Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will not be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. Xbox’s listing advertises an Inner Circuit Weapon Blueprint for digital preorders, while a separate, limited-time Microsoft Store promotion may include a digital Xbox gift card for qualifying purchases. The gift-card offer has regional and account-eligibility conditions, so check the official terms for your location before buying.
Will Modern Warfare 4 be on Xbox Game Pass?
No—not at launch. The official Call of Duty Xbox preorder-incentives page says Modern Warfare 4 “will not be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.” It does not give a date for a possible later Game Pass release.
Xbox Wire lists the game’s scheduled release as October 23, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, Battle.net, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The date is a planned release date, not confirmation that the game is already available.
What preorder rewards are available?
Digital preorder: Inner Circuit Weapon Blueprint
The Xbox Store listing names the Inner Circuit Weapon Blueprint as a digital preorder bonus. The listing is the relevant place to confirm the bonus for an Xbox Store purchase; do not assume a promotion attached to a different store or retailer applies to that purchase.

Qualifying Microsoft Store purchases: promotional Xbox gift card
The official incentive page also describes a promotional digital Xbox gift card for qualifying Microsoft Store purchases. The amount varies by region, and the offer is time-limited and available in participating regions while supplies last. The stated offer window is May 28 through October 22, 2026; check the live terms to see whether it remains available and what amount applies where you live.
Eligibility is not just a matter of preordering. The stated terms tie eligibility to owning and having played a Call of Duty game released in 2019 or later on the same platform account. Free-to-play and mobile titles do not count. For digital Xbox Store preorders, the page says an eligible buyer should receive an Xbox App notification within 35 days of launch containing a redemption code. Confirm the full conditions and redemption instructions on the official page before relying on the promotion.

Which edition should you preorder?
The Xbox Wire announcement and Activision’s edition guide distinguish the base digital edition from the Vault Edition. The base edition includes the full game and preorder or prepurchase bonuses. The Vault Edition includes the base game plus additional digital content; some items depend on mode or Season 1 availability.
| Option | What the sources say it includes | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Digital Standard | Full base game and preorder/prepurchase bonuses, according to Activision Support. | Confirm the listed bonus and any Microsoft Store promotion separately for the store and region where you buy. |
| Vault Edition | Base game, operator packs, a Signature Weapon Collection, one season of BlackCell, and a DMZ Deployment Bonus, according to Xbox Wire and Activision Support. | Some content becomes available with Season 1 or is mode-dependent; check the edition guide for item-specific timing. |
Xbox Wire also says qualifying preorder buyers are planned to receive campaign early access starting October 16, 2026. Check the edition terms for which purchases qualify and the applicable access details.

Do you need Game Pass to play on Xbox?
The game is not included in Game Pass at launch, but that is separate from the subscription requirement for online multiplayer on console. The Xbox Store listing says an online multiplayer subscription is required and sold separately, and lists Game Pass Core or Ultimate. Review the listing for current requirements before purchase.
