Call of Duty: Warzone Season 04 launched on May 29, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT. Its major Warzone changes included a new Verdansk skyscraper called The Overlook, the return of the 52v52 Clash limited-time mode, Battle Royale Ranked Play on Verdansk, and the LC10 and FFAR 1 weapons. Resurgence Ranked Play on Rebirth Island was planned for mid-season, not launch day.
When did Warzone Season 04 launch?
Raven Software’s Season 04 Warzone patch notes, published May 28, 2025, state that the season arrived May 29 at 9 a.m. PT. The season was a shared content drop for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, with this article focused on its Warzone changes. It is historical coverage: Activision’s Season 04 announcement and patch notes describe that 2025 release, not the current live season.
What changed on Verdansk?
The Overlook
The main new point of interest was The Overlook, a large skyscraper near Downtown. Players could reach higher areas using two cranes, including movable cargo hooks, while horizontal ziplines connected parts of the point of interest and nearby rooftops. The launch notes also placed The Overlook among the High Value Loot Zone locations, alongside Superstore and Quarry.
Buy Stations
Raven Software said Verdansk’s Buy Station count increased from 47 to 49 and that locations were shuffled. Those figures describe the Season 04 map update in 2025, not necessarily the map’s current configuration.

Which modes and Ranked playlists were included?
Clash: 52v52 on Verdansk
Clash returned as a limited-time mode, with 104 players split into two teams of 52. Matches ran for up to 15 minutes, with a 500-point target. Teams earned score through eliminations, contracts, Domination Points and special crates. Players could use loadouts immediately, and the launch notes also mentioned a mixed-view option. The format and match details were set out in the official announcement and Warzone patch notes.
Ranked Play: launch versus mid-season
Battle Royale Ranked Play on Verdansk began in the Season 04 launch window. Resurgence Ranked Play was a separate, planned mid-season addition on Rebirth Island, played in Trios with its own ranking separate from Battle Royale Ranked. It should not be read as a launch-day playlist.

Casual Solos experiment

The notes framed this as an experiment rather than a permanent change.

The season offered free and premium Battle Pass tiers, with Stitch as the headline operator. BlackCell featured Omen and additional exclusive digital rewards.
