Yes. YouTube allows up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 active streams per stream key, with both limits applying at the same time. So two simultaneous 24/7 streams are within YouTube’s documented limits if your channel is eligible and has room under both caps. You also need a setup capable of sending two separate feeds and enough outbound bandwidth for their combined bitrates.
What YouTube’s limits mean for two streams
YouTube Help’s “Get started with live streaming” guidance sets a limit of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These limits apply together. Two streams therefore fit within the stated maximums, but count any other active streams on the channel and any already-active streams using either key.
That answers whether YouTube permits two concurrent streams in principle; it does not guarantee that a particular encoder, computer, network or cloud service can run both continuously. You must configure two feeds and keep their combined delivery within your available capacity.
Requirements before you start
- Live-stream eligibility: YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. The platform’s minimum age for live streaming is 16. See YouTube Help’s eligibility guidance.
- Two separate stream configurations: Set up two YouTube live events and configure a feed for each. YouTube’s “Stream across platforms” guidance describes configuring an encoder for a live event and repeating the process for simultaneous broadcasts, within the platform limits.
- Enough upload capacity: Add the outgoing bitrates of both feeds, including any backup feed, and compare the total with the upload bandwidth available to the encoder. YouTube recommends keeping 20% headroom; see “Streaming tips”.
- A continuous-operation plan: For 24/7 playback, the encoder or service must keep sending both feeds and recover if a feed or connection stops. YouTube’s platform limits do not establish that a particular product can sustain two continuous streams.
How to set up two pre-recorded streams
- Create two separate live events in YouTube Studio. Give each event its own title, description, visibility and scheduled or live status. Check that both are intended to be active at the same time.
- Choose an encoder or streaming service that supports two concurrent feeds. YouTube describes encoders as software applications or standalone hardware and explains that they use YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Its encoder setup guide also names Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. Confirm a product’s current ability to run two continuous YouTube events; YouTube’s guidance does not confirm that capability for any specific encoder or service.
- Configure each feed for its own event. Use the server URL and stream key associated with the corresponding event. Keep the two event-to-feed assignments clear so you do not send the wrong video to the wrong event. For continuous prerecorded playback, add the relevant recordings or playlists in the encoder or service.
- Check aggregate bitrate before going live. Add the bitrates for both feeds (and any backup feed) and make sure the total leaves YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom against the available outbound bandwidth. If the connection is shared or variable, allow for that variation rather than planning at its maximum advertised rate.
- Start and verify both streams. Confirm each event is receiving the intended feed and that playback continues. Monitor both connections and the encoder or service; a healthy status for one event does not establish that the other is still delivering.
Choose local encoding or a cloud service
A local software or hardware encoder can send the feeds from your own equipment. This gives you direct control, but the encoder and network connection must remain available and handle the combined bitrate. YouTube documents the encoder category, not the dual-stream capacity of any particular model or computer. Check the maker’s specifications for simultaneous output, sustained operation and network requirements before relying on it.

A cloud encoder moves the continuous work off your local machine, but capabilities vary. YouTube’s guidance establishes that cloud-based tools are an option and identifies Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded streaming; it does not verify that Gyre, or any other named service, currently supports two concurrent continuous feeds. Confirm that exact requirement with the provider before subscribing or building your schedule around it.
Plan archives and DVR separately
A stream staying live for a full day does not mean YouTube will save a complete 24-hour archive. YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, and warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours. These caveats are described in YouTube Help’s “Turn on DVR on live streams” guidance.

If you need a complete recording, keep your own source files or make a separate recording plan rather than depending on the live-stream archive. Consider each stream’s archive and rewind needs independently.
