Yes. YouTube’s published limits allow up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 active streams per stream key at once, so two simultaneous streams fit within both caps. You still need an eligible channel and a way to supply two separate live feeds. YouTube documents running multiple encoder streams, but its guidance does not certify every tool that loops prerecorded video as a live feed.
What the limits mean for two simultaneous streams
YouTube’s current Help guidance, accessed in 2026, sets a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. Both limits apply at the same time. Two events are within those published caps, including if they use the same key, provided the channel is eligible and the other active-stream counts stay within the limits. YouTube’s live-streaming requirements and restrictions describe the channel requirements and caps.
Those limits establish that YouTube permits multiple active streams; they do not mean YouTube supplies a built-in feature that takes two uploaded videos and automatically loops them live. YouTube’s instructions cover scheduled events and encoder feeds. A prerecorded-video workflow depends on the encoder or automation tool you choose, and its compatibility should be checked separately.
Check channel eligibility first
- The channel must be verified, have live streaming enabled, and have no live-streaming restriction from the prior 90 days. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- Make sure each event has its own setup in Live Control Room, and keep the total number of active streams within both the channel and stream-key caps.
- Confirm the method you plan to use can provide a distinct feed for each event. A tool that can loop one file is not necessarily able to run two independent feeds at once.
How to set up two prerecorded streams
- Create two events. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule the first live event, then create or schedule a second. Each event has its own watch page and connection details.
- Connect a feed to each event. Configure an encoder or other playback workflow with the correct stream URL and stream key for each event. Check carefully that each feed is paired with its intended event; sending both feeds to one event will not create two separate broadcasts.
- Prepare the prerecorded content. Set up the encoder workflow to play the chosen recording as a live feed. YouTube’s general encoder instructions explain how to connect and preview streams, but do not certify every method for looping prerecorded files. Verify that your chosen software or service can run both feeds concurrently and behaves as you expect.
- Preview and start each feed. Follow the encoder’s preview process and start each feed. In Live Control Room, verify that both events receive their intended video before going live.
- End both broadcasts cleanly. Stop each encoder feed and end its corresponding event in Live Control Room. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after the encoder feed stops; this is an archive guideline, not a universal maximum runtime. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover connecting, previewing, and ending a stream.
Plan bandwidth and encoding capacity
Two feeds sent from the same location require enough outgoing upload bandwidth for their combined bitrates. YouTube advises that the total bitrate should not exceed available upload capacity and recommends leaving 20% of upload bandwidth unused. For example, if the two streams together send at 12 Mbps, plan for at least 15 Mbps of available upload capacity to preserve that headroom. The usable upload rate can vary, so a nominal internet-plan speed is not a guarantee of sustained capacity. YouTube’s streaming tips discuss bitrate and upload bandwidth.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
When encoding locally, the computer must also process both feeds at the same time. The workload depends on the software, source files, output settings, and hardware; YouTube does not specify a universal CPU requirement for this scenario. A preview that works for one feed does not prove the system can sustain two.
Choose a workflow that can sustain both feeds
Local encoder
A hardware or software encoder on your own device gives direct control over the feeds, but the computer and internet connection must handle the encoding and combined outgoing bitrate. YouTube describes local encoding as a fit for creators who want control and have a capable computer. A physical hardware encoder is optional, not a requirement for two streams; YouTube also recognizes software encoders. YouTube’s simulstreaming advice explains the trade-offs.

Cloud relay or automation
A cloud relay can reduce local processing demands, but it does not bypass YouTube’s active-stream limits. YouTube’s guidance describes cloud services primarily for sending a feed to multiple destinations and notes that subscriptions and plan limits can vary. Before choosing one for two events on the same channel, confirm that it can provide two distinct event feeds, supports your prerecorded-video workflow, and fits your monitoring and cost requirements. The guidance does not establish that any particular service supports this exact arrangement.
StreamNeo for an always-on prerecorded YouTube stream
StreamNeo is one option if your goal is keeping prerecorded video live on YouTube from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera feed. It runs continuously without a home computer, supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; there is one free day per account. Each slot includes one stream, 10 GB of storage pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, and team support. This can address the need to keep a feed running, but does not change YouTube’s caps; verify that your chosen arrangement fits your event and stream-key limits. Visit StreamNeo for details.

Troubleshooting two-stream setups
- One event receives no feed: Check that its encoder is running and that you used the stream URL and key for that specific event. Confirm the event is open in Live Control Room.
- Both events show the same feed, or one shows the wrong video: Check the event-to-key mapping and confirm the playback workflow can output two independent feeds, rather than duplicating one destination.
- Feed drops or becomes unstable: Check the combined outgoing bitrate against available upload capacity and leave the recommended 20% headroom. Also check whether the local encoder can sustain both streams.
- You cannot enable live streaming: Check verification and channel status. First-time enablement may take up to 24 hours, and a live-streaming restriction from the prior 90 days affects eligibility.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: YouTube’s stated automatic-archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours after the encoder feed is stopped. That statement does not establish what will happen for longer streams.
Copyright and monetization checks still apply
Streaming prerecorded material does not remove the need to have the rights and permissions needed to broadcast it. Review the rights for music, video, and other material in each recording, and check the current YouTube policies that apply to your channel and content before scheduling either event. Two streams also do not guarantee monetization: eligibility and policy compliance are separate from the technical ability to run simultaneous broadcasts.
