What signs did the report describe?
The Nerd Stash reported that a sign outside Foundations Prep read, “Choose Life. Your Mom Did!” It also described religious messages in shared hallways or stairwells, including “Only Jesus Can Save Us” and “Repent and Follow Jesus Now… Before It’s Too Late.” These wordings are reported by that outlet and have not been independently verified here. The Nerd Stash’s October 2 report characterized the preschool as privately owned, independently operated and nonreligious.
What have parents reportedly asked for?
According to the report, some parents complained to both Foundations Prep and Brookdale Christian Church. A group of families reportedly circulated a joint letter requesting an in-person meeting. The report says the letter objected to signs in shared areas and to families being offered another staircase or route as a workaround. The letter itself was not available to inspect, so its exact wording and signatories are not confirmed.
Who controls the shared spaces?
The preschool reportedly rents space from Brookdale Christian Church. The report says the church owns wall space in some shared hallways and stairwells, but it does not establish the lease terms or spell out the preschool’s authority over signage. Ownership of a wall alone does not answer what a rental agreement permits or who approved particular signs.

The Nerd Stash said neither organization responded to The Montclair Pod’s questions about who approved the signs or whether any could be removed. That describes the response status reported by the outlet; it does not establish whether either institution has commented since.
What remains unconfirmed?
- Whether the school or church approved the signs, and who can remove or relocate them.
- What the lease or any written agreement says about shared spaces and signage.
- Whether the school or church has offered families a remedy beyond using another route.
- How the school and church characterize the dispute or respond to the parents’ request.
A Reddit discussion dated October 2 included the rhetorical question, “Are they aware preschool children can’t get pregnant or read?” and asked whether the sign was meant for preschool children. Those are user-generated reactions, not statements from a parent spokesperson or either institution. The Reddit thread provides evidence of online discussion, not independent confirmation of the incident.
