2K had confirmed the September 12 date and those platforms in its June 16, 2025 pre-order announcement. The date is therefore the actual release date, not an upcoming launch window.
What time did Borderlands 4 unlock?
The available schedule information establishes one regional entry: Sydney, Australia, at 2:00 AM AEST on September 12, 2025. That entry appeared in a Steam Community announcement titled “Borderlands 4 Global Launch times”. It is a PC schedule entry, not a confirmed unlock time for consoles or a complete timetable for every location.

Because the full schedule is not established here, there is no reliable basis for converting that Sydney entry into a global list or assuming that console unlocks followed the same timing. Was Borderlands 4 released on Nintendo Switch 2?
2K’s September 12, 2025 announcement described October 3, 2025 as the planned Nintendo Switch 2 release date. That announcement establishes the plan, but does not confirm whether the version ultimately launched or its current availability. Check a current official listing for Switch 2 status rather than treating the announced date as proof of release.
