Bloodborne has not received an official PC release or remaster in the sources available as of October 8, 2026. The surprise is a fan-made project that can run the original PS4 game on PC: it is experimental, works in some areas, and has not had a full playthrough verified. Players must supply their own decrypted game files.
What actually released?
The news is about bbport, an unofficial, single-game Linux project. It runs the original PS4 executable directly on an x86-64 processor, uses a project-specific runtime for PS4 system functions, and translates graphics through a Vulkan renderer derived from shadPS4. “Native” in this context means direct execution of the game’s CPU code; it does not mean Bloodborne was rebuilt from source code for PC. The project says it is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment, FromSoftware, or AMD.

That distinction matters because bbport is a compatibility project, not a remaster. Its README calls the project experimental and playable: it reports that the game boots, loads saves, and can be played in Hunter’s Dream and several Yharnam areas, with sound, controller support, and saving. The project has not verified a complete playthrough. Tech4Gamers’ October 6, 2026 report likewise describes the effort as incomplete.
What do you need to run bbport?
The Linux project README specifies Bloodborne for PS4, title ID CUSA03173, version 1.09, and requires a user-provided decrypted game dump. The project does not include game files. Its documentation does not establish that a retail disc by itself is sufficient to produce a compatible dump.

The repository says its only thoroughly tested configuration is one Linux PC with an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and Mesa/RADV. That is a report about the project’s testing, not a universal minimum requirement or a guarantee that other hardware will work. The repository also documents a Steam Deck AppImage, but that documentation does not amount to thorough testing on the Deck.
Are there Windows versions?
Separate Windows adaptations based on bbport have been reported; they are not the Linux project’s standard build, and their requirements should not be treated as one shared checklist. NeoTeo’s October 8, 2026 explainer describes two projects, both of which require users to supply their own decrypted CUSA03173 game dump:

Selectable frame-rate caps and output settings are configuration options, not proof of the performance a given PC will achieve. The available reporting does not provide an apples-to-apples benchmark across Linux, Windows, or different hardware.
Is “BB PC Remaster” the same project?
No. “BB PC Remaster” is the name of a separate visual mod by fromsoftserve. It modifies graphics in the emulated PC game; it is not the bbport compatibility project and is not an official remaster. iXBT Games reported on the mod on September 11, 2026, describing it as free and unofficial.

Is a Bloodborne PC remaster official?
No official PC release is established by the cited coverage as of October 8, 2026. The fan projects are unofficial, and nothing in their release establishes a Sony or FromSoftware announcement.
In July 2026, former Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida expressed uncertainty about why Bloodborne had not been remastered or released on PC, while saying he hoped it would happen. His comments, reported by GamesRadar+, were his personal view—not confirmation of Sony’s plans.
