Yes—if “offline” means you are away from your device, not that the broadcast has ended. A 24/7 YouTube stream may receive Super Chats while you are away if it remains live, live chat is available, and your channel and stream meet YouTube’s requirements. YouTube’s published guidance does not list the creator’s physical presence as a condition; that conclusion is an inference from its eligibility rules, not a guarantee that an unattended stream will stay online or that viewers will buy anything.
What “offline” means for Super Chat
Super Chat is a paid, highlighted message viewers can buy in live chat during eligible live streams and Premieres. YouTube describes the feature as a way for fans to connect with creators during those broadcasts (YouTube Help: Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility, availability and policies).
- You are away, but the stream is live: Super Chat may be available if the stream and channel are eligible and live chat is on. YouTube’s cited rules do not say the creator must be physically present.
- The broadcast is offline or has ended: Super Chat is tied to live chat on a live stream or Premiere. The guidance does not support claiming viewers can keep buying Super Chats after the broadcast ends or while live chat is unavailable.
That distinction matters for a 24/7 broadcast: the creator can be absent while the stream runs, but the feature depends on the broadcast and its chat—not simply on a channel being intended to stream around the clock.
Check that your channel and stream qualify
Channel eligibility and setup
YouTube’s fan-funding requirements include being in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), being at least 18, living in a location where the feature is available, and meeting the applicable feature terms. You must accept and comply with the relevant Commerce Product Module or legacy addendum and switch the feature on in YouTube Studio. Individual features can have additional requirements; check YouTube’s current guidance on YouTube Commerce Products monetization policies and how to earn money on YouTube.

If available for your channel, the Supers section appears under Earn in YouTube Studio. Confirm your eligibility and settings there rather than assuming that every channel or stream can accept Supers.
Stream and chat eligibility
Super Chat is unavailable on certain content, including age-restricted, unlisted, private, and Made for Kids videos. It is also unavailable when live chat or comments are disabled. YouTube says Supers are automatically available on eligible live streams and Premieres where chat is turned on. Review the current eligibility and availability rules, since your stream’s status and settings matter as well as your channel’s.

What to check before leaving a 24/7 stream
YouTube does not document a special unattended-stream mode or promise that an unattended broadcast will remain live. Before stepping away, use the same practical checks you would use for any live broadcast:
- Confirm the broadcast is live. Check its status in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- Confirm live chat is available. Check the stream as a viewer and make sure chat has not been disabled.
- Check the stream’s eligibility. Verify that its visibility and content status do not put it in one of the categories where Supers are unavailable.
- Review activity afterward. YouTube says Supers can be viewed in the Live Control Room, the mobile app, or the website, and revenue is reported in Analytics. This is operating advice, not a special YouTube guarantee for 24/7 streams (Manage YouTube Super Chat & Super Stickers for Live Chat).
Super Chat income is not guaranteed
Eligibility means viewers can use the feature; it does not mean purchases will happen. YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted. YouTube currently covers transaction costs such as credit-card fees. The share applies to confirmed Supers revenue; it is not a promised amount per stream or a forecast of what an unattended broadcast will earn (YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers guidance).

Super Chat is also separate from advertising. YouTube documents both as ways to earn from live streams, but ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Its published figure of more than 20% average uplift in in-stream ad revenue per hour was based on creators who chose live automatic mid-roll ads versus channels without them, averaged across 207 countries in January 2024; it concerns ads, not Super Chat or a prediction of unattended-stream earnings (Monetize your live stream).
