Black Ops 6 launched with 33 armaments: 25 primary weapons, six secondaries and two melee weapons. The original roster spans assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns, LMGs, marksman rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, launchers and melee. Seasons 01 through 05 then added more weapons, so the launch list and the current live-service roster should be treated separately.
Launch weapons and unlock levels
At launch, one weapon from each weapon type was available in default loadouts. The remaining launch weapons unlocked at specific player levels. The tables below use the official launch roster published by Call of Duty Staff in October 2024.

Weapons added in Seasons 01–05
Seasonal weapons are additions to the launch roster, not replacements for it. Their availability can depend on the relevant season, event or other live-service unlock path, so check the in-game menus for the current method.

Season 03 Reloaded details
- The Ladra is described as a full-auto SMG with an extreme rate of fire, excellent range and low recoil.
- The Goblin Mk 2 received a 7.62 Mini-Rocket Conversion that adds explosive ammunition.
Season 02 also documented Crossbow, Full Auto Mod, Binary Trigger and Belt-Fed attachments. Season 05 documented the 9mm PM Skull Splitter and PPSh-41 Helical Magazine attachments; these are attachments, not separate base weapons.

Which Black Ops 6 weapon type fits each range?

How to pick a “best” weapon
There is no single best gun for every map, mode or player. Start with the engagement distance you expect, then balance handling against firepower and accuracy.

- Mostly close range: begin with an SMG for mobility, or a shotgun when encounters are consistently extreme close range.
- Mixed sightlines: use an assault rifle as the general-purpose option.
- Long lanes and sustained fights: consider an LMG for sustained fire or a marksman rifle when accuracy matters more than volume.
- Extreme distance: choose a sniper rifle and build around precision.
- Check availability: use an immediately available weapon while leveling, then switch when the desired level-gated or seasonal weapon becomes accessible.
What can change after launch
- Player-level unlocks, event requirements and Battle Pass or seasonal availability are live-service details and may be changed by later updates.
- The Kilo 141, CR-56 AMAX and HDR are seasonal weapons associated with the broader Call of Duty ecosystem; confirm the mode and platform in which you intend to use them.
- The 33-weapon figure applies to the launch roster. The official material covered here does not establish a single final all-seasons total, so it is more accurate to list each seasonal addition than to claim a permanent grand total.
