for Diablo V, which many players search for as Diablo 5. In an announcement published September 12, 2026, Blizzard described an early concept built around twin crossbows, attacks from the shadows, and leaps across the battlefield. The game is in development, with a planned Spring 2029 release window.
What did Blizzard say about the Diablo 5 Demon Hunter?
Blizzard Entertainment’s official Diablo V: Forging the Next Era announcement says: “The Demon Hunter returns to stalk the forces of Hell with twin crossbows, striking from the shadows and leaping across the battlefield to annihilate their prey.” The statement is from Blizzard’s announcement; it is not attributed to a named developer.

Blizzard presented these details as early ideas, not a finished class specification. The announcement says more information about class combat, progression, and builds will arrive as development continues.
Is the Demon Hunter confirmed for Diablo V?
Yes. Blizzard named the Demon Hunter among the first three revealed classes for Diablo V, alongside the Monk and the new Plague Knight. The announcement establishes the class’s inclusion, but does not provide a complete or finalized feature set.

The three descriptions are high-level concepts rather than enough information to judge which class will suit a particular play style:
- Demon Hunter: twin crossbows, shadow attacks, and battlefield leaps.
- Monk: martial combat and holy power.
- Plague Knight: spreads disease and consumes it for power.
What weapons and abilities will the Demon Hunter use?
The only specific weapon Blizzard has named so far is a pair of crossbows. The early description also calls out striking from the shadows and leaping across the battlefield. It does not establish exact skills, weapon rules, resource systems, progression, or builds, so those details should not be treated as confirmed.

When is Diablo V coming out?
Blizzard announced a Spring 2029 release window for Diablo V in its September 12, 2026 release-window announcement. Spring 2029 is a planned window, not an exact launch date. Blizzard’s official Diablo V site describes the game as in development and invites players to sign up for future updates; the cited announcements do not confirm a preorder, price, platform list, or physical edition.
