Yes. An Indian creator can use a cloud service to send prerecorded video to YouTube as an encoder-based live stream, provided the channel meets YouTube’s live-streaming requirements and the content complies with its rules. YouTube’s verified encoder list specifically describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streams; that listing does not confirm current availability or billing in India. StreamNeo is another YouTube-only option: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, with UPI available in India. Check any provider’s current terms before subscribing.
Does a YouTube live stream have to be captured live?
No. A live stream can carry prerecorded video sent through an encoder workflow. YouTube’s verified encoder list describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos on YouTube. This establishes that the use case is recognized in YouTube’s encoder ecosystem, not that every cloud service supports continuous prerecorded playback or that a particular provider is currently available in India. See YouTube’s verified encoder list.
For a cloud encoder, the video is hosted or supplied to the service, which sends the stream to YouTube. You do not need to keep a local computer encoding the video for the cloud stream to continue. YouTube describes cloud encoders as receiving one high-quality stream and distributing it to selected channels, resolutions or platforms; they can simplify setup and reduce local computer load, though services may charge a subscription. Details vary by provider. YouTube’s encoder guidance explains the general distinction.
What your channel needs before you start
- The channel must be verified.
- The channel must not have a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- The creator must be at least 16 years old.
- First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before a planned broadcast.
These are YouTube’s current eligibility and setup requirements, not requirements imposed specifically on Indian creators. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions if YouTube Studio presents a restriction or activation delay.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. - Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up a cloud stream in YouTube Studio
- Enable live streaming. Verify the channel and turn on live streaming in YouTube Studio. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule one. Use the encoder workflow; YouTube supplies a stream URL and stream key for the encoder.
- Protect the stream key. Enter the URL and key in the provider’s configuration as directed. YouTube describes the key as the stream’s password and address, so do not share it publicly or expose it in a recording or screenshot. If it is compromised, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio. See YouTube’s encoder instructions.
- Choose the prerecorded video and configure playback. Upload or select the video and set the provider’s schedule or looping behavior. The controls and any continuous-stream limits are provider-specific; confirm them directly rather than assuming one scheduled broadcast can run indefinitely.
- Preview before going live. Start the encoder or scheduled transmission, then check the preview in Live Control Room. Confirm both picture and audio before making the stream public or relying on it.
- Monitor the run. Check that the video and audio remain correct and that the provider reports the stream as connected. YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours; for a longer continuous service, check how the provider handles restarts, scheduling and recovery. YouTube’s streaming tips also recommend 20% bandwidth headroom for the sending connection.
Check rights and YouTube policy before looping content
A cloud host does not transfer responsibility for what you stream. You need the rights required for worldwide use of every video and audio component, including music, and the stream must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and applicable terms. YouTube’s livestream terms set out the creator’s rights obligations: YouTube Terms of Service. Review the Community Guidelines as well.
Having permission to use a video does not, by itself, guarantee that it complies with every YouTube policy or qualifies for monetization. Replaying material you do not own or have permission to use can lead to copyright claims or other enforcement. Check the rights and policies for the specific content before scheduling repeated playback.

Which cloud option fits an Indian creator?
YouTube’s verified encoder documentation specifically lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streaming. The listing establishes relevance to this use case, but does not establish Gyre’s current India availability, pricing, billing methods, operating limits or present partner status. Confirm those details with the provider before paying.
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping a channel live from uploaded videos. It loops a recording or playlist after you add your YouTube stream key. In India, UPI and cards are supported; elsewhere, checkout is by card. Its monthly plan is $9.99 per month; see StreamNeo pricing for the available billing periods. The same service is offered on each plan, with 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots. YouTube’s encoder documentation also lists other cloud services, including Restream, but the cited listing describes features such as multistreaming, guests, overlays and video playback—not the same established 24/7 prerecorded use case. Confirm current functionality with any provider before choosing it.

Cloud encoder or local encoder?
| Consideration | Cloud service | Local hardware or software encoder |
|---|---|---|
| Computer load | The cloud service handles encoding or stream delivery, reducing work on your local computer. | Your computer or encoder runs the stream and must remain available during it. |
| Setup | You configure the provider and connect it to YouTube; YouTube describes cloud services as easier to set up. | You have more direct control over the encoding setup, but must configure and operate it yourself. |
| Control | Playback, scheduling and recovery depend on the provider’s features and limits. | More direct control may suit creators with a capable computer and the time to manage it. |
| Cost | Cloud services often use subscriptions; current provider prices and terms need to be checked directly. | Cost depends on the hardware, electricity and software already available; YouTube does not provide a cost comparison. |
YouTube’s overview of encoder choices explains the general trade-off between cloud convenience and local control: encoder guidance. For a prerecorded channel that must stay online while your computer is off, a cloud service avoids depending on a home computer and connection. A local setup may be preferable if you want direct control and can keep the equipment and connection running reliably.
What to verify before subscribing in India
- Whether the provider accepts customers in India and supports a payment method you can use.
- The total price, billing currency, applicable taxes and cancellation terms shown at checkout.
- Maximum stream duration, scheduling and playlist or looping behavior.
- What happens after a disconnect: automatic recovery, restart requirements and whether the stream key remains valid.
- Storage limits and supported video formats or quality settings.
These are service-specific details; YouTube’s general encoder pages do not establish them for every provider. For help estimating a file transfer before upload, use StreamNeo’s upload-time calculator. Its copyright safety checklist can also help organize a rights review, but it does not replace YouTube’s rules or legal advice.

Troubleshooting common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Check verification, age eligibility and any live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder: Recheck that the provider has the correct stream URL and current key. Keep the key private; replace it in YouTube Studio if it may have been exposed.
- The preview has no sound or the wrong video: Check the selected source and audio track in the provider, then verify both in Live Control Room before the stream is public.
- The stream stops during a long run: Do not assume a single broadcast is indefinite. Check the provider’s duration limit, scheduling and restart or recovery behavior, and whether you need to schedule a new stream.
- The stream is interrupted from a local setup: YouTube recommends 20% bandwidth headroom. A cloud encoder reduces dependence on your home computer and connection, but provider recovery behavior should still be confirmed.
