The game behind the “218,000 ratings” headline was Bloons TD 6, but its Epic Games Store giveaway is over. The reported free-claim window ran from January 8 to January 15, 2026, so it is no longer an upcoming offer.
What was Epic Games Store’s next free game?
Notebookcheck reported on December 31, 2025, that Bloons TD 6 was scheduled to be free on Epic Games Store from January 8 through January 15, 2026, at 16:00 UTC. That date range has passed. The report said the information came from a Reddit leak attributed to MeguminShiro, rather than an official announcement, so it documented a reported promotion, not proof that the offer had been officially confirmed when the article was published. What did “218,000 ratings” refer to?
The figure was a late-December 2025 snapshot of almost 218,000 Steam reviews, as reported by Notebookcheck. It was not an Epic Games Store rating count, an exact integer, or a current total.
What kind of game is Bloons TD 6?
Epic categorizes the Windows version as a strategy game and describes it as tower defense. Players build defenses from Monkey Towers and Heroes to stop waves of balloons. The official listing supports offline single-player and co-op for up to four players. Epic identifies Ninja Kiwi as both developer and publisher. View the Bloons TD 6 listing on Epic Games Store
