Where to find current Borderlands 4 SHiFT codes
Check official SHiFT channels for current offers and read each code’s terms before using it. A code may apply only to certain games or platforms, and it may expire. The official SHiFT guidance notes that not every code works for every Borderlands game: How to redeem a SHiFT Code.
The five-Golden-Key code published with the March 30, 2026 minor update was valid only through April 30, 2026, with one redemption per SHiFT account. It is expired and should not be treated as a usable code. The official support hub’s October 1, 2026 weekly update did not establish a currently valid Golden Key code.

Redeem a code on the SHiFT website
- Sign in to your SHiFT account.
- Open SHiFT > Rewards > Code Redemption.
- Enter the code, then select an eligible game and platform.
- Submit the redemption and look for the success confirmation.
If SHiFT reports that the code does not exist or has expired, check the characters you entered and the offer’s deadline. A failed check is not evidence that repeated attempts will make the code valid.
Redeem a code in Borderlands 4
You can also enter SHiFT codes through the in-game SHiFT menu. The website route is useful when you want to explicitly choose the eligible game and platform and see the redemption confirmation in your browser; both are official redemption routes.

Open a Golden Chest on Kairos
Golden Keys open Golden Chests found on Kairos. The loot is randomized and scales to the character’s level when you open the chest, so consider waiting until the character you want to equip is at the level you prefer before spending a key.
- Each Golden Key is single-use and cannot be traded or sold.
- Items produced by a Golden Chest can be traded, sold, or stored.
What if you’re missing your Golden Keys?
- In the game, open Inventory > Currency and check the Golden Key balance. Keys from a successful redemption go straight into inventory; they do not need to be collected from Reward Center.
- If you redeemed on the website while the game was paused or in standby, close Borderlands 4 fully and restart it. Then check the Currency panel again.
- If the balance is still unchanged, verify that the website showed a successful redemption and that you selected the correct game and platform for the code.
How Golden Keys and other SHiFT rewards behave across characters
Golden Keys are a pool shared by all Vault Hunters on the account, rather than a separate supply for each character. Other rewards can follow different rules: SHiFT guns, ordinance, and shields are generally redeemed for one Vault Hunter, while cosmetics can be used across characters.

SHiFT code and Twitch Drop rewards are tied to the SHiFT account and its linked platform relationship. Unlinking a platform account can remove access to SHiFT content. Some individual promotions also have extra requirements: for example, the Hazard Pay skin offer specified a verified SHiFT account, marketing opt-in, a linked platform, and an in-game login. Those were terms for that offer, not universal prerequisites for redeeming Golden Key codes.
