A 24/7 YouTube livestream can earn a share of YouTube Premium subscription revenue when eligible Premium members watch it. The creator must be in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and accept the Watch Page Monetization Module. YouTube says it allocates Premium revenue according to how much members watch; it does not publish a fixed rate for an individual stream or a special payout rule for streams that run continuously.
How Premium revenue applies to livestreams
YouTube classifies live-streaming video playback pages as Watch Pages. Its monetization guidance says creators need to accept the Watch Page Monetization Module to earn Watch Page ad and Premium revenue. That means the general Premium rule applies to eligible livestream viewing, including a continuous broadcast; YouTube’s published guidance does not describe a separate 24/7 program or guarantee income based on stream duration. YouTube’s Watch Page monetization guidance
Premium revenue is distinct from advertising revenue. A Premium member can contribute to a creator’s share of subscription fees through watching, even when that viewing does not generate an ad impression. YouTube describes the allocation basis this way: “Revenue from YouTube Premium membership fees is distributed to video creators based on how much members watch your content.” YouTube Help: Your content & YouTube Premium
What you need to qualify
- YPP access: The channel must be accepted into the YouTube Partner Program and remain eligible under YouTube’s current requirements and monetization policies.
- Watch Page terms: Accept the Watch Page Monetization Module. YouTube’s guidance for long-form videos also says to turn on Watch Page ads to earn Watch Page monetization. Check the channel’s current Earn tab and applicable terms, since program requirements and contract terms can change. YouTube Help: Choose how you want to monetize
- Eligible viewing: Premium revenue is linked to members watching your content, not simply to the stream being live for a certain number of hours.
- Policy-compliant content: YPP and monetization policy compliance still apply. A 24/7 schedule does not exempt a channel or its videos from YouTube’s rules.
Does running 24/7 increase Premium earnings?
Not by itself in any guaranteed or measurable way stated in YouTube’s guidance. A longer schedule may give viewers more opportunity to watch, but YouTube identifies member watch time as the basis for allocating Premium fees and does not publish an individual-stream calculator, guaranteed minimum, or universal per-view or per-hour Premium rate. Applying the general Watch Page rule to a 24/7 stream should not be mistaken for a special entitlement or a forecast of earnings.

How Premium compares with other live income
| Income route | What can generate it | Conditions and limits |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Premium | Eligible Premium members watch the content; YouTube allocates a share of subscription fees based on member viewing. | YPP and the Watch Page Monetization Module are required. The cited guidance gives no fixed payment for an individual stream. Source; Source |
| Ads | An ad is served during or around the live content. | Watch Page monetization terms apply, and YouTube does not guarantee that an ad slot will serve. YouTube reported an average “over 20% uplift in instream ad revenue per hour” for channels that turned on live automatic mid-roll ads compared with channels that did not, averaged across 207 countries in January 2024. That figure concerns ad revenue, not Premium revenue, and is not an earnings forecast for an individual channel. YouTube live monetization guidance |

Keeping a 24/7 stream online is separate from monetization
Whether a stream can keep running is a technical question; Premium eligibility and allocation are YouTube monetization questions. If you use a cloud service to keep uploaded video live on YouTube, StreamNeo is one option: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Its cloud loop continues without a computer or home connection staying on. Learn more at StreamNeo.
StreamNeo does not make a channel eligible for YPP or guarantee Premium earnings; YouTube’s monetization requirements still apply. Its first day is free with no card. Try StreamNeo.
