What does the Alchemist profession do?
Alchemist is the profession for making potions. A secondary profession guide describes crafting in Hopeport’s Apothecary and explains how ingredients connect with other professions, but that guide predates major recipe and balance updates. Treat its location and route details as historical orientation, not confirmation of the current interface or best training path. Read the Alchemist profession guide.
What changed in Alchemist?
September 2025: recipes and stations
In its September 3, 2025 Botanist Profession Launch update, the official game update said almost every potion had been changed to one recipe regardless of level. It also introduced a new Strength Arborae recipe and added Strength Infernae and Strength Necromae potions. Under the documented changes, potions are made at either a standard potion station or a potent potion station, regardless of level. The update identified the XP Stonemaw Hill potion as an exception that was expected to receive a single recipe in a future update; it does not establish whether that follow-up has since happened. February 2026: milestones and ingredient access
The official Project Milestone Phase 2 Launch update, posted February 9, 2026, introduced profession milestones and broad balance changes. Its update text says certain ingredients were no longer sold in shops but could still be traded between players. That can affect the practicality of older recipes and training routes: check current shop stock, trade availability, and milestone requirements before committing to a plan. The update does not provide a current exhaustive Alchemist recipe list or a verified optimal leveling route. Read the official Phase 2 update.

How should you train Alchemist now?
There is not enough verified current information to name a best potion, level breakpoint, or XP-per-hour route. The surfaced Icy Veins guide reports an update date of January 14, 2025, before the September 2025 recipe and station changes and the February 2026 milestone and balance update. Use it for background only, not as an assured current progression plan.
- Check the live recipe information. At the available potion station, review the recipe and level requirements shown in-game rather than assuming an old guide’s recipe tiers still apply.
- Confirm ingredient access. Check whether each ingredient is currently shop-sold, obtainable through another profession, or available through player trade. The 2026 update makes this especially important for routes based on shop purchases.
- Compare viable recipes against your goal. Consider the displayed XP, ingredient availability and cost, any required profession levels, and whether the recipe depends on tradeable ingredients. Do not infer that a higher-level potion or an older guide’s recommended recipe is automatically more efficient.
- Check profession milestones. Review the current milestone requirements and rewards in-game so the route fits your progression goals as well as your immediate Alchemist level.
These checks let you adapt to the current game without relying on unverified XP rates or ingredient locations.

Which recipe or training route is best?
A current winner cannot be established from the available published details: there is no reliable, comparable data for Alchemist routes’ XP per hour, ingredient costs, or level breakpoints. For a meaningful comparison, gather those values in the current game and compare recipes on the same basis. A route that looks efficient on paper may be impractical if its ingredients are no longer sold in shops or require trading.
