Jo Lammert: production across partner projects
Lammert joined as production lead. GamesBeat said she would oversee production across the portfolio and help partner developers bring their projects to completion. Brewer joined as technical director, bringing an engineering background that GamesBeat described as spanning more than 20 years, with roles at Nvidia, Oculus, EA, Activision and other companies. Why the hires fit Blumhouse Games’ publishing model
Blumhouse Games was positioning itself as a publisher of original horror games made with independent development partners, rather than starting with direct adaptations of Blumhouse film franchises. That model puts production coordination and technical support across separate developer teams at the center of the publisher’s work. The reports described the intended scope and budget differently at different points in time. GamesBeat’s November 2023 account said the games were planned for console, PC and mobile, with indie budgets below $10 million. At Summer Game Fest in June 2024, Blumhouse Games presented six projects from independent developers. The slate showed a broader range than one horror formula: it included a teen-horror puzzle adventure, a supernatural farming simulation, first-person horror and experimental narrative work. These were titles announced at that time, not a current release-status list.

How later company updates change the picture
Later reporting points to continued publishing and partnership activity, but it does not confirm the current status of the two 2023 hires. GamesBeat reported on October 28, 2025, that Amanda Kruse had joined as vice president of business development to build relationships with multimedia partners. Blumhouse’s official About page describes the wider company’s work across film, television and gaming and lists Fear the Spotlight alongside upcoming Eyes of Hellfire and Sleep Awake.
